Trying to seed some plot threads here. Rumors of omenpaths reach all five empires, and the citizens jump at the chance to escape this terrible plane. Of course, the leaders and their loyalists don't want to lose any of their useful subjects.

Sidenote: Is it a good idea to add triple mana sources if there already is hybrid mana? I mean outside of sets that would want you to explicitly play 5 colors.

Sidenote: Is it a good idea to add triple mana sources if there already is hybrid mana? I mean outside of sets that would want you to explicitly play 5 colors. That's probably more a big picture thing + what you want your draft environment to look like. For reference Capenna did use hybrid to make some legendaries easier to cast e.g. Rigo, Streetwise Mentor and had the triomes and Ravnica is naturally full of hybrid mana costs and dual mana sources. This is hybrid and triple mana at common level though so maybe not quite an equal comparison...

Mechanics, as established so far: - Hybrid Mana (General)
- Campaigns (General)
- Renown (Ustendal)
- Exploit (Rumok)
- Venerate (Lumona)
- Infamy (Ashkala)
Plus there is pernicious 's "kill" keyword which is keywording something that already existed (see their post for full context). In addition there are some common themes: - +1/+1 counters
- Death triggers (sacrifice and killing)
- Minor things: Scry, mana pool diversity, attack promotion, dice roll (Rumok), possibly some land caring because of the mana thing and the fact campaigns make lands.
Also so far the races have been largely humans with one merfolk and one elf. There's also some threads of Omen Path rumors introduced by thaneofglamis Uncommon #1

Thanks for compiling known info, Idea , that's really helpful! U02Raid and Pillage (Whenever you attack with one or more creatures, put a glory counter on this. Transform at III.)I: Create three 1/1 red Ogre Warrior creature tokens with haste and "This creature attacks each combat if able." II: Creatures you control gain menace until end of turn. III: Until end of turn, whenever an attacking creature you control dies, it deals 1 damage to any target. Enchantment - Campaign Ashkala OutlandsLand : Add , , or . , , Sacrifice a creature: ~ deals 2 damage to any target. Once, these lands were a frequent target of raids. Now, they are just being pillaged.

Linarion, Master of Riverpeak Legendary Creature - Elf Druid Noble Flying Other creatures you control have venerate . Whenever a creature you control venerates a creature with flying, put a flying counter on the venerating creature. The same is true for first strike, double strike, lifelink, reach, trample, and vigilance. "The beasts will not leave your offerings unrequited."2/2

Judging
Zephyr: Clock Theoretian: Exploit is a natural inclusion for WUB. it is a bit generic in a grimdark setting but it could work okay. The use of dice to simulate the randomness of the machine is funny. My issues are with the card itself: this is a common that can draw three cards (!) which is quite a bit. The wording is odd because you don't really have much of a point of rolling dice if you don't exploit. Maybe there are some dice adding tricks in the set, but I would make the reward when you hit a six to make it more tempting, and maybe reduce the reward to two cards rather than three. Fundamentally though, exploit + rng is a bit too scary for my liking: exploit already has a bit commitment cost to sacrifice a creature, and this has the chance to do nothing, leading to some real feel bads.
Thaneofglamis: Luzmoma Trailblazer: Venerate is an ok mechanic. Two problems with it: it being instant speed probably makes it so there are too many on board combat tricks, and being able to venerate itself is a bit strange. The card itself is fine if a bit akward, since the chances of playing a creature, having three mana to give it haste and that haste being worth it is not super high. I'm of the school that text in commons should matter, but it's not a serious flaw either. Wayward Pathfinder: Solid card, solid flavor, nice idea to mix in with the grimdark concept. I don't know about sacking a 2/2 to scry 1 and draw a card, this feels so much worse than a 1/1 doing it.
pernicious: Show-off: Technically infamy is better in RBG rather than UBR because of the flavor, so points there. That said, the mechanic is too similar to renowned, which I don't love, specially since unlike renown, it might be very tough to have this ability matters, since the right conditions need to happen, whereas renown is a lot about granting evasion. Also, what happens if the two creatures die at the same time? Here it doesn't matter because of first strike, but that interaction might not be obvious if you don't know about state game actions. Subtle point, but one nontheless. I think adding "and survives" even if it's not necessary could do wonders here. Nip in the Bud: Essence scatter, is that you? Flavor is solid and the design is fun. Do note that asking to leave up two mana is non trivial, and blue is often designed around it. That said, I could see flash being a subtheme so this is okay. Ustendal Landmark: I think tri colored stones are a bit much, but they are so slow and given we have the campaigns that give us filterlands and other ways to fix probably, i think they are fine. Each could have slightly different abilities, although i would have much rather preffered ustendal giving evasion to trigger renowend. Besides, renowned can cause memory issues with +1/+1 counters. Normalizing brainwash: I really really dig this card, very nice and elegant. That said, it feels it fails with the hybrid test. Yes technically you can argue that so does some other cards, but this is too extreme. This card can be played four out of five factions, so the flavor doesn't quite hit home. The effect is quite strong too, and this being so easy to play in so many decks is worrysome. I believe this should just be UW and maybe reworked to make it so it is a bit more generic flavor wise. Ironically it is better in Rumok than Ustendal.
piston: Devout Worshipper: This card is great. It fits neatly in both WGU and potentially in WRG. Counters seem important, and it being a death trigger is even good for Exploit. This is exactly the type of card i wanted from hybrid. Cards that meet a function and do it well. It's hard to find one of those spots where you can make a card like this but you did.
Decembra: Wow, I would have been 100% opposed to gold compaigns at common, but you did it. I think it's a fun long acting pump. My issue is powerlevel, the card is weak, I would make the frontside a bit stronger. Having a filterland on the back is a really nice way to have splashing in common. Just all around great card and design.
Idea: Heart stealer: What a heart throb! I like hybrid activated abilities like this, very nice design in that sense. The card itself is intresting. The main issue is how dependant it is on your opponent having small creatures for it to do anything. Still a novel design and a fun card overall.
Viz: Despot's dictate: Yess, i loved this kinds of cards in ravnica and shadowmoor. Such classics. The card itself though is a bit disjointed. It's a thoughtsieze that can shock something and scry 2? Honestly, even ignoring the blue part, this card is probably too strong for a common and reads more as an uncommon either way. Raid and pillage: This card is great, but the sac ability on the land is super weird considering how this is not the exploit color. Or well, not the main one at least. I love the campaign part of it though, it's great how each section helps you reach the next. Linarion is sweet! Great commander. My only gripe is the card itself, it's a bit small. I would push its stats a tad more, like 3/4. As is it's really below the powerlevel. Results: If I were to judge based on individual design, I would say piston and decembra had the best submissions. If I were to consider the ones that had more impact on the pack, I would pick pernicious or viz. I'm unsure, but because I was so impressed by it I'm gonna give the win to Bouncearama and give the newer members a try!

one small detail lordpat , I don't think ZephyrPhantom made a card in this pack. Clock Theoritician was me. Speaking of which, you are right in that maybe there is no point rolling as it currently is if you don't exploit. Or maybe that even builds into the theme. Either way the point was very much that you had to sacrifice something if you wanted to draw those three cards (barring external effects) which would reduce the overall card advantage. There are in fact plenty of commons that either draw three cards with a cost (high mana or discarding a card) or with conditions, such as high-rolling.

There are in fact plenty of commons that either draw three cards with a cost (high mana or discarding a card) or with conditions, such as high-rolling. Whoops, sorry for that! I got confused, that day was super blurry (piece of advice: be wary of credit/debit card fraud). As for clock theoretian, my point was that it was too swingy. Most of those cards cost more mana or aren't really drawing you three cards purely, rather giving you a bit extra card selection. The delta is too high. Compare it to the 4 mana sorcery: it draws two cards, scries 2 and draws 2 or draws three. Yes, it is a bit swingy but it is continious and not nearly as much as going from one to three. The card is also too complicated, you need to have a creatur ein play with the correct ammount of power to make it worth it, and then you need to roll well. It can be frustrating and too much for a common. The other issue, which i did not point out, was that caring about power makes exploit much more difficult to design around. This is because the usage of small tokens as fodder is useless, so it kind of creates this weird scenario where we need to make relatively high power but low impact cards to make them worth sacrificing. I'm not saying the effect is unsalvagable, I'm saying it's too much for a common, specially as with the set already has a lot going on with the faction system, campaigns, etc. I'd say this is fine as a rare for instance, maybe buffing its stats a bit or giving it a keyword (powerlevel is not a problem for cmommon here imo, it's just the swingyness).

Art by Vladimir Kalinkin The plane of Amyral used to be a rather unremarkable place until a man named Jenzen wandered through an omenpath from his technologically advanced home plane. He quickly set to work using his technology to conquer the surrounding lands, using his tech to keep the populace under his control.

Common #1
I propose these things: - There are two factions in this set: Jenzen's () and the Amyralians' (). is a color present in both factions.
- Jenzen's side has access to metalcraft, while the Amyralians' has access to misotechny (a neologism meaning "hatred for technology") which punishes metalcraft since it cares about an opponent controlling three or more artifacts.
- Jenzen uses sci-fi robots, brainwashing devices and all other sorts of futuristic machinery to extend and consolidate his domain on the plane. The Amyralians instead use a combinaton of middle-ages warfare and folk magic to fight back against this new invader.

So to me the above addition left me with a question: Where does white sit in all this? It seems white is used by both faction but not a part of either as none of the factions is white in color. Thematically too, one if a ruthless controller trying to dominate the world and the other is a number of rebels acting out of fear due to the recent invasion (and their oppression). If both sides can be said to have some of white - control and order on one hand and compassion and humility on the other - neither side ever touches on both sides of white. They seem to be using white, but only using and never incorporating. White is therefore it's own thing, but something both factions use. Mechanically it should relate to artifacts too, but perhaps be something beyond artifacts matter in terms of mechanics. As such I ask you to imagine: Amyral is a peaceful, unremarkable plane. It has not developed much, be it technologically or magically, a single well-equipped invader could overtake it so swiftly and change their entire lifestyle with none able to oppose them. Amyral was unprepared and idyllic. The people didn't struggle to survive. Why is this? Well, how about...golems? Let's say Amyral was a plane full of golems. Ancient or recently developed, but one thing was for certain, they did pretty much all the work. They aren't particularly intelligent, but are able to and perform all manner of tasks and have a mindset that completely sets them in the path of following their tasks and orders. They love their place in the world, as well as to help society thrive. Most of the time, even if there was a conflict, they'll just keep performing their function, be it transport, healing, farming etc... But one with the right skills could take command of a golem, serving of their body for a more distinct and immediate need. I propose white ( ) be a faction of golems, employed by both sides of the conflict. They are normally just performing menial functions until someone takes control of them, and I think a good way to show this control would be with the mechanic souldbond. Amyral golems would be generally non-technological, simply animated, whereas Jenzen's golems might be new mechanical golems or otherwise modified and usurped golems from the Amyral using technology. Since you want to get rid of your opponent's artifacts anyway, one way misotechny could be used is as a drawback. While one has to be careful designing drawback mechanics, mechanics that reward you for things you want to do anyway - such as getting more power in return for keeping your opponent's artifacts in check - can be incredibly well-received like with landfall. so, I think artifact removal is going to be in an awkward spot: it's necessary for limited, but both factions need artifacts for their ability words to fully function. might be janky, but maybe something like this could work:
Bound by the Earth Enchantment - Aura
Flash
Enchant artifact or enchantment Enchanted permanent loses all abilities. As long as it's a creature, it can't attack or block. The shamans of Kyla may not have understood Jenzen's pathfinding code, but they learned how to counteract it.
imagine a roomba going in circles constantly and you get the gist of the art direction
common 5 btw

For centuries, Lovi was made a sterile utopia according to the old planeswalker Ivenge's vision: no magic, no true danger, no famine, no untamed nature, no non-Human species (well, except as pets or food, anyway), and no questions. Under these conditions, humanity's technological advancements grew more and more; under Ivenge's religious control, these developments were harnessed into maintaining and strengthening humanity's standard of living.
However, Ivenge had never erased the old world -- its raw nature, magic, and mystery -- but merely papered over the old with the new. This should've lasted forever, but outside interference caused the cover to fray; and when it did, the old world came bursting forth from underneath. Technology malfunctioned as magic re-emerged, buildings were replaced with greenery and wasteland, animals of old began to roam the earth once more -- and Lovi's old population, goblins, fae, and all, awoke.
Now, Lovi's human population stands in the middle of an ending and a beginning, abandoned by their false god. Some cling to the world they know and try to maintain it, others throw themselves into the 'new' world head-on, while the rest just try to survive. What the old inhabitants want, no one knows...
Mechanical notes: - This set cares about the graveyard. - This set cares about Human/Non-Human tribal, similarly to Ikoria.
Additional flavour notes: - There are no demons or elves. Angels once existed, but are now dying.
- There are beings associated with elements, locations, and forces of nature; they are called the Kin, and they're typed as Faerie. (For more context, see this article.) - The gods are slowly re-emerging; they are not unreachable, but walk the earth in mortal-sized shape.
- The afterlife has not yet been rebuilt; for the past few centuries, the souls of the dead were merely locked on earth, self-aware but unable to be seen or heard. Not anymore. - The naming scheme for proper nouns should be Finnish-esque; interpret that as you will.

Peer into Henkela Instant Look at the top three cards of your library. Put one of those cards into your hand and the rest into your graveyard. Agglomerate 4 -- As long as there are four or more mana values among cards in your graveyard, put two of those cards into your hand instead. Note: Henki is "life", "breath" or "spirit." Tuonela (Tuoni's abode), vainajala (vainaja's place: vainaja means "dead person"). Taking the grammatical form of Tuoni --> Tuonela and making it Henki --> Henkela, or the "the soul's abode." I think of this as this plane's version of Nyx.
