Oh. I should judge this. I'll judge this tomorrow. Here you go: {bagz}I don't really know what I should judge here. Your first entry is the only one that meets the requirement of the challenge (having a hybrid cost). For your first design: I totally agree with gamma3. Your last one: Has a few wording issues. Looks like a nice powerhouse for a Merfolk deck. Being legendary is a good way to balance this out. Wording: Since Merfolk is a creature type, it's capitalized. You're missing Add in front of the mana. "..., Merfolk creatures you control get +0/+2 and have hexproof." (or gain hexproof, I'm not sure about that one.) And it would be really nice if you would just edit the first post instead of making a new one for every new design. You can keep the old ones in spoilers to keep some kind of desgn history. {viriss}Fun card. I like it.
{Akai Ryu}Quite flavourful. It's repeatable but since it needs some setup or the right environment around it, I guess it's still ok.
{monger}Fun card. Looking at Stensia Bloodhall (and maybe Shivan Gorge, but I've never seen that one played), I think the ability could cost even less. {kinotherapy}A nice twist on filterlands. I'm sure this would be nice to play.
{winner} viriss congrats! Second place goes to Akai Ryu

Daij_Djan not to be pedantic, (except, yes, totally to be pedantic) but boarder is someone being boarding a train or being boarded somewhere, border (no "a") is the outline of a shape, or in this case, card.

Useless Island Land- Island Mana abilities of ~ can't be activated. :^) Attachment DeletedXitaa, Through the Blind Eternities Legendary Land When ~ enters the battlefield, exile target land you control until @ leaves the battlefield. @ has all mana abilities of the exiled land. Whenever you tap @ for mana, add one mana of any type it produced. actually this can produce blue mana and it's island status is... debatable, so I'll prob rework

{Old Version} Wording on the last ability may be a bit off, but I think it reads easily enough. I was thinking it wouldn't necessarily be as utterly devastating as it first seems, since so many dinosaurs are white or green, meaning it's really easy to play lifegain. And it helps out with certain really heavily color weighted cards, like Gigantosaurus, as well as allowing a three color deck to play the one blue and one black dinos. Edit: Thanks for the feedback. I've used the suggested wording since two people backed it. XD

Seconding this change because as is you can easily break the 3rd ability with Repel the Abominable.

I'm sorry about the delay. I have been quite busy this week with a different MSE „project“, but I've been slacking off a bit still.. But finally, let's take a look at your entries! Chained FortressLegendary Land When Chained Fortress enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless you return an Island you control to its owner's hand. , : Exile target creature until Chained Fortress exiles another creature or you lose control of Chained Fortress.
I have two issues with this concept: First of all, why the blue activation cost? Flavor aside, this ability is clearly white and not blut (even if blue sometimes gets blink effects. That aside, this doesn't fit modern land design rules, as it has no ability to add mana, tutor a different land, reduce costs or similar. Xitaa, Through the Blind EternitiesLegendary Land When ~ enters the battlefield, exile target land you control until ~ leaves the battlefield. ~ has all mana abilities of the exiled land. Whenever you tap ~ for mana, add one mana of any type it produced.
Technically, Xitaa is able to pruduce blue mana given it exiled a fitting land, so it doesn't completely fit the challenge, but I'll let it slide That aside, the concept reminded me of Lotus Vale when I first read it, but I'm afraid it's mostly a complicated Reflecting Pool.. The Lost WorldLegendary Land : Add . , Sacrifice a creature: Add . Spend this mana only to cast a Dinosaur spell. , : Whenever you cast a Dinosaur creature spell this turn, you may pay life equal to its power instead of paying its manan cost.
This is.. an interesting concept. The first two abilities are definitely solid, and I'm glad you changed the third one – even if I'm still slightly concerned abou it for (I guess) quite obvious reasons. Then again, I guess it has the highest abuse potential in Commander thanks to the higher starting life total. Isolated BiomeLand ~ enters the battlefield tapped. When ~ enters the battlefield, exile target creature you control. : Add to your mana pool. , Sacrifice ~: return the exiled card to the battlefield under its owner's control.
I really like this concept. I guess I'd prefer a may-clause, and the card might be a better fit for a rare, but otherwise this is a pretty cool card. Fisherman's SandbarLand , Sacrifice Fisherman's Sandbar: Search your library for an Island card and out it onto the battlefield tapped. Then shuffle your library. , , Sacrifice Fisherman's Sandbar: Search your library for a Fish card and reveal it. Shuffle your library and put that card on top of it.
This is a completely solid design. I guess the second ability could tutor the card directly into your hand without breaking the card (especially considering the powerlevel of existing Fish cards ) – but that aside I really love this card. {And the winner is..} This was a tough decision, to be honest. In the end, I decided to give the win to melono with ZephyrPhantom as insanely close runner-up!

Thanks for the win! I was torn between making it a may-clause or a forced exile, but I wanted to make it an uncommon, so I made it a bit worse with the forced exile. Maybe it's indeed still a rare though. And a may clause may be more fun.
Anyhow, the next land challenge! Make me a land that affects one or more other lands on the battlefield somehow

Judging time! It's in the spoilers: {Flo00} {Flo00} Spreading Chromesea Land Spreading Chromesea enters the battlefield tapped. Lands you control have “ : Add one mana of any color. This land deals 1 damage to you.” Spreading Chromesea is excessively powerful, and essentially makes all your lands City of Brass, Mana Confluence or a Grand Colliseum, whichever you prefer. 4 of these would allow players to care very little about the drawbacks of having multiple colors in their decks. This card has to be at least legendary, and even then it is arguably too powerful. It would allow for more colours within decks though. {Jartis} Mycelium Fields Land Mycelium Fields enters the battlefield tapped. At the beginning of your upkeep, target land you control or target nonbasic land becomes a copy of Mycelium Fields. : Add or
This card has a cool mechanic, where it allows for the user to first slowly, then exponentially turn their available lands into something possibly more useful. It also allows for the player to block their opponents' useful nonbasic lands, though at the cost that the opponent can now do the same to you. Fun card. {ZephyrPhantom} Reflector PoolLand ~ enters the battlefield tapped. When ~ enters the battlefield, you may put a reflection counter on target land you control. : Add . : Add one mana of any color that a land with a reflection counter on it could produce. Elegant design, that allows for it to be a strong land if you already have a strong land that produces all kinds of mana (but Reflector Pool won't have any possible drawbacks). You still have to have that good land though, making this card imo work nicely in the uncommon rarity. This card also works nicely if you have multiples of this card, as multiple reflection counters will be spread among your lands. A lesser but more fun and more decision-heavy Reflecting Pool. So, the winner: {Winner}It was a close one, but ZephyrPhantom's Reflector Pool is the winner, with Jartis' Mycelium Fields as a close second.

Thanks for the win.
Next challenge: Quartets are Magic's ever-perplexing red-headed design stepchild, as reflected by the sheer amount of support for tricolor and five-color compared to it. Your challenge is to to try and make a land that has four different colored mana symbols in its text box. Note that this doesn't necessarily mean those mana have to be added by the land.
