Sprouting Vastwood: This seems eminently fair, if a touch unexciting. Given Khalni Garden, I'd say this would be acceptable at common. Also, the 'v' in the name should be capitalized. 8/10. Valech is an interesting take on mana fixing planeswalker. I was going to say how would you have gotten the green since you aren’t multicolour, but then I reread the ult and the minus 1. The Ult itself even though he is a land based walker should probably be permanents you control, based on the power level of amulet of vigor. All in all, a specialized slightly above-average Planeswalker that uses my land as a nice gift. I hope to see how Valech can improve in his future 7/10 (it was 6/10 until I rereread the minus 1) (This is just a request, but you could sort your cards by Planeswalker subtype if you like to collect them on your title thread, in case you use the same Planeswalker character more then once.) A deep hearty laugh echoes from jungle. “Right you are. The jungle speaks and wants to claim you as its own. You must conquer it as I have before it conquers you.” A rapid buzzing increases in volume amidst the moving plants.Buzzing RotdartLand - Animus Flying Buzzing Rotdart can’t block. Buzzing Rotdart enters the battlefield tapped. : Add . ::: Buzzing Rotdart becomes a Plant creature until end of turn. 2/1

Ruthless Edict: Fairly costed and efficient; likely to see constructed play. I'd have been tempted to make the creature edict check toughness, for symmetry, but I have no real objections to the card. 9/10 "Three reasons, Obris—you don't mind if I call you Obris, do you? First, I've spent the majority of my career being weak, forced to rely on wit and compromise to accomplish my goals, and old habits are hard to break. Second, I'm here to teach, and if my agents only know how to act from a position of strength, my organization is vulnerable. Finally, I must admit was curious as to how you'd react." "Director, if you'll allow me?" "Go ahead." "We deal in pleasantries, yes, when needed. We do not compromise, we do not give tribute, and we most certainly do not kneel. Nevertheless, we are quite willing to cooperate with other powerful entities for mutual gain. Do you intend to be such, or would you prefer to get in our way and find out what happens next?" Janika, Proud Sentinel Legendary Planeswalker — Janika : Create a 1/1 white Soldier creature token with defender. : Untap target creature. It gets +3/+3 until your next turn. : You get an emblem with "Whenever a creature you control blocks, it gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of blocking creatures you control." Starting Loyalty: 3 Note that the + creates sac fodder and brings her out of edict range, and the 0 brings a creature out of edict range.

"That young, arrogant, lord was here, wasn't he?" Dracodeus croaks quietly as he prowls into view. "In any case, if you plan to use this place as a training ground, its previous caretaker would certainly have approved."
Deceiver Probe
Artifact - Contraption (Contraptions begin the game in the Contraption deck until they get assembled. Contraptions go to the scrapyard when destroyed.)At the beginning of your upkeep, you may pay . Obris gives Rettai and Janika a long, steely glare, then a nod. "I will consider it." With that, he turns on his heel and departs.
On Janika, Proud Sentinel: Smart way to neuter both of my card's modes, and a very good-looking planeswalker design overall. From a game experience perspective, I'm a little cautious about a planeswalker that encourages blocking this much, but one card is unlikely to set the world on fire in that regard. 9/10.

Conjoined Destinies: This is significantly stronger than Deploy the Gatewatch; that and Kindred Summons are the two best comparisons I could find. Particularly given that in a near-creatureless deck this is six mana for, say, an Emrakul and an Ugin, or some similarly nonsense pair of threats, I think this is likely too efficient of a control finisher, especially in eternal formats and EDH. I'd increase the cost at least 1, maybe even 2. Still, it's a neat effect. 7/10. "Oh, you've heard of us? Excellent! Certainly, we're always looking for skilled recruits. We do all sorts of good for the Multiverse, helping stranded planeswalkers, preventing war between planes, researching—" "—researching how to stop talking before giving away classified information, perhaps?"Tam, Novice Recruiter Planeswalker — Tam : Exile the top card of your library. if it's a creature or planeswalker card, you may play it this turn. : Gain control of target creature or planeswalker until end of turn. It gains haste until end of turn. If it's a creature, put a +1/+1 counter on it and untap it. If it's a planeswalker, put a loyalty counter on it. : Each player may put a creature or planeswalker card from their hand onto the battlefield. Those permanents gain haste. Their controllers sacrifice them at the beginning of the next end step. Starting Loyalty: 2
Buzzing Rotdart: I'm not a huge fan of the animus mechanic, but that's not your fault and I won't grade you down for it. The ETB tapped clause should be first, but it's a mechanically slick card, and I could imagine a whole cycle of these off-color-activation animus lands. Flying is perhaps a bit of an odd choice for the BG one; perhaps if it had vigilance as well? 9/10. "Belmonte. Enough fooling around. A proper explorer would have mapped this place already." "Ah, right! On it! Give me a few seconds to get this survey thopter working..."Valech the Topomancer Planeswalker — Valech : Scry 1. : Create a 1/1 Thopter artifact creature token with flying and "Whenever this creature deals combat damage to an opponent, draw a card." : Gain control of target land. Starting Loyalty: 3
I'll get to the rest of you later.

This Valech keeps the theme of using land well still adding something new, showing is explorer qualities. I like how one of the abilities isn't just an answer to my card. The thopter generated, nets you a card when it hits which I can't block, trades with the buzzing and the ult well a little underwhelming is amazing, I'd make the ult actually grab two lands for -6. 9/10 (So close to being a 10/10) I'll try to avoid to many Animi with you then The thopter starts it survey and the buzzing follows it off deep into the thick jungle. The forest inside the jungle is everchanging each tree, plant and fungus moving as if it had a will of it's own. A barrage of nuts pelt it as it approachs a nonplant figure in the jungle.Flingnut GroveLand : Add . , : Flingnut Grove deals 1 damage to target creature with flying.

Kirino Oblay walks in casually, as if she has every right to be here.
"You know, you never introduced yourself when you rudely interrupted my lunch the other day. My poor sainted mother would have been so very offended at your lack of manners." She pauses, then continues, eyes sparking.
"Keep your nose out of my damn business, alright? Or do I need to remind you that my specialty is fucking with people just like you. Don't think you're anyone special just because you've got friends in high places."Manic Fluttering - Enchantment - Aura Curse Enchant player. Whenever enchanted player puts one or more counters on a permanent, Frantic Intensity deals 1 damage to any target they control. A heart that beats twice as fast wears out twice as fast.
She notably brightens as the sparks die away. "If you and your kids behave yourselves, I know a wonderful place to get flavored ices on Kinshala."

Deceiver Probe: This doesn't behave remotely how I'd expect a contraption to behave, particularly not interacting with sockets in any way; that would be acceptable, except this is also a very weak card. Still, I suppose it's opening up new design space for contraptions; despite that, I don't feel like I can rate it more than 6/10. "Information control? I can manage that."Safir, Information Broker Planeswalker — Safir : Target opponent reveals their hand. You may choose a nonland card from and exile that card. If you do, they draw a card. : Target opponent reveals the top card of their library. You may exile it. : Each opponent loses life equal to the number of cards they own exiled with Safir, Information Broker. Starting Loyalty: 2 "A previous caretaker—could you by any chance tell me more about them? I must admit a lack of familiarity with the history of this place."
Flingnut Grove: Slightly too efficient, I think, given how scarce repeatable removal on lands is these days. Still, it's acceptable as-is. 8/10. "I see. Perhaps I should make this a team exercise, Valech, and in the future you'll reconsider how much you boast about your cartographical prowess?" "All right, I'm patched in to the 'thopter. Safety limiters are off, increasing thrust to 140% maximum..."Diamondback Britt Planeswalker — Britt : Put a +1/+1 counter on up to one target artifact creature. : You may sacrifice an artifact. If you do, create a 2/2 colorless Hound artifact creature token. : Destroy target artifact or land. Diamondback Britt deals damage equal to that permanent's controller equal to its converted mana cost. Starting Loyalty: 2 "Britt, don't—oh, why am I even bothering? Just try not to crash it."Makes the thopter too big to kill, or replaces it with something to grounded to hit.

Sandblast Capsule: This is a beautiful, clean design that I'm confident would be a stellar early draft pick. Perhaps too good of an early draft pick for its rarity, in fact; this sort of on-board trick tends to be uncommon these days. 9/10 "Lovely to meet you. I'm Rettai Ba'alzur, with the Seventh Circle Initiative. I run the place, in fact, at least until Amitai gets back. If Amitai gets back. His last message was somewhat concerning. Anyhow, enough of my troubles—who are you? What brings you here?"Britt, Freelance Scoundrel Planeswalker — Britt : Untap target permanent. If it's an artifact, you may put a charge counter on it. : Target creature gains hexproof and prowess until end of turn. : Gain control of target artifact for as long as you control Britt, Freelance Scoundrel. Starting Loyalty: 2 "Say, is this a bomb?" The young woman tosses the capsule casually back and forth between her chromesteel hand and her flesh one. "It doesn't look like a bomb, but this bit's a trigger with a timer attached—are you from Feraguo? Your coat and your weapons reminded me of Feraguo. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself—I'm Britt! I'm from the future!" She tucks the capsule under her arm, and extends her prosthetic for a handshake.
Manic Fluttering: A most ingenious curse, albeit likely limited to sideboard tech. Neat flavor, too. 10/10 "Ah, my apologies, Kirino. That was indeed impolite of me. I'm Rettai Ba'alzur. I'd like to think we can get along rather better than Janika—my student, who you met the other day—may have implied; she is perhaps a bit overeager. Suppose I keep my nose out of your business, you try not to provoke anyone into an interplanar war, and we both calm down and enjoy these flavored ices you speak so highly of?"Marcel of the Lost Planeswalker — Marcel : Prevent all damage that would be dealt to up to one target creature this turn. : Exile target noncreature artifact or enchantment. : You get an emblem with "During your turn, prevent all damage that would be dealt to you and permanents you control." Starting Loyalty: 2

Brit is a very good artificer, the would probably be better as I'm a big fan of two mana walkers and love how she plays with valech and beats my card very well 9.5/10 The thopter charges at high speed through the fruits being flung and makes it's way towards the figure. Starting Loyalty: 2 Marcel seems fair, if a bit unexciting outside of his ultimate. He is also a perfect counter to Manic Fluttering - normally I'd complain about "free" repeated removal, but people are going to be gunning for him to prevent that ultimate from going off. And even if it does go off, it's not going to be an insurmountable obstacle for your opponent. A solid 9/10. Kirino's face breaks into a smile. "I think that sounds like a wonderful idea - I wasn't planning on an interplanar war, in any case. It was lovely meeting you, Rettai, and you'll need to tell me when you'll want those ices."

Scribbl : Mardun Vanguard: This is a slick card, but has some incredibly nonintuitive interactions (it can block and kill a 1/6, by sacrificing it during end of combat, for example). There are cleaner ways to implement this, and it should be implemented one of those ways instead. 6/10. A well-dressed woman drops from the sky, three arrows of light piercing the construct before she alights gracefully atop its wreckage.Resplendent Heart-Piercer Planeswalker — Resplendent You may activate loyalty abilities of Resplendent Heart-Piercer you control during your combat on your turn any time you could cast an instant. (You still can't activate more than of her loyalty abilities each turn.): Target creature gets +1/+1 and gains indestructible until end of turn. : Resplendent Heart-Piercer deals 2 damage to up to one target tapped or blocking creature. "And if you'd take it from here, Safir?"Safir, Savvy Accounter Planeswalker — Safir At the beginning of your end step, you may exile target card from an opponent's graveyard. If you do, put a loyalty counter on Safir. : Each player loses 1 life. : Target creature gets -2/-2 until end of turn. Its controller loses 2 life. Starting Loyalty: 2 "It's a pleasure to meet you at last. I'm Safir, and you are? That's an impressive patch of terraforming you've managed here... care to explain it?" gurfafflekins : Cowardly Jester: I can't get excited about a Hurloon Minotaur with downside. I really can't get excited about an Un-card Hurloon Minotaur with a downside that isn't particularly funny. 5/10. "Ah, jester, you've underestimated me—a crucial mistake." In the blink of an eye, Rettai's gone, reappearing behind the orc with a few feet of chain in his hands. He looks younger, almost, as if the opportunity to deliver a good smackdown lifted away the weary years. "You thought I was a mere desk jockey, a weakling with no ability to retaliate. If you'd researched me as thoroughly as I've researched your employer, you'd know where I studied law. You'd know who my mother was. And you'd know exactly why I had to get very, very good at beating the tar out of people with this chain." He grins maliciously as the jester runs for the hills, slipping the chain back into his jacket.Rettai, Agent of Acquisitions Planeswalker — Rettai : Target player reveals cards from the top of their library until they reveal two land cards, then puts those cards into their graveyard. : Rettai, Agent of Acquisitions deals 3 damage to target creature or planeswalker and you gain 3 life. : Return target noncreature permanent from an opponent's graveyard to the battlefield. I admittedly am not fully sure yet how to gauge the power of simple contraptions that could theorectically go in any set (admittedly, I left interaction with sprockets out fearing it'd create unecessary complexity at common). I'll continue to tinker with the idea whenever I occasionally post here, and see where I end up, though.
"Most would understandably know little of its history. It appears to be a plane that has been constantly reshaped and visited by Planeswalkers, perhaps as a sort of ancestral training ground in itself. Direct records of its original caretaker are few, but from what I understand, he either created or sculpted this plane with a purpose similar to the one you use it for now."
Safir, Information Broker: Pretty fair - he may have spammable discard (my sole concern about him, really, getting him through on T2-3 in a control mirror could have interesting results) but he doesn't cause any loss of card advantage and if you can keep him going long enough all that library manipulation starts to build up - play him carelessly on the other hand and an aggro deck will have no problem shooting him on sight. I think he'd actually end up in U/B control where the user wants to leave mana up for a counterspell - making that less easy to do with the color heavy cost is probably for the best. 8/10

Lady Mapi — Alliance Treaty: Okay, I like this conceptually, but I have a few complaints. First, "name" has been replaced with "choose" on these sorts of cards; the correct wording is now "choose a player" and "the chosen player." Second, this causes serious problems in multiples—if I have two in a three-player game, I win on the spot—and so really can't be uncommon, and indeed needs verbiage to prevent that instant win. Good try, though; take 7/10. "This is a card, not a treaty. Where are the formal headings? Where are the numbered articles? Where are the carefully-worded loopholes? Rettai, Agent of Acquisitions: Not sure I like Mind Grind on repeat in monoblack, typically black doesn't get mill alone I find, but it does appear from time to time and it doesn't seem to respond to the card other than it being able to kill it with damage which is fine and all but nothing to get excited about. 6/10.

Starting Loyalty: 3 "The first chance I get here to draw up a proper contract, just like the good old days, and one of my students snags it. I really am getting old." Thanks for the wording help - I'll keep that in mind. And I didn't think about drafting multiples at all - I'd probably revise it to "as long as you are in a game with X+2 or more players, where X is the number of conspiracies named Alliance Treaty you control", which is an unfortunate mouthful. I'll have to work on this. Kathryn of the Wordcomb is, in practical terms, a hard counter to other Planeswalkers. I do really like the way her -1 is essentially a build-your-own-ultimate (you can use it to reassign all of the choices you made with her +1 and +0). She's really interesting with Alliance Treaty, too - you can make yourself one of the "allies" or reward other players by shielding them from your own "each opponent" effects. I give her a 8/10.

Care to compare notes?"Cartographer's Collection Artifact Cartographer's Collection enters the battlefield with a charge counter on it for each different name among lands you control. "Estera," Arina declares as she approaches. The word is unrecognizable. She writes in a notebook while constantly looking around, mumbling words to herself indecipherably. "I wish you luck in your journey."Focused Analysis Sorcery Each opponent reveals his or her hand. Scry 1, then draw a card. At the beginning of your upkeep, you may exile Focused Analysis from your graveyard. If you do, copy Focused Analysis and cast the copy without paying its mana cost.

cyberchronometerResplendent Heart-Piercer: This is an interesting new area for planeswalkers. I love modest-seeming cards, and the limit of two loyalty abilities in the context of the more flexible timing is a sweet combination. It seems well-costed and the effects are slick. 9/10Bahrum is taken aback by the appearance of this new figure, seemingly out of nowhere. "My apologies if I appeared threatening. My companion was not here to cause harm; he was simply accompanying my journey. I must say though, I do not know where this journey has taken me. Whereabouts are we?"Smelter's Bauble Artifact , Sacrifice Smelter's Bauble: Return target artifact card from your graveyard to your hand. , Sacrifice Smelter's Bauble: Create a 1/1 colorless Oreling artifact creature token.

7CI Internal Memo — Do Not Distribute TO: Rettai Ba'alzur, Interim Director FROM: Rettai Ba'alzur, Chief of Training and Recruitment SUBJECT: Status of "The Arena" Training Program The experimental training program known as "The Arena" has been a great success so far. In addition to providing valuable experience to the new recruits, it has given them an opportunity to establish contacts among notable planeswalkers... ... in conclusion, I advise the continued operation of this program, and its expansion to include all advanced-level recruits rather than just the current limited group.
7CI Internal Memo — Do Not Distribute TO: Rettai Ba'alzur, Chief of Training and Recruitment FROM: Rettai Ba'alzur, Interim Director SUBJECT: Re: Status of "The Arena" Training Program Report received and acknowledged. Continuation and expansion of the program approved.
Rettai Ba'alzur has purchased Multicolor I. herziquerzi — Cartographer's Collection: Name-domain is a good mechanic. This is a neat card for showing off that mechanic, although I'd like to see it with an ability-word if it's going to show up repeatedly. Balance seems fine, too. 9/10 "Ah, of course. Hey Valech! One of your fans is here!" Valech pops out of a building, a half-assembled survey thopter tucked under his arm. Soon, he's engrossed in a conversation with Captain Regam regarding methods of depicting multiple interconnected planes on a single map.Valech, Planar Cartographer Planeswalker — Valech : Reveal the top card of your library. If it's a land card, put it into your hand. Otherwise, put a loyalty counter on Valech, Planar Cartographer, then put it back on top or into your graveyard. : Whenever target creature deals combat damage to an opponent this turn, draw that many cards. : Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal four nonland cards, then put all cards revealed this way into your hand. WindyDelcarlo : Focused Analysis: This is a cool divination variant! A bit too cool of a divination variant, though; it's enough better than divination that it should probably either cost or have a cost to exile/copy. Still, I like the pseudoflashback mechanic here. 8/10. "A-Arina Nisita?" Rettai looks startled, for once, but recovers quickly. "Or would you rather I called you Arina Blue? Eseia, hello, welcome to the Arena. It's a pleasure to meet you at last. My contacts in the LIEU are quite terrified of you."Marcel, Sigiled Shieldbearer Planeswalker — When a spell or ability an opponent controls causes you to reveal CARDNAME from your hand, put it onto the battlefield. : You and creatures you control gain hexproof until your next turn. : Until end of turn, Marcel, Sigiled Shieldbearer becoems an */2 white Knight creature with first strike, hexproof, and power equal to the number of loyalty counters on him. (He doesn't lose loyalty while while he's not a planeswalker.)
