An oldie but goodie: Gadmosvla, the Dark Bargain      Legendary Creature--Demon Wizard  Flash Flying, trample, lifelink, haste Step out  Whenever Gadmosvla, the Dark Bargain or another permanent enters the battlefield, if it was cast from the battlefield, each player draws five cards and loses 5 life. Then, each permanent on the battlefield gains flash, haste, and step out  until end of turn. 5/5 EDIT: Hradek is the actual entry, all the others are there to provide additional details, and because I mistook this Contest for a Keyword Contest (they usually require multiple submissions). Hradek the Denier   Legendary Creature--Human Vedalken Wizard Flash Step out (You may cast this from the battlefield by paying its step out cost.)
When Hradek the Denier enters the battlefield, choose one. If Hradek the Denier was cast from the battlefield, choose both instead— • You may counter target spell, activated ability, or triggered ability. • You may return another target permanent to its owner’s hand. 3/3 Krosan Hermit  Creature--Elf Shaman Flash Beast creatures you control get +1/+1 and have trample. Step out  (You may cast this from the battlefield by paying its step out cost.)
When Krosan Hermit enters the battlefield, if it was cast from the battlefield, create four 3/3 green Beast creature tokens. 1/1 Mending Spirit   Creature--Spirit  Flash Flying Step out   (You may cast this from the battlefield by paying its step out cost.)
When Mending Spirit enters the battlefield, if it was cast from the battlefield, you gain X life. 2/3 Squirrelmoose Creature--Elk Squirrel Elemental  Step out (You may cast this from the battlefield by paying its step out cost.)
When Squirrelmoose enters the battlefield, if it was cast from the battlefield, create a 1/1 green Squirrel creature token. 3/3 Slippery Eeltail Creature--Merfolk  Step out (You may cast this from the battlefield by paying its step out cost.)2/1 EDIT: Shoot, right. This should tell you how long I've been out of practice. Let's go with Hradek. |

@ sdfkjgh: Please keep in mind you need to single out one of those as your real entry.
Really wanted to use a mechanic I haven't tried in similar contests in the past - so how about splicing creatures?
Also when in doubt..

 Designed Ricochet as a way to have the spell do something after an opponent sacs or protects the target. Maybe with modal spells it could change modes too. |

 DELL-E prompt: "a shrieking black harpy flying with a stormy blue sky and ancient greek ruins in the background, digital fantasy art" Intended this to be a Harpy, but the image became a Bird, so it's now a Bird. Resonance -- Whenever you cast a spell that shares a color with ~, [effect]. Note: In addition to the new ability word resonance, this card uses a tuned variant to fateseal that specifies the player being fatesealed. {Edit history}- cleaned up the resonance templating from: "Resonance (Whenever you cast a spell that shares a color with ~, you may activate this ability from the graveyard by paying and exiling it.) Target player discards a card. Scry 2." to what is below. - Updated wording again from "Resonance -- Target player discards a card. Scry 2. (Whenever you cast a spell that shares a color with ~, you may pay and exile ~ from your graveyard for the stated effect.)" to what it is now. (Taken from Kozilek's Return.) This makes it a much wider ability, and no longer needs an alternate template. |

Riposte Instant ~ deals 3 damage to target attacking or blocking creature. If you have first strike proficiency, ~ instead deals 6 damage to that creature. (You have first strike proficiency if you control three or more permanents with first strike.)

Fermat: "Having the advantage" is too generic a phrase to pair it with just having the most life. There've been many a game where I had the most life throughout the entire game, but I still lost, and was in a losing position the entire time. Contrarywise, I've also had many a game where I managed to turn things around to an overwhelming board position at single-digit, and even single point, life totals. To me, "having the advantage" means controlling more permanents*, and that holds true for a greater majority of cases than either higher life totals or cards in hand. *And this is what Robin Hood should've looked at, NOT cards in hand! If you're stuck at one or two lands, and everything you can cast starts at 3, of course you're gonna have more cards in hand that your opponent! Meanwhile, you're forced to watch as every single land that could get you out of that situation is vacuumed down the exile drain, and your opponent can continue to overdevelop their own board, often with your own things against you. It's a pretty incompetent, fascistic Robin Hood who steals from the poor and gives to himself.
