Does it need to be a complete color shift? For example, can a White Planeswalker who has only ever been Mono White be White and Black?

Yeah, there are a few entries already submitted adding a new color but keeping the "classic" one as well and as viriss indeed didn't count them as unfitting, I won't do either (which is why I submitted a green/white Garruk just a little while ago).
And yeah, we do have a black/white Elspeth submitted as well. Doesn't say you can't do another one

Here's my entry. Art will likely change later. Elspeth, Returned :2BB: Legendary Planeswalker - Elspeth (4) +2: Create a 1/1 Zombie creature token with menace. You lose one life. -4: Target opponent loses X life and you gain X life where X is the number of creatures you control. You may exile a creature they control. If you do, put an Underworld counter on it. -6: Remove an Underworld counter from an exiled creature. Then, create a token that’s a copy of it, except it’s a 4/4 black Zombie.

Karn, Corrupted Heart Legendary Planeswalker- Karn If a creature with a -1/-1 counter on it would die, exile it instead. : Distribute up to two -1/-1 counters among any number of target creatures you don’t control. : Target player exiles a card from their hand, then exiles a permanent they control. : Put a permanent card exiled with Karn, Corrupted Heart onto the battlefield under your control. If it’s a creature, it gains infect. Attachment Deleted

To master fire, one must know discipline. To know discipline is to know restraint.
To know restraint is to acknowledge your own impatience... the quality that shall be tested by The Purifying Fire. This is meant to reflect one possible aspect of Chandra that was likely exhibited while she was training at under Jaya at Keral Keep. A monastery needs monks, and monks typicial come with some sorts of doctrine to follow by. In the case of the Keral Keep monks, who trained to control fire, I think it is reasonable to claim that one could view an orderly approach to handling fire as requiring -style order and discipline. As The Purifying Fire shows, though, Chandra isn't exactly one to follow all those teachings exactly by the by the book. To that end I focused on abilities that reflected Chandra’s burn-focused aspects and combined them with White’s more "retaliatory" tendencies: - The +1 is a toned down version of Lightmine Field and 's willingness to deal damage when attacked - think Armed Response, Marrow Shards, Arrows of Justice. - I debated making the middle ability -3 "Destroy target artifact or enchantment." but none of Chandra’s signature abiltiies involve artifact/enchantment destruction. I ended up going for a bit of an unusual mix of Chandra's Revolution and Chandra, the Firebrand. - The -7 is a riff on the intersection between Chandra’s ability to mass burn everything, the occasional Red mass destruction effects like Bearer of the Heavens, and typical White boardwipes. Ultimately, the idea is for Chandra to slowly grind a player out with a "restrained" version of the burn we typically recognize her for, preferably while locking down any alternatives they may have had to disable her.

I picked Vivien Reid for this challenge.
Even though the Nura's search for progress was careless, when they had to retreat to the Smaragdi's forests to save themselves from the foul dragon, Nicol Bolas, Vivien found that she had much to learn from her old enemies. Based largely on Vivien's planeswalker deck card, Vivien of the Arkbow. If anyone can find better art for this, feel free to show it to me so I can update it for the poll. Thank you!

While Jace battles Alhammaret, Alhammaret removes Jace's sympathy and emotion, turning him into a cold, callous mindripper. Now, he wanders the planes, tearing people's minds apart in order to learn what he can, leaving gibbering husks in his wake. For what end he does this, no one knows.

I've always been curious about what sort of flavor Jace would have if black (or white) was added to him. Cool card

FleurThis is so much better than mine, at least I think. This had me thinking of changing my entry but I'll leave it. This is some really good flavor.
