Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our five-hundred and second challenge! The winners of the "Element of Suprise!" poll were BinaryBolas (left) and Lady (right) with...And the challenge issued by one of our winners was... I think keyword counters are an interesting design space that is underexplored, so design a card that uses keyword counters in an interesting way. To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

I needed to make it more general counter love, because I don't really quite like keyword counters.

Touch of Rot Sorcery Put a decayed counter on target creature. (This creature can't block. When it attacks, sacrifice it at the end of combat.) Sometimes you don't need someone dead; you just don't want them getting in the way.
This idea I had quite a while ago, is what inspired this challenge.

You'd need to use "When they do, for each creature with..." This is so you won't have to select your creature until after the sacrifice is made.

Not sure if the wording works within the rules, but I think it gets the point across

Not sure if the wording works within the rules, but I think it gets the point across As long as ~ has a flying counter on it, creatures your opponents control lose flying and can't have or gain flying. The same is true for first strike *(counters -- Some ppl said it is needed because the first mentioning of the keyword referred to the counters, others said that the counters part is not needed because it makes no difference in the end. It is up to you to use whatever you want in that case.)*, ….. . The syntax „keyword counter“ doesn’t exist in that kind of way. So for the time being you have to count all of the keywords one by one ;-)

The Harlequin I thought so. I would like the card to be a little future proofed, so I think I'm gonna stick with it as-is and just say they'd change the rules to make it work

that is why i suggested the the same is true wording that is already in use. and to be quite frankly -- everything beyond the ever greens would be a bit too much imo vizionarius

Reasonable, but there's two things to consider with that. 1. "A bit too much" has been Wizards' design philosophy for the past few years, unfortunately 2. It's not unheard of for abilities to become evergreen, so even if they stick to that as a qualifier for ability counters, it would still be a growing list.

The Harlequin and Jartis, I'd phrase it as: "Creatures your opponents control lose all abilities ~ has due to counters and can't have or gain those abilities."
