The winner of the "Compleated Compleation" poll was damagicgeek with... And the challenge issued by our winner was... Design a card based on an astronomical body, event, phenomenon, or device. It can be from the real world or a fictional one (such as Innistrad's silver moon).

Fermat: It's a shame that there isn't any restriction like "This card is only legal in Limited", because your entry is begging for that. In Limited, it's a fun, high-variance, highly exciting card. Everywhere else, it's going to break things. I don't know what the Munchkins will do with it, Eldrazi or something else ludicrous, but I do know that we already have decks like Indomitable Creativity/ Serra's Emissary, and that one's a bitch to play against. Your entry cuts that deck down from a 3-card combo (Creativity, Emissary, & a token maker) to a 2-card combo, and that's just terrifying.

Would, say, limiting it to the top few cards of the library suffice? I don't prefer top few style restriction especially it is direct summoning and that is only one restriction. Top few only increases volatility of the card power and has nothing to do with the impact when it succeeded. Limiting it to "creature card with the mana value less than or equal to the number of lands you control" is considerable. It doesn't take away the possibility that any creature can be emerged and forbids early time fatty. But it is not exciting while it is safety because there is no surprise that the more you have lands the more powerful creatures you summon get. Maybe thinking around "creature card with X less than or equal to Y" inspires you. Where X can be mainly power or toughness. They have a correlation with the mana value. And Y can be the number of elves you control, the largest power among creatures you control, twenty minus opponent's life, number of card type in your graveyard etc. They are paraphrased "the more turn passes the more big one you get". |
