A bedraggled woman in a white coat stumbles down the winding roads of the Arena, weakly asking for help from any passersby. Most give her a wide berth, put off by the strange undulations over her skin. After a while, she stops and collapses onto her knees, dry-heaving violently. A rat scampers by on all fours, then stands up and stares at the woman. "Ah, listenin' for worms, are ya? I've got the jus the thing you need!" the rat says, digging around in the pouch on his back, "A gen-u-wine dowsing rod!" He triumphantly raises a Y-shaped stick above his head.

A man approaches you: "I heard you were interested in messing with physics, here." He tosses a mechanical cube at you. "Could you do me a favor? If you can find a strange red orb, I'll be grateful. By the way feel free to pop by Theret, and my room above the tavern, also I am running a tourney interested? The prize is the orb I'm hunting as a matter of fact." (Gift)

(Making a small post here to let everyone know I am changing MYA's characterization and personality, and so any interactions with her before this is rendered null. Obviously the points still happened, but for the purposes of roleplay, they didn't happen. Hope that's clear!)

Due to an accidental error on my part, I designed an instant for MYA despite not having unlocked that type mastery. To remedy this, I will be ignoring the valor gained from said design, and I will be buying instant type mastery at the first opportunity I have to buy things. Apologies for this.

MYA is being nulled due to chronic stabbed to death syndrome. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{MYAs character sheet} On one of the many streets of the Arena, a very strange-looking woman lays on the ground, her ear pressed up against it. The healing spell appears completely ineffective, Avis' only reaction being a small shudder across her body. Suddenly, the flesh on her back splits apart, razor-sharp teeth appearing along the tear as a horribly large mouth forms in front of Aelewin. Avis manages to choke out an "I'm... sorry..." before the maw on her back lurches forward, partially yanking her upwards as it tries to take a bite out of Aelewin.
Aelewin, Impatient Heir - Very simple and generic, doesn't make a lotta sense as a legend, but I can't really talk to unnecessary legendary typing lol. 7/10
Momentary Feeding Instant Until end of turn, if an opponent would gain life, instead you gain that life and that opponent loses that much life.

Aelewin's mastery of the Smiling One's gifts involved a lot of trial and painful, painful error The mouth melts back into Avis' back as she lurches around, facing Aelewin with a look of distress. She convulses momentarily, and a long, fleshy tendril forces its way out of her mouth. It has a large bloodshot eye on the end, and seems much longer than could physically fit inside Avis' body. It flies straight for Aelewin's sword, aiming to wrap itself around the blade and yank it away. As it does, Avis' left arm loses its shape and extends outwards, becoming another tendril like the one attempting to disarm Aelewin, except it has another mouth rather than a large eye on its end. That tendril swings out and launches itself towards Aelewin, attempting to attack the elf from both sides.
Smoke-Form Manuveur - Maneuver is spelled wrong but that's not a huge issue. Fine sidegrade of the usual Undying Evil stuff we get at common, though the fact it returns untapped could get complicated. 8/10
Aberration's Edict Sorcery If a creature would die this turn, exile it instead. Target player sacrifices a creature.

Zero considers the strange woman from afar. She does not appear to be consumed at this distance, but her readings were rarely wrong.

joining the attack against Avis!
Both sword swings land on their mark, severing both tendril's appendages and causing Avis to let out a high-pitched screech, unlike any noise a human should be capable of making. The tendrils slither back into her body, leaving the pieces on the ground to wriggle around pointlessly. Avis looks between the two with a terrified expression on her face, before she drops backwards onto all fours. She begins scuttling backwards away from Zero and Aelewin, her fingers splitting apart into dozens of additional tendrils to make her move much quicker. "H-hurts... Hungry..." She says, clearly hoping to make a quick retreat to safety.
Severing Slash - Seems like more of a combo tool than an actual removal spell. Dunno how black that is. 6/10
Overhead Strike - Weird card, but I'm kinda into it. 8/10 Protective Flesh Instant As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a creature. Target creature you control gains indestructible until end of turn. Tap it.

Avis nods quickly. "Y-yes... Food... G-good..." She looks a little perplexed by Zero, talking as though she's familiar with Avis. "T-this... manner?" She asks before she can stop herself, before quickly convulsing and heaving forwards as a visible lump forces its way up her throat. She gulps it back down with a shuddering breath, and gestures for Zero to lead the way.
Dine and Dash - Neato modal spell. Love the name and mechanics combination. 8/10 Crossroads Warden - Nice simple uncommon duder. Not much to say. 9/10
Grudge Wallower Creature -- Skeleton Warlock Deathtouch Whenever an opponent casts a spell, if it's modal, that player loses life equal to the number of modes they chose. Otherwise, they lose 1 life. "Face your decisions and choke on those who were harmed from it."

Aelewin stands behind Avis and Zero, sword still drawn, eyeing them both off with a degree of wariness. This whole encounter has them unsettled, both due to the inhuman nature of their current companions; and due to the nature of Avis' transportation. Contrary to Zero, they had seen things like this before, and despite the rational knowledge that they were unlikely to be of the same source, it did nothing to quite Aelewin's unease. First the strange woman, with her uncomfortably familiar yet starkly different mannerisms that harkened to a chiasucro of Aelewin's past; and now this.Grudge Wallower: This is cool, nice how it answers both me and cajun really cleanly. 10/10Phantasm of Times Past Creature - Nightmare You may have ~ enter the battlefield as a copy of a creature card in your graveyard, except it has "Whenever a creature leaves the battlefield, each player loses 2 life." On the Arena, Aelewin came face to face with that which brought up memories they thought long buried.2/2

Avis follows Zero without protesting, looking down and trying to avoid all physical contact. She gets visibly more uncomfortable as more people show up around the group, but steels herself and continues on, swallowing down any suspicious lumps that appear in her throat. Once they reach the bakery, Avis nods at Zero to wait outside with Aelewin, though she eyes Aelewin warily while Zero is gone. The moment Zero returns with the loaf, Avis immediately tries to grab it out of her arms. If Zero lets her grab it, she wolfs down the entire loaf in seconds, her mouth splitting open along her cheeks to open wider. After she finishes eating it, she visibly becomes less shaky and uncomfortable, and her skin's undulations fade away. She lets out a shuddering sigh of relief and says "T-thank you. It's satisfied for the next hour or so." She moves to an empty table and sits down. "Now... we can talk."
Phantasm of Times Past - Weird Body Double variant. I'm all for Body Double effects but the ltb effect feels out-of-place. 7/10
Bargaining Chip - Love this so much. 10/10 Sorcery Return target creature card from a graveyard to the battlefield under your control. It gains "You can't lose control of permanents you don't own" for as long as you control it.

It gains "You can't lose control of permanents you don't own" for as long as you control it. Aelewin chooses to let Zero continue with the line of questioning, embarking on some introspection themself. It was becoming abundantly clear to them that Avis was not an element of their past, but the similarities remained, and that sent shivers through their spine - the thought that on other planes, aberrations such as those they had nearly become existed.Perhaps it was better to listen, and to learn what had created this creature.Death's Directive: Oh this is neat. Little gimmicky though. 8/10
Terlax's Transformation Instant As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a creature. Create a 4/3 black Horror creature token with deathtouch and menace. "Step into my light, and accept your new form." - Terlax, the Smiling One

She puts her fingers together and leans forward. "So, to answer your questions."
"'Only an hour?' It prefers meat over any other food. While any food calms it down, fresh meat calms it the longest.""'What is 'it?'" She tilts her head slightly. "My memory is a bit foggy, but I believe It is a Class-10 multiversal parasitic organism." She smiles again. "Or, in layman's terms, it's a really damn powerful leech that decided my body was its new home.""And 'what happened to you?'" Her face falls. "That's a difficult question to answer. Suffice it to say, my peers sacrificed me for science. Is that enough of an answer for you? I doubt you want to hear my life story."
