Introduction
Hello all. I am Kebelqwa, formerly isaac the awesome. I've been making custom magic sets for a long time. Around 2010, I began to familiarize myself with the MSE software. I began like most, making the odd one-off card that didn't exist (at the time.) Eventually, I started to become more creative with my designs. Becoming inspired by the sci-fi death metal aesthetic that was the Scars of Mirrodin block. I've created eight sets in the nearly eight years I've had this hobby.
Design Philosophy
Each of my sets I constantly scrutinize my work, asking myself what I would do if I did it over again. My first two sets Remnants and Foragers were me dipping my toes in the water and essentially figuring out that I had know idea what I was doing and that if I wanted to understand essential design principles, I would have to become a tournament player. Ever since Return to Ravnica block, I have been a consistent standard player. After analyzing the myriad number of sets released by wotc every year, I began to realize that reprints were common in standard legal sets. (less so now with supplemental products like the commander decks and innovation sets) Even today though I see some designs that have been rehashed to fit the themes and mechanics of any given set. I began to realize that there isn't anything fundamentally wrong with that. Using something that is tried and true gives you more ability to invest your energy in card designs that make a set shine rather than trying to mechanically justify something that has already been done.
Community Activities
Over the years I have made many cards and also made many templates. I scanned in the frames of the conspiracy take the crown conspiracy cards and created the first working version of that template. Same thing with vehicles when Kaladesh came out, though there were some differences in saturation from scan to scan mostly due to high variance in printing quality at the time. Tried to make an energy symbol, got my version to work, you just need to highlight an "E" and click the star button by bold and italic in the program. If you have it installed correctly it should work. The way I have my mse currently set up is with Cajun's MSE Mainframe templates. I cannot suggest them enough.
Hot takes and/or Flawed Opinions

Planeswalker Aristocrats will be a deck before 2033
Asymmetrical cards that have the word "can't" on them are unfun.
Brawl is doomed
Food being an artifact in play is more powerful than sacrificing it for life.
