With that all said, here's the challenge: - Vraska: Hey, why are we doing this column?
Jace: Something about Ral being too famous around here lately. He's been copyrighted.
Vraska: So we're bootleg Ral.
Jace: I prefer "new and improved casters."
Vraska: Funny because our material's the opposite of that. Your challenge is to make a deck featuring any number of cards on the the Reserved List.
Jace: We considered banning the Power Nine, but that ended up being less fun to argue about. Telling us why Boris Devilboon would be okay in Historic is as equally valid as designing a starter deck featuring Black Lotus!
Good luck to all partcipants! Please remember: You're not allowed to vote for yourselves. |
(Pauper)
{Comments}A prowess+heroic deck that's about boosting your heroic creatures, and at the same time boosting your prowess creatures, using cantrips. |

(Pauper)
{Comments}So yeah, in the end I just couldn't resist making a Pauper deck from Magic's most expensive collection of rares The deck features two copies of Anaba Ancestor as well as for the lol'z a single Anaba Spirit Crafter (to be fair, it's not like we have any other good Minotaur lords at common) |

(Legacy)
{Comments} AT-TEN-TION!This is your local Telim'Tor advocate, Kasib ibn Naji, calling to remind you maggots that We execute ALL Dissenters!(Legacy)The basis of this deck is to rush out an Abyssal Persecutor or Demonic Pact as fast as possible using Dark Ritual or Lotus Petal to cause a lot of damage very fast. We invalidate the pesky can't-win or you-lose clauses by following up with a Telim'Tor's Edict, Perilous Research, Donate to 'execute' our dissenter in way that hopefully causes our opponent to lose the game in the process (Getting rid of a Persecutor when opponent is at negative life, donating a Demonic Pact when the only choice left is "You lose the game", etc...). Even if we don't defeat the opponent this way, we do draw cards and gain advantage to get additional fodder to pitch to Force of Will, and failing that, we can pitch most of our executioner-style cards this way to it if we don't need them. |
