Thank you for the win Flo00!
As your move through the machine, taking advantage of the two men's disarray to explore what kind of place, no, what kind of thing you've placed yourself in, you realize there's something resembling limbs in that machine. Massive, robotic limbs of many parts that wouldn't match any anatomy something like what you used to be would be familiar with, but limbs nonetheless. You move them subtly, hoping you won't be noticed until you've mapped things out better.
"We should start the engines." Suggested the pudgy man. "In the first place, that soul was meant as fuel. It shouldn't be able to completely control the Great Machine. Sooner or later it will get sucked in and the lifeforce drained as it was supposed to."
"But sir, the para-physical interactions could grow in exponential terms if even a miniscule energy and operability levels are provided, we should avoid."
"Do you want to write down we'll need another two months to capture a soul because of your incompetence?! Turn those engines on this instant."
The tall one went and messed with some weird table with colored squares, and suddenly you felt a flow of energy around you. Suddenly there was more clarity - still not full, but certainly easier than before. If what those men had said was right, you didn't have long to make your escape though. With a push of willpower, you took control of the machine's limbs, grabbed the two men who screamed curses and damnations while you lifted them into the air and carried them outside along with the machine.
You found the outside to be an unfamiliar landscape, full of massive houses covered in glass windows. Still, you could only tell how tall the houses were by comparison with the ant-like people next to them. No matter how impressive, the houses were little taller than the mechanical body you were controlling, if somewhat clumsily. Then you heard a roar, and a push that had your limbs stumbling and barely managing not to fall over. Something else had just hit you, something as massive as this machine: A monster standing beside you, with a foot over a half-molten home.
Whatever that push had done, the flow of energy in the machine had lowered considerably. Perhaps the machine was intended to combat that monster? But if that was the case it seemed awfully inadequate given how close it came to failing in a single strike from it. Or perhaps the issue was the lack of a proper source of energy...you.
You could run away, leave the mechanical body and all the running and screaming ant-people on the ground, or you could fight with the meager strength you had left. Another alternative presented itself as well... If the machine was fueled by the lifeforce of souls, there were still two lives you were clutching with the mechanical limbs. Worthy sacrifices to their own creation, perhaps, if you'd be so callous.
Or perhaps you will give your own self after all. Let yourself be used as fuel, and the machine operate as originally intended.
What do you do?
