Proper Etiquette: I like the flavor of 'developing proper etiquette' and it creating mayhem in a multiplayer scenario, although I would increase the cmc 8.5/10. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gained Mastery of Artifacts! Its creatures are valuable for their abilities, not PT. 6/10 Isolated Aether Instant Exile target creature spell. At the beginning of its controller's next draw step, put that card on top of its owner's library.

Isolated Aether: This is a flicker style bounce type of effect. essentially it has a similer effect to "Return target permanent to its owner’s library", the cheapest card that can do this type of effect is Expel from Orazca and even then you have to fulfill a condition so I would increase the cost by 1. And these types of flicker type effects tend to send the card to somewhere at the next end step. 7/10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Perfect!" he says in a overly giddy voice, "Last one there is a rotten roc egg!" he says before running to the machine while laughing hysterically. Burst of Energy Instant Choose one or both — Draw a card. Burst of Energy deals 2 damage to any target. "Sometimes its hard to distinguish between the two", -Henry Brayden

You have to hit things from the stack, and it goes back in the next draw step so it blanks their second draw, not their first.) EPIC can call aid from Guilds of Ravnica. It's also strictly worse than Electrolyze? 7/10 Seiva, Swift Cryomancer Legendary Creature - Human Wizard Prowess Whenever a player casts a noncreature spell, you may cast noncreature spells this turn as though they had flash. 2/2 Seiva's quicken calls aid for Maximize Velocity, giving her +2/+2 and haste so she lives through the Burst of Energy.

Re: Aether Reliance: No, actually, aether is highly corrosive to life normally. It's the stuff in the blind eternities that kills non-planeswalkers that enter it and otherwise fries food unless you're careful. Volaria is weird and has a small amount of aether in its atmosphere, so its living things were designed by a god-walker in the past to be able to not die to small amounts of aether. Eternity Refusal: Perfectly fine counterspell, very useful against aggro decks 9/10 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Well..." he says while slightly taken aback by the outright refusal from Seiva, "That makes sense, I only just met you not long ago. So I guess distrust around my motives is to be expected, especially when your homeplane is on the other side of this portal." he says then pausing to look at the portal, "And, our homes are ever dear to our hearts, and so I will not intrude in your home. It is good we met Seiva, but sadly I have to leave now. I need to head back to Tolaria West so everyone knows I'm still alive and tell them of this marvelous revelation," he says while being covered with a vortex of blue winds then vanishing away.

“Hey, Neso,” Seiva calls. I look up to her, seeing some kind of long black firearm with a smooth lightly-glowing purple casing. I suppose that must be a ‘tenebrite rifle’, as I wrote into our research notes. I am yet unsure what it does, or how it fires, but it does look pretty cool. I have the documentation somewhere around here… I flip through the pages in my notes to find the poorly translated information about it. She has a belt around her waist with a small aetherglass box containing cylindrical purple canisters. “Check out what I’ve got from storage.”
“Exciting,” I reply as I carefully stand up. I’m not exhausting yet, but I’m not supposed to cast spells for a bit so I exhaust naturally. I look over the notes. “Is that an aethersteel casing?”
“Sure is,” Seiva replied. She seems far too happy for someone holding a weapon like that. “Tenebrite-aethersteel alloy, I’m told. Those guys sure put our trade to good use.”
“So what’ve you got that for?”
Seiva nods down into an open direction, where she had placed a thick brick of magical ice approximately half a kilometer away. “I figured that we might want to figure out what this thing does before we… abuse the material it’s made out of. Master Sara’s got Kaira on the way... eventually... to start doing aether reactions with the tenebrite.”
I look at the weapon in her hands, the notes in mine, and shrug. “I’m in. You know how to load it?”
“Looks kinda like the loading mechanism for any energy weapon, right?” I look over the papers and give her a nod. Click open the chamber, shove the canister in, click the chamber closed, and set the device to fire. Seems pretty standard.
“You only get one shot per canister, though. Looks like it’s a… What did Mister Fulmen call them? The weapons that are basically bows with power.”
Seiva looks at me, tilts her head, and then snaps her fingers. “Oh, kinetic weapons!”
I nod, “Yes, that. It fires the tenebrite projectile using some kind of condensed aether reaction. Do you know how to aim it?”
A shrug is returned to me. “I can get perfect precision on a spell cannon from two kilometers away. I’m pretty sure I can hit a massive block of ice from a quarter of that.” She at least has an understanding of how to do so, although I’m not sure where she learned to do it. As she pulls the trigger, a purple helix of energy releases itself from the barrel, extending for maybe an arm’s length. After a second, there is only a bright flash of light and thunderous crack that was probably heard on the other side of the plane. Ow. I wince from the sound. Almost a part of the same sound is the crash of the ice shattering.
How is Seiva even still standing? A blast that powerful should’ve sent her off her feet, dislocated and possibly broken something. What even…
“Spirits,” Seiva breathes out. “I hope that didn’t keep going.” Her eyes widen and she starts turning around, first to face everywhere else and then me.
“Did you do something there?” I ask. “You know, the fact that you’re still standing.” I'm uncertain why I’m even asking. Only using elemental energy weapons would make a person less knowledgeable of recoil. I doubt she even knew recoil existed. Seiva shakes her head frantically.
“I can’t hear anything!" she shouts loudly. Oh. Oh! She keeps turning around, clapping her hands occasionally, looking for any sound. I suppose the distance between me and her was just far enough. If it hurt me, I can't imagine what it did to her.
I take a deep breath and raise my hand. “Healer! We need a healer!” It’s only a few moments before the Solari cleric rushes his way over to us, his green and gold robe fluttering behind him. I look up at him. Varei is already on the way with an aether canister. “She can’t hear.” When Seiva turns towards the cleric, she stops and takes deep breaths. She’s smart enough to try to calm herself down. Her panic is doing nothing for anyone.
The cleric looks at her, nods, and starts generating rings of bright yellow light from the aether canister with small finger-circles. I look through all our documentation. I was certain I looked over for warnings…
Ah, yes. “Protection from noise in air”. Thank you very much, Leritha. Five words. I guess that’s what you get from weapon R&D from non-Entelans. Only a few words, without explaining how exactly these things work.
Seiva continues to occasionally clap, and the priest is reciting… something. I can’t actually understand the ancient language he’s using. At some point, the relief is obvious on Seiva’s face, including a small sigh and smile as she recognizes her hearing is recovering. The others in the outpost start to crowd around, making sure she’s okay.
“That was terrifying…” she says. It was probably intended to be quiet, but it ended up being a normal sentence. I nod, and show her the line that was our only warning. She sighs and rolls her eyes. “So today we learned not to fire one of those without a silence field around it.”
Haia stumbles over some words as she tries to say things, but Seiva doesn’t seem to notice her. “Haia, you’re going to need to speak up,” I point out, “Seiva just blew her hearing out.”
Haia sighs, takes a deep breath, and speaks possibly the loudest I’ve ever heard her. “I can cast a silence field if that needs to happen again.”
Seiva gives Haia a thumbs up, but she doesn’t say anything. I bet we're going to fire it again, maybe this time more safely.
Entela can now make Equipment, Fortifications, Vehicles, and Contraptions.

"That should do it," Twyla says as she leads the small party out of the maintenance room. Having dropped her slightly-worn finger-gadgets off for recalibration and checked out a new temporary pair and slips them onto her hands. They fit like fingerless gloves. She briefly explained what they are while she was performing the exchange—they're loaded with all sorts of programs that help set courses, keep bearings, and, sometimes most importantly, steady the user's hands during precise tasks or spellcasting. Now, they're on the elevator, on the way back down to the airlock floor. Twyla's quiet for most of the way down. The elevator slides to a stop, and they step off, heading down the hallway the way they came. In a few moments, they reach Control."Hey, Ajda," Twyla says. "We're done with the tour. They turn to the computer in front of them and tap at it, entering coordinates. They reunite by the door. "All right, in that case, I think we're all set. "Right, let's go." Wipe From Time Instant Return each nonland permanent to its owner's hand. (They'll find themselves on your Board, so feel free to respond with some sort of landing sequence.) Let's Go Home: Not sure why this is at instant speed, but all right, yeah. 9/10. // As the party lands on the Arena, they end up in the middle of a clearing. There are two tall but narrow homes, one made of stone and one of wood, that are exact replicas of each other except that the wooden one has been heavily damaged. A metal-framed and glass-walled cylinder filled with some kind of silvery-blue glass is wired up to another open cylinder on a raised platform. Another wire runs from that cylinder across the clearing into a building that is in the process of being built.
"Well, I appreciate you dropping us off at our outpost," I say, looking around. Estova's probably doing core engineer stuff, making sure we don't all die. Don't want to know what happens if that overflows here. I motion to the tunneler, "That cylinder there is our method of transportation. We evacuate the aether between two planes by channeling it into protective spells. All of us researching here are from Entela."
Wipe From Time seems more color-dense than it ought to be, since Devastation Tide can do 3UU with an upside in exchange for being a sorcery. It also probably shouldn't be white. 6/10 Interplanar Researcher Creature - Human Wizard When Interplanar Researcher enters the battlefield, look at target player's hand, then draw a card. 2/1

"Oh, fascinating. So it provides a sort of link between the Arena and wherever else you need to go?" Library Loomer Creature ― Crocodile Wizard Flash Whenever a card is revealed, put a +1/+1 counter on Library Loomer. 2/3

// As Seiva listens to Twyla's question, she taps out a message to Karina. You can go back to Hannah now. We'll talk about the world and payment for your services at a later time. "Not this one," I say, smiling as Karina as she nods at me and planeswalks away. "This tunnel goes directly to Entela. The one in Entela is a lot more complex, so we can synchronize that one to any destination."
Flash 2/3 with minor upside is fine. Could maybe even be a 3/3; revealing doesn't happen often. 8/10
Transfer Conduit Artifact - Conduit When Transfer Conduit enters the battlefield, you get . , Return target creature to its owner's hand.

One night, whichever person/people are managing the EPIC base notice three shades near the two cylindrical devices, poking around. Deconstruct Sorcery Destroy target artifact. Return target artifact card from your graveyard to your hand. (Nidus is essentially using them as scouts to figure out what those devices do)

Return target artifact card from your graveyard to your hand. (Nidus is essentially using them as scouts to figure out what those devices do) // Seiva is aware of the scouts, and silently observes them before attempting to do anything, disabling any spells they try to cast.
So, in an artifact set black can rebuy artifacts, though it can't usually do it otherwise. And it definitely can't ever destroy them, especially not on a two-for-one. That's pretty key to black's identity. 5/10? Silent Interference Instant If a player cast a creature spell this turn, you may cast Silent Interference without paying its mana cost. Counter target noncreature spell.

With a puff of smoke and an acrid smell, a strange woman hiding her face in a shawl steps into the plane behind the ruined building, and checks around the corner, and quickly withdraws as Seiva wanders on by, reading over a clipboard. Bitter stars, I shouldn't have walked that close. Lettie thinks, checking that she is downwind from Seiva, and counting to five before turning the corner again. On the grass, outside the outpost-in-progress, was a young boy, flipping the corners of some stacked papers, repeatedly. Seiva was already gone. Lettie rehearsed for a moment, then approximated a casual approach to the child, trying to pretend she was pulling her shawl off only because it was a warm day out. "Good afternoon. Are you with the Eternity Project? Miss Zeni said I could come here for books on Volarian bioaetherics, though she seems rather busy, and I'd like to know if there's anyone else I could speak to about that." She casts a nervous glance along the path Seiva was walking along.Thorned Nightshade Creature — Plant Shade : Thorned Nightshade gets +1/+1 until end of turn. 2/2

Hi!"// The boy looks around, down at an elf laying on the grass, then up at Lettie."Yeah, we're with EPIC. I'm Ani, this guy's Neso. I actually study bioaetherics! I've got a great book inside, which I can go get--"// Ani looks down at the elf again. Neso lifts his hand lightly to wave him off. "I've got a bit before I exhaust again, you're good to go.""Cool, just... stay here, I'll be right back with a book."// Assuming Lettie waits a couple minutes for Ani to return, he returns with a heavy-looking book in hand. Along the spine of it is written Bioaetherics, Year 1."Bioaetherics is great. We study all kinds of internal energies, uses for magic in healing, how things live with or without aether, elementals like Master Sara, power scripts like Miss Arina's..."
Thorned Nightshade seems like a standard Shade creature. Hybrids are always weird, though; this effect feels really weird in mono-green, since green normally limits activations to once per turn. (Also, not docking points for it, but a thing named after nightshade really ought to have deathtouch). 7/10 Aetherphile Creature - Elemental Defender Prevent all damage that would be dealt by Aetherphile. : Prevent all damage that would be dealt to Aetherphile by target creature this turn. 0/4

Lettie grins as she waits for her joke to land, and regardless of response, quickly flips through the first few pages. By winds of wastelands, this looks like the sort of nonsense an alchemist at home would come up with to explain medicine... except the whole plane is like that. Maybe they were on to something after all. Lettie takes a moment to internalize what she's read, and to wait for Ani to finish. "This is amazing. Back at home, we had alchemists who would try and guess at elements as being fundamental to our being. Course, none of their quackery ever actually worked, but I think maybe if I went... if I..." She trails off, and realizes what she's about to say. She fumes, and tries to recapture the rambling glee she had been channeling. "...um, I think I could apply some of their theories, see if they were really right, and if they were, that means I already have working recipes to treat any Volarian, or to adapt Volarian treatments to people like me! And then there's the potential in trying to cultivate strains of these plants to be less dependent on aether, or trying to adapt other plants to be more tolerable to the aetheric atmosphere..."Miasmatite Creature — Elemental Whenever Miasmitite attacks, defending player loses 2 life. 0/4 Aetherphile — Always a fan of additional mana restrictions in activated abilities. Also seems appropriately costed considering the gaseous form ability. 9/10
