Lady Mapi Multicolor checks by color identity (something I should clarify for all multicolor related stuff, honestly), so yes it checks abilities.

ZephyrPhantom Umm so I returned back to the site a little confused on some things after reading through and was hoping if you wouldn't mind answering some questions. 1. So is this a brand new game compaired to the one on the old forum, completely clean slate 2. The call for aid with mana still kinda confuses me. You can only use a card once? it has to be an official card printed in the set specified? Is it in combination with your design or is it used to respond by itself? could you give an example of it being used 3. Hows the guest system exaclty work? do i just challenge in the format that everyone else is but don't have to make a character thing? Follow up, can you do these attacks if you have one but want to do one out of your limits for a fun challenge? 4. " You can also opt to collaborate your design attacks with other players", this and sending a card to help someone confuse me, could you explain a little more to me on how these work? including the score/points earned? 5. "a player can also design a single card to respond to multiple attacks at once" I kind of get this one but how does scoring and the format you put this in work? 6. You say you can gift a card and the example is divination. Does that mean you treat the card as if they are the ones benefiting when making the gift and therefor when they make the responce? 7 (1/2). "Alternatively, if you help defend a player while fulfilling your requirements with your cards" How do I go about doing this? do i do this on another's board in responce to them getting attacked. How does the person your defending use this in their card design/ how does it effect the attack? 7 (2/2)."the attacker rates your card out of 10 as well. You gain half that rating in Valor/Score, rounded down. If the main defender doesn't respond with a card, either by choice or inaction, you may take full valor instead. " So you get half of the valor of what they rate your card? How long is it usually to assume a defender doesn't respond. 8: Null reincaration doesn't apply any achievements? or do you just not get any achievments from the previous character, and if you did it like twice before then you get those achievements but not the ones from the character that was null reincarnated. Sorry for the long winded post, but I wanted to see if i could get back into this because it seems like fun but I didn't really understand the whole thing that much before.

mixedrandomj - Heya, welcome back! 1) Same rules, completely clean slate, how much of the 'canon' that carried over from the old one is up to ya. 2) Seems like that was an old rules text that didn't age well with the regular rule changes here. I've updated it to say "You have to spend mana multiple times if you want to purchase multiple copies of a card (max 4 per week), so choose carefully!" 3) Yes and yes. Just be clear that you're doing guest system. The way I see it the 'balance' of being a guest is that you don't get to stick to developing a consistent character and building up their sheet with Valor. 4) Collaboration: Basically if Player A and Player B decide they want to make things harder for Player C they can act as if their cards are both attacking Player C on the same board state. Player C doesn't necessarily have to treat it as such but it can be grounds for Player A and Player B to give Player C a higher rating if Player C successfully responds in a way that treated the combined attack as if it was a single board state as opposed to two separate cards. 5) So if Player A and Player B attack, and Player C feels they can handle both cards as if it was a single boardstate, they can design a card to solve that. Player A and Player B would both rate the card and C would get the sum rating as Valor/Score. 6) Tfw I meant Inspiration this entire time and no one ever caught that for 3 years, lol. Divination is a pretty bad example in this case, a "gift" should be something that in a regular game would allow you to have other players benefit as well. This is basically here to allow designers who like group-hug and political cards like Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis to make those sorts of cards without breaking their character's image. 7.1) Think of it as EDH/2HG, whichever suits the card better (relevant for uses of "team" and blocking). You post in the Board of the character you are helping and for the duration of that encounter your card targets/interacts with whichever attacker you're trying to help defend against. 7.2) Generally if someone isn't around for a week they've definitely missed the rating or are too inactive. I'll update the rules to mention that (though I am considering lowering to 4 days.) 8) Null Reincarnation's a complete reset, no achievements at all carry over to that character and every character you use from that point onward. The idea is that if you want to reset freely you don't get the benefits of committing to a character. Hope this clears up any confusion!

Requesting permission to null reincarnate...

ZephyrPhantom So, now that Equip {descriptor} creature exists, I have two questions concerning it: 1) Is it unlocked with the artificer perk despite it's not necessarily being an evergreen keyword> 2) If so, can we use the same formula for fortifications (i.e. Fortify Island land ) without inventing a new keyword for it?

Just putting it here for posterity but Neo was cleared to null. gamma3 Based on the comprehensive rules I would not consider Equip <type> distinct enough to be it's own keyword as unlike Multikicker or Partner With it doesn't modify any "core" part of how the original ability worked to make it play in a completely new way. You still have to unlock things like Legendary beforehand to print it on the card but otherwise I think Equip <type> and Fortify <type> can be treated as part of Equip and Fortify.

ZephyrPhantom So, just to clarify, Equip <type> creature and Fortify <type> land are part of the parent keywords, but you have to be able to make cards that fit the <type> descriptor in order to do so? What if you theoretically could, but don't have the appropriate type masteries? (e.g. if I wanted to do a fortification that had Fortify Island land , do I have to have Land Mastery?)

gamma3 - A ) Yes. B ) You don't need anything for Creature types, color words ("Equip blue creature" and "protection from blue" are fair game), or subtypes not locked under Spellslinger. Anything else (Card types, supertypes, etc...) require the relevant mastery. Land types are locked under their relevant color mastery. (When you're buying a "color", you're actually buying access to color identity a la EDH. This is why protection from blue is okay b/c it lacks the mana symbol.)

Not sure what the protocol is if I deleted the previous BB, but requesting to null reincarnate anyway.

Had some confusion over what "stacking" meant in terms of Reincarnation achievements, (especially since some say "Attain" something and some say "if your previous character" did something) and did some sleuthing on the old thread, so ZephyrPhantom, let me know if the rules did end up changing here. The last post on this on the old forums was in May 2015 saying that achievements count for all your reincarnations, but only once (save Enter the Infinite), so if Character 1 has perks A, B, C and Character 2 has perks A and D, Character 3 will start with 4 points. Stacking was referred to as giving this character a 5th point for the second A. This seems to have been the rule since they were introduced and it doesn't appear to have changed anywhere. The one weird thing we have for this is Evil Twin. Given that there's already a system to "unbuy" it, it does still work though. If this is how this is supposed to work, I'd suggest rewording the achievements (except maybe Evil Twin) to something like "A previous character attained..."

ZephyrPhantom: I'd like to lodge a request for an additional achievement: Homicidal Seclusion: Your previous character never called for aid. This has nothing to do with the fact that I'm currently fighting off six other players simultaneously, and I'd like to get some kind of recognition for my absurd personal hard mode.

cajun - Reincarnations and the modified Evil Twin (as in, the ability to 'unbuy' it) should both still work as they were originally intended, yeah. I'll reword them accordingly. Lady Mapi - I'll add that but in a modified form so that one doesn't automatically get the achivement by keeping their head low in-character until they can Reincarnate:

ZephyrPhantom — Is Call for Aid restricted to canon sets only, or can I purchase a set made by another user on the forums, with their permission?

ZephyrPhantom will boop with the Perk suggestion of gettin full/bonus valor from assists as well (and maybe making this and the custom aid sets like 50V half-perks or something cause 100V seems like a lot for em)

ZephyrPhantom couple observations/suggestions Tribal is treated strangely. Holistic Wisdom considers it a card type mastery, except it's a perk, and none of the other perk-only card types are needed. It also requires a second perk, but unlike Planeswalkers, doesn't get that perk built in. Think some combination of this wouldn't be unfounded: > Make Tribal a Mastery and/or give it built in Multityper (side bonus, more options for a Humility build) > Remove Tribal from Holistic Wisdom and/or have it use the standard types and at least one nonstandard type (Conspiracy, Plane, Scheme, Tribal) > Lump Tribal into Experienced Explorer since it's basically a supertype anyway --- Advanced PerksAfter playing with/against Schemes and Conspiracies, these feel kind of backwards on Schemes being Advanced and Conspiracies not, with Conspiracies generally being better at "increasing the difficulty of responding" which is the stated goal of Advanced perks. Monarch's Crown also seems very out of place in Advanced even compared to Conspiracies/Schemes, let alone the real heavy hitters. --- Achievements
I'd like to propose a more neutral name for Heroes Remembered with Glorious End, or let the achievement have an alternate name like Rest for the Wicked for the less than heroic that get this achievement :^) Also some new achievement ideas Conqueror's Pledge - Cause a multi-Board conflict (I know this one is a bit hard to judge, but I think it'd be neat to memorialize the big Arena-wide fights like Kirino and Malextros. Thinking 4+ Boards is the cutoff?) Heroic Intervention - Assist the defense of another player 20(?) times. (Not sure on the right number here, this is 100V worth of assists if they're all 5/5s) Old Fogey - Reincarnate with 2000(2500?) score. (2000 for 2000, 2500 for double Wojek Veteran) (and typo notes on existing achievments, Wojek Veteran says "Regenerate" rather than "Reincarnate", and many say "atained" rather than "attained")

I've tey are briefly mentioned in the rules and the tavern, but never actually explained in either location They're in-character items that can be 'given' as the prize of an event. Based on the organizer's choosing they can have a small ingame effect or just be purely cosmetic. @ cajun - Just want to let you know I've seen what you've posted and will try to respond when I can

Here's a janky achievement idea: Master of the Bridge: Create at least three good cards that use official beyond-the-evergreen mechanics with Storm Scale scores of 6 or higher. (A good card is a card with a rating of 6/10 or higher.) In commemoration of the new Tezzeret having literal affinity for artifacts.

I'm assuming that the colorless Phyrexian Mana symbol is to specifically require or 2 life - meaning you'd need both Tainted and One With the Void to use it, correct? And there's nothing that could represent a cost of or 2 life? (Trying to figure out if I need to grab One With the Void as my next perk in order to enable Phyrexian Mana costs.)

They colorless phyrexian symbol means or 2 life, because when it was created didn't exist. So, in fact you can't reprsent or two life with phyrexian mana. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

blueseclipse mrlozano colorless phyrexian mana isn't defined, so i'd say the player defines if it stands for or or , and if it's then it requires the perk. does anyone know how/if the Chaos abilities of planes for Planar Champion are handled? Do those just never affect BB?

does anyone know how/if the Chaos abilities of planes for Planar Champion are handled? Do those just never affect BB? I believe those would be handled by each player, much like Planechase - you always choose to roll the Planar die. So if they wanted to risk using it, they could (of course, it would be an honor system to play fair, but I think most of us are good at that). You can also choose to roll the Planar die while defending - again, honor system. Or you could dictate "I made it so I always roll it" if you want to be like that - but that could lead to some real "Ugh, this again?" moments. Edit: You could use a digital dice-rolling application or just roll an actual die, is what I mean by honor system.

This ended up coming up much sooner than expected. If you manage to spend 24 skill points beyond the starting 10, do you get two stacks of Enter the Infinite, or still just one?
