Waiting for the door to break from all those kicks, Amet remembered how he first became a wizard. It was 5 years ago, when he found a really weird book just lying on the street. Full of curiosity, he opened it. It contained knowledge of life, death, but most importantly, undeath. He was too young to be a wizard's apprentice so he decided to learn magic by himself. He was patient. For the first months he couldn't use anything the book told about but he kept trying. Eventually, it hit him. He was doing it all wrong! gurfafflekins So, Dazed Solider is weak Knight of Meadowgrain. -1 stat and +ability that makes him tapped for 2 your and 2 opponent's turn is really bad. This card is just super weak. BUT I liked the flavor of it. I'd say 2/10. "I myself know nothing of this place. And even if I knew how can I know that you're trustworthy?" Amet looked at soldier, ready to flee at the first sign of agression. "If I had trusted everyone I meet I would be dead by now, you know."Barrier of Distrust Creature - Wall Illusion Defender (This creature can’t attack.)

"Well, fine then. Good luck out there, then."Barrier of Distrust: I'm not sure monoblack should get a Wall of Fog effect - in theory the discard is on color but the rest of the body isn't. Also, seeing as this is either a or , it's a little complex for those rarities. As well as the discard to destroy it is pretty meh against most decks, aggro probably doesn't mind and control doesn't care about this 0/1 anyway. 3/10.

You may cast that card without paying its mana cost. Then put all cards exiled this way on the bottom of your library in a random order.

korakhos I liked Pour through the Lore. It is really good way to show red's love for chaos. Mini-Possibility Storm is a fine addition to the collection. I think it may be a little too powerful, so I'll rate it 9/10. "My story is a secret. I ain't telling it to anyone I don't trust." - the kid was looking right into the woman's eyes without any sign of fear.

"Then I guess you'll never tell it to anyone since, let me break it to you, you should never trust anybody. People will only hurt and betray you, so you can either start breaking that act or spend your whole life looking for something that will never come to you" she replies "My name's Aylin, and if you're ever interested in a good fight you can give me a call." As she leaves she begins to think about this kid. She thinks about his luck, he could develop his talent on his own, he never had a teacher who betrayed him, never had a teacher who... as tears faintly form around her eyes, she tries to take her thoughts elsewhere.
Ancient Secretkeeper is a nice idea but with an ability that's so specific I believe it shouldn't take away from the P/T. I think it should be a 2/2 or a 1/4 and it wouldn't be an issue. 8/10.

mixedrandomjNecrotic Waves is kinda like Infest except it probably affects you less since you're likely to play it in Zombie deck. Anyway, Infest is not very good card, so I'll go ahead and rate this card 10/10"Necromatic energy? I'll sence it from miles away..." Amet whispered to himself. "I better go and have a closer look... sanscipherDuress on a creature. Pretty good balance for a commom, and I think it works for being around the common/uncommon range. 10/10. "As the zombie begins to approach the crater housing the crystal and the figure inside, the light within it sparks red this time. The burst of flames from it knockback the figure, and collapse the zombie. mixedrandomjGood old Anger of the Gods but with a few tweaks. A pretty solid card, also a good way to exile planeswalkers, which is something relatively unused. 10/10 Amet saw a zombie being in danger of burning to afterdeath, so the boy, without thinking, said the words of old ritual, disspelling heat and forcing its power to raise another zombie.Interrupting Ritual Instant Counter target instant or sorcery spell. sanscipher This type of upside/downside seems kind of weird, but interesting. A small problem is that the token is pretty specific, but that's just a small problem that doesn't affect balance as much as actual printability, and that hasn't stopped cards from being printed unless it is a real issue. Another issue is that it may be a little too much for 3 mana. Most 3 mana counters have only a small upside, even if it's two color. Stuff like absorb only gains you 3 life and it has no generic in its cost. So either the cost needs to be brought up or the effect should be weaker, such as a single small lose of life. I'll give it a 7/10. A little too clunky and a tad powerful, but otherwise interesting idea. The flames begin to calm. The light from the large crystal fades. The figure within the crater notices and begins to get out. As it gets out, you are able to see that it isn't an organic being but a humanoid sized golem made from similar crystal. It looks to you and begins to approach slowly, glowing a faint blue.Wary Study Enchantment At the end of each turn, if you didn't draw a card this turn, sacrifice ~. : Scry 1. Then you may draw a card unless an opponent pays .

Wary Study is an interesting enchantment, and I would love to play it in all of my combo decks since it allows pretty good deck manipulation and even card draw. I'll rate it 10/10, I see no flaws in it.
"Who are you?!" - the boy shouted. "Explain yourself or I'll have to take drastic measures!"

if I may give some suggestions on that: if you want to treat Wary Study as an attack (which I assume, given the in-character response) and make a card that impedes it somehow, you could maybe make some kind of one-shot Notion Thief effect to trip the sacrifice condition? otherwise if you want to treat it as a gift and make a card that supports it, you could perhaps make something that lets you pay a cost to draw an additional card (at the cost of life, maybe) whenever you draw your second card each turn. just suggestions

"Careful, boy. Those forces you get your powers from... They must have an agenda. Meddling with life beyond death directly is incredibly dangerous for us mortals."
Benediction of the High Builders Instant Return target creature card that was put into your graveyard this turn to your hand. If you control a white Avatar, you gain 4 life. The High Builders grant another chance at life to exceptionally virtuous champions. NeottolemoReturning creauters from graveyard to hand isn't white ability. It is black's duty to keep his creatures alive for extra turns. White does it rarely and usually puts restrictions like having cmc of 1 ( Proclamation of Rebirth) or power 2 or less ( Dusk // Dawn). So, I rate this card 4/10. "The only trouble I've run to is people who are too close-minded to at least TRY to understand me. If you're here to fight me, I suggest you leave now. I have no desire to cause harm unless it's the only way for me to keep my life and owers."Grave Silence Choose one — •Counter target spell that targets a card in a graveyard •Return target creature card with converted mana cost 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield.

Mmm. gets recursion from your graveyard specifically at times (most recent examples being Defy Death and Gift of Immortality probably) but I suppose adding a cmc restriction could work, yeah, sure, especially since my card's so cheap.
Grave Silence: Ok, this is missing a typeline (it's obviously an instant, but what rarity? It should probably be an :uncommon: imo). Moreover, the first option looks a lot weaker than the second one, which is pretty cheap for the cost. There should probably be some all-around rebalancing here. Maybe the second option could grab cmc 1 or less instead but be able to target cards in all graveyards, and the first option have scry 1 tacked on to it? Not a bad idea, but I have to take some points off for the missing typeline and because the balance is a little off. 6.5/10
"Fight you? No, boy. Not me. I came here to warn you. You have far darker things to fear than me. If the things you raise from the grave won't eventually try to devour you on their own, your magic itself will try to exactly that. I can hold off its influence for a short while, but I won't be able to save you forever."
Chromatic Glimmer Instant Choose a colour. Spells of the chosen colour your opponents cast cost more to cast until the beginning of your next upkeep. Any number of target players each gain X life, where X is 7 minus the number of permanents of that colour on the battlefield.
(Choosing black, targeting both Amet and Hyle.)

Chromatic Glimmer doesn't feel mono-white, I'd make it something among the lines of or as cost. Otherwise great card, 8/10. "So you want to change my life? Hate to bring ya' bad news, but you're too little too late for that. If you'd come to me, say, five years earlier, maybe I could have been someone other than an outcast. But, alas, I've already picked my path. Anf it'll bring me to my end, so be it. I didn't ask for this power but since it's mine, you're a fool thinking I'll reject it."Concealing Energy Instant Choose a color. All permanents and spells you control are the chosen color untill end of turn. (Choosing blue)

Post by Neottolemo on Jul 31, 2018 9:38:16 GMT
Well, taxing spells is also in white, but alright.
Concealing Energy: Not 100% sure but I think this needs to also make cards in your hand of that colour to fully prevent Chromatic Glimmer's effect. It should also probably say 'become' (see: Sway of Illusion and Quickchange, for example). Still, it's a neat defense and a cool response to my card, and since Concealing Energy is not black itself, it doesn't even really matter whether it prevents the first part of my card's effect or not. Now, cards like Concealing Energy usually have some kind of extra effect to be more playable even when colour doesn't matter much. Both Sway of Illusion and Quickchange draw you a card, and I think that Concealing Energy could also have 'Draw a card' added to it without changing its cost. No complaints other than that. 8.5/10
"Hmph! You're giving up without making any more effort... Perhaps you'll realise how you're wasting your time eventually. Farewell, boy."

sanscipher The crystal being stops to think. It then glows blue as a voice echos. "Ryn".Before more questions can be asked, the ground shakes, and cracks begin to form around. These cracks emit another light. Green this time, the plant life around begins to sprout and grab at both Ryn and Amet. They try to choke and strangle any life they can out of the two. Wild Force Sorcery Tap an untapped creature you control. That creature deals damage equal to its power to each other creature. It is hard to evaluate this card. Dealing damage equal to its power is green-red thing, but dealing damage to a lot of creatures is red. The closest to this card is Chandra's Ignition, which has 1 higher cmc, but doesn't tap a creature and deals damage to your opponent(s). So overall, I don't think this card is good, I'ma rate 4.5/10"What is going on? sanscipher It's ph instead of f for the end, if that was a mistype. I am also confused a little, is the pun spelling intentional? I assume so, so I'm going to say that this could get a little confusing since there is already a card named similarly, and spoken exactly the same, Polymorph. Even if it is spelt different, this could be confused for the other and vice versa, which could cause issues. Also Turn to Frog is 2 mana, while this is one. I have to say that this is close to balanced however you could actually completely ignore the one downside of this compaired to Turn to Frog, which makes this an upgrade almost all of the time. I think with a small change this could work though so 9/10. Good responce. As Amet and the Golem are freed from the vines, the golem looks back at amet and points towards the crater, with the large crystal in the center now glowing again.
Voices echo from the golem. "The Crystal". "Seal it". "Help"The large Crystal in the crater's glow changes again from green to briliant white, causing the area around to be flooded by harsh light.Flood of Radiance Instant Prevent all damage that would be dealt this turn. Tap all creatures. Black creatures don't untap during their controller's next untap step.

mixedrandomj About ph on the end you were right. And pun indeed was intended, though I can't take credit for it, it's from "Munchkin" board game. So, rating that card of yours is... hard for me. I'd definitly play that in my UW control decks. But still, something feels off in that card, for some reason. I'm going to rate it 9.5/10 "Let's see here..." - said Amet, thinking for a plan. "If I overflood the mana around it, it will have to use the same type of Magic I use, so I could redirect it back and possibly shut it down"Overflooded Mana Instant Counter target non-blue spell. sanscipher This may be too powerful considering this is basically Render Silent for nonblue decks. I don't think I want mono blue having this at 3 mana, but it actually seems like a balanced effect otherwise. I think at without the nonblue requirement would actually be better/more fun overall for both the caster and the opponent. I am going to say 8/10, because I think with a few small changes this could see print. Also great idea rp wise. The crystals light begins to dim, as its white energy is rendered starved, however now with an abundance of blue mana, the crystal begins to glow a bright blue. Blue wisps of energy begin to swirl around the area, as bolts of arcane power shoot off wildly.Storm of Influence Enchantment Spells cost less to cast for each spell cast before it that shares a card type with it. Whenever five or more spells that share a card type are cast in a turn, sacrifice ~, then each player draws five cards. "Infinite possibility. Finite time to use it"

There is a small fennec fox in a robe in the distance, scrutinizing Amet as he goes about his day. He's come to guide the boy through his confusion and ignorance, but he doesn't know what that with he must examine more carefully to completely confirm the hypothesis he definitely has. Definitely.

mixedrandomjThis card is just a mess. You need a way to keep tracks of 6 (7 if you iclude Tribal) separate types and the amount of cards cast of that type. Also this card's forst ability misses "this turn" thus making it even harder to keep track over tyme. I see the potential of this card, but I will rate it 2.5/10. "Now when it is weakened it is time to seal it!" As Amet said it, a force field appeared around the crystal, freezing it in time.Freeze in Time Enchant Artifact. Whenever enchanted artifact's ability is activated or triggered, counter it unless its controller pays enchanted artifact's mana cost. fluffydeathbringer This card feels like it should be or , not . It made him nervous so the boy ran away, into the place that was his temporary hideout.Expeditious Retreat Instant Put target attacking creature on top of its owner’s library. Draw a card. hard disagree: white doesn't prevent blocks like that (although in effect my card seems more blue than red after looking up red's anti-block style, whoops). Expeditious Retreat's a bit overcosted imo, gets 7/10
As'han has found his way to the vague whereabouts of said hideout but not quite there; unable to find Amet, the fox chooses to employ the refined stratagem of 'talk really loudly, and hope the kid ends up hearing it'.
"Oh, out of your depth indeed..." laments As'han, still wandering around looking for traces of Amet. "You profess to be a powerful practicioner of the profane and loather of long-unspoken laws, but what do you do when someone as much as glances at you? Run away! Pathetic! It is obvious to me that you claim a path you have not the strength of leg to walk! I ought to rip that power from your unworthy hands... unless..." As the fox's tone turns from chastising to teasing, he begins to exude a spell meant to inflame the victims' temper, in the form of a mist that begins spreading far. "Unless you can prove to me you have the bravery to exert yourself against those who would condemn you? No matter what? Prove it to me, and come face me?"
Provoke the Impetuous Instant Up to two target creatures attack this turn if able. Exile the top card of your library. Until the end of your next turn, you may play that card. "Tragic. The bull knows the sword is behind the red cloth, yet it can only charge." --Roselynn, Maestra of the Heart

sanscipher Yeah if I could, I would change it to just be 1 less for each spell, but then it might have been too powerful. Also yes it was meant to only be for each spell played on the same turn. I can't give this points, because this doesn't have much of anything to do with my card. Rp wise it's ok, but a card needs to be a responce to the card I sent as well. I will say though that it could say "its" instead of enchanted artifact's a second time. The crystal is halted. Nothing appears to happen soon after, possibly signaling the end. The golem looks to you and nods, seemingly satified with the result.Moment of Reflection Instant Copy target instant or sorcery spell.
