Yeah, I've just updated the two new limits including the note to #81. Also, here's my own card - I assume reminder text doesn't count as rules text (like how Basilica Guards officially has a monowhite color identity as far as Commander is concerned)? If reminder test does count, just let me know

This is a weeeeeeird set of limits. Treasured Feline Creature - Cat Enrage -- Whenever ~ is dealt damage, you may destroy target creature. 1/1 Strictly worse High Priest of Penance.

Titan of Shattered Serenity Creature - Giant Vigilance : Monstrosity X, where X is the number of artifacts and enchantments you control. When Titan of Shattered Serenity becomes monstrous, destroy all artifacts and enchantments. 2/5 I suppose this isn't strictly worse than Kalemne's Captain... you could wipe your board to get a slightly better post-monstrosity body.

I still hate this limit. The mechanic is threshold form the Odyssey block. Mystic's Macaw Creature- Bird Flying Threshold — As long as seven or more cards are in your graveyard, Mystic Familiar gets +1/+1 and has hexproof from black. 1/2 It's a worse Mystic Familiar by using the new "hexproof from" mechanic. Dishearten Sorcery Each creature gains menace until end of turn. Threshold-If seven or more cards are in your graveyard, creatures can’t block this turn. It's a more color intensive and slower Demoralize.

{forgot about first limit kek} Ironhide Hunter Creature - Human Warrior Trample Renown 2 Whenever CARDNAME becomes renowned, put two +1/+1 counters on another target creature you control. He enjoys the spoils of the chase as much as he enjoys the chase itself.4/4 Verdurous Gearhulk Ludevic's Delusions Sorcery CARDNAME costs less to cast, where X is the number of card types among cards in your graveyard. Take an extra turn after this one. "The mystery, at last!" -Ludevic, Necro-AlchemistTime Walk Leaping Daredevil Creature - Devil Warrior Haste You may exert CARDNAME as it attacks. If you do, it gains flying until end of turn. There is nowhere he will dare not go, and no one he dares not fight. 5/4 Thundermaw Hellkite

I foolishly believed I was done. This thread. Tuesday. I'll judge it. @gorgonzola , @daij_Djan: ops missed this. Nah reminder text is fine, same for name and flavour text. But only when it actually comes up naturally like prowess (as you did) or menace; no making up some keyword just to get around it or something digiman619 : 'seven' is a number word. On the topic of limit #81: I like it, but I can see why people don't. It's easy to make a powered down design, but much harder to do so in a way that feels original (which is ofc relevant to judging). Basically I guess I'm saying you should see it as an extra challenge :3c EDIT: also don't forget you can do like. A strictly worse Ancestral Recall. Or like a worse Deathrite Shaman. It's no shame to be worse than Deathrite Shaman

Well, crap. I really don't want to search for another miscellaneous mechanic and make a crappier version of one of the cards. Though I wonder how I'm supposed to make a strictly worse Ancestral Recall when I can't use number words or a strictly worse Deathrite Shaman since it has no keywords/ability words, yet alone a disused one.

Stonybrook Mystic Creature - Merfolk Parley - , : Each player reveals the top card of their library. For each nonland card revealed this way, you may put that card into its owner's graveyard. Then each player draws a card. 1/1 A strictly worse Dakra Mystic. I think.

It's time to J-J-J-J-JJJJ JUDGE digiman619 : Those were examples for the limit in general, not for this specific challenge. I wouldn't want to make it too easy :3c :3c viriss — It That BehavesIt's awkward since you can't use a number, but also can't keyword Annihilator, so it doesn't really work out. Also awkward is the lack of a power and toughness. I had good chuckle at the flavour, though. Daij_Djan — Braxian RaiderI love a good prowess one-drop and Monastery Swiftspear is a nice choice for a card that needs powering down, though it's possible it might still be a little too strong for its rarity. Regardless, locking the haste beyind Heroic was a cool and creative way of repurposing the design and differentiating it from the original, which is probably the most important thing for this challenge. CanterburyEgg — Treasured FelineKeywording the already existing Enrage ability on the High Priest was a neat trick, and the new flavour is very nice. Since there was only one real change in it only hitting creatures it feels a little unoriginal, but still a damn sight more creative than a lot of the ideas for limit #81. voltaic-qui — Titan of Shattered SerenityThe ability costing less means it's like, a bit not strictly worse I guess, in addition to the potentially larger monstrousness. Also that looks like a number but whatever. A number of changes push this card into a somewhat different direction to the original, where you'd want to play it with artifacts and enchantments and then eat them up, but doing that doesn't really seem.. good. Despite the changes I think it still feels too close to the original, like I could look at Titan of Shattered Serenity and think I'm just misremembering Kalemne's Captain, but that's probably hard to avoid with that choice of card. digiman619 — DisheartenI can sort of see your complaints, but this in particular is a very unimaginative design. Demoralize is already not that good, and this is a large downgrade and for some reason upshift in rarity. It iself is already a strictly worse Order // Chaos, so you could've played off of that, switching Threshold for a different pseudo ability. That also would've let you choose different flavour to make it feel unique. Yoshi — Leaping DaredevilReal nice use of exert here. The rarity downshift, stats and abilities make it remind me of Charging Monstrosaur and I love that it's gone from a dragon to just a guy jumping, like those old dumb cards that grant flying and then sacrifice the creature at the end of turn. I think that also justifies the red flying too, Lowland Oaf style, since it puts him out for a turn (I guess he's slightly better at landing than goblins?) miku — Impetuous InitiateOh that's a much worse Ichorid, but worse Ichorids is probably a good thing. Actually it's not strictly strictly worse, since you can embalm anywhen you could cast a sorcery whereas Ichorid is only your upkeep. There's also stuff that cares about tokens but whatever. It should probably read "another black creature card". Also it feels more red without the repeated recursion but you can't change the color so whatever. That was a lot of nitpicking but I quite like this one; it's pretty weak, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, and the redesign from a recurring horror to some reckless dumbass getting himself killed immediately is lovely, though it is a real shame that you can't make it red. amechra — Stonybrook MysticI had to look Parley up. It's kind of weird one; I think it's not strictly worse since you can pick and choose cards to put into graveyards whereas with Dakra Mystic it's all or nothing, and there's a little weirdness about being able to mill and force players to draw and I don't know, it's getting confusing. Keywording Parley and tweaking it to fit was nice, though if I'd've added an additional color it probably would've been due to getting fateseal type effects, though is group hug so I can see that too. Gorgonzola — Preventive CustodyHey it's neat. This is pretty much the power level Arrest effects are these days, so this works well, kinda reminds me of Curse of Chains which is a cool cool card. This doesn't prevent blocking though, and there's still the opportunity for instant speed abilities to be activated if the timing is suitable - can't do much about the abilities but it could trigger on upkeep instead of end step to prevent blocking.
Yoshi — Leaping Daredevil. Second place to Daij_Djan — Braxian Raider which was essentially very similar, but jumping flavour won this time.. Thanks to all of u for your entries \(^o^)/

Thank you for the win; t'was a difficult but fun challenge. Your next limits are...
LIMIT #23: Your card's color identity contains black. LIMIT #77: Murder is cool! Your card has a single word (not taken) name! (Thanks, Daij_Djan!) LIMIT #84: Conjunction, junction, that's my function! You must use a keyword in conjunction with a non-numerical, non-mana cost modifier! (Reminder text doesn't count. For example, Equip legendary creature or Splice onto instant.) Be creative! (Thanks, Yoshi!)

Creatures get -X/-X until end of turn.

I think someone's done this exact design before but whatever it's a perfect fit Jealousy Creature — Incarnation Animosity for creatures (This spell costs more to cast for each creature you control.)“The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves.” —William Penn4/3 I googled jealousy quotes EDIT: assuming custom keywords are allowed (since its obvs just anti-affinity)? If not I'm happy to think of something new, this was a surprisingly nice set of limits

Equip Just fyi, limit 3 needs your keyword to have some sort of non-numerical qualifier, like "onto instant" for splice or "for Elves" for affinity. EDIT: Nvm! Just saw you fixed it!

oddnanref: I think you'd like it to be worded like this: Dilation Sorcery/Instant (Nonexistent mana costs can't be paid.)~ enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it. Splice onto creature Just a quick question: How would this work when cast, eg., by a spell with cascade?
