Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our three-hundred and second challenge!

The Winterfall     Sorcery  Exile all nonland permanents. For each enchantment exiled this way, gain 4 life. For each artifact exiled this way, ~ deals 2 damage to any target. For each creature exiled this way, draw a card and lose 1 life. And then, there was silence.

I always end up making legendary creatures when I get into three colors. Might try doing something non-legendary later, but for now, big nightmarish spider monster.

Creature - Human Shaman  Trample Whenever Provocative Mystic deals combat damage to a player, that player reveals a card at random from their hand and you add X mana in any combination of  ,  , and/or , where X is the converted mana cost of the revealed card. Until end of turn, you don’t lose this mana as steps and phases end. 3/2

![]() More or less what I'm hoping for with the Zendikar Commander set later this year: Myrevyn, Oran-Rief Reclaimer  Legendary Creature - Elf Druid Deathtouch, Vigilance You may play an additional land on each of your turns. You may play land cards from your graveyard that weren't put there this turn. 5/4 "I will undo what the eldrazi have wrought, my vengeance will be when they are all but forgotten"
Edit: Slightly changed the 'Crucible' ability so that you can't play the same Wasteland from the grave twice a turn. Sorry for the dated card frame, never could get the update to work with my MSE. |

Bloodletter Baron Creature - Vampire Noble Flying, lifelink Whenever another Vampire enters the battlefield under your control, choose one: - Bloodletter Baron deals 2 damage to any target and you gain 2 life. - Target vampire gains haste and first strike until end of turn. 2/3 That first mode will gain you 4 life, due to lifelink. It probably reads better without the extra life gain. |

Aarhg I definitely set out to make my entry an enchantment, but at that point you're doing something so specific that you might as well let people build Commander decks around it, right? In other news, I've never been less comfortable using a piece of art for a contest entry. Within the rules, I think, but still.

Are those plus-symbols supposed to be mana symbols? --- Riotous Growth - Sorcery -  Draw a card, then you may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield. Then Riotous Growth deals damage equal to the number of lands you control to target creature. |

Sharuum, Restored Arbiter  Legendary Artifact Creature — Sphinx Flying ~ enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it. As ~ enters the battlefield, for each opponent, that player exiles cards from the top of their library until they exile a nonland card. Spells that player casts that share a type with that card cost  more to cast for each +1/+1 counter on ~. 4/4

Been playing with ways to use the leveler template  (EDIT) QUESTION: Would it be more balanced if I switch the P/T for the two forms? Form 1 seems ideal every time now that I think about it. |

Foamy here is the commander for my squirrel themed un-commander deck. {Foamy the Squirrel} Foamy the Squirrel Legendary Creature - Squirrel Advisor Eminence — Whenever you roll a 4 or higher on a die, if Foamy the Squirrel is in the command zone or on the battlefield, create a 1/1 green Squirrel creature token. Squirrellink (Damage dealt by this creature also causes you to create that many 1/1 green Squirrel creature tokens.)At the beginning of your upkeep, you may return a card with the word ‘squirrel’ on it from your graveyard to your hand. 3/3 {Render}  |

@cyanogynist: That last ability seems like an interesting tweak on grandeur.
@donovan_Du_Bois: I don't know, man. Foamy's character seems like he'd be base for the anger and frustration at the stupidity of the world, and for the knowledge that he has. If there's any third color, then I'd say it's , because he so desperately wants to bring everyone else up to his level by sharing that knowledge. So, Jeskai, not Abzan. But that's just my interpretation of the character. I haven't watched one of those videos in decades, so the characterizations might have changed since then. |

sdfkjgh: The card was built as a commander to a Squirrel deck first and the character was just used because it was my favorite Squirrel character. Squirrels are in and token synergy is in so that's how the deck was built, with the card being built to command it. If I built Foamy as a top down design instead, I agree that he's probably Izzet, Grixis, or Jeskai.
