A warm, open grass field contains a small wooden shack with open windows that consists of two floors. Within the first floor is a rudimentary kitchen: One metal box that uses magic to function as a refrigerator, another that uses fire to function as an oven, a desk, some lights, and an assortment of aethertechnical tools and books that mean nothing to people from most planes. Nearby in this field lays a heap of metallic whatsits and a cylinder of glass on top of some form of technological base. Arina is presently busy and is nowhere to be found, but a young girl that bears resemblance to her has taken her place, tinkering with the mess of metal and tools.
"Hey you!" a confident voice calls out. "You look like you're more familiar with this place then me, and considering you haven't tried to injure me yet, also probably friendly." "On that topic, why is everyone trying to kill me?"
Melody, Ally Trumpeter Legendary Creature - Human Ally When ~ or another Ally enters the battlefield under your control, target creature gets +X/+0 until end of turn, where X is the number of Allies you control. 2/2 "Shes a very inspiring musician. She just isn't very loud."

"The journals I found in the basement of my manor speak of an Arina. Are you the very same? It seems she was quite the mage."
Earthen Resolve Sorcery You and permanents you control gain hexproof from blue and from black until your next turn. Draw a card. "Like it or not, the world has its own agenda." - Pirreo, Khanzan shaman
A new face entered the Arena, one that seemed lost yet knew exactly where she was. She had the makings of a dangerous foe, or a perfect ally. "Hey lady," the child called to her, "what are you doing in a place like this?"
Lost Wanderings Enchantment Whenever a player casts a noncreature spell, that player puts the top X cards of their library into their graveyard, where X is that spell's converted mana cost. "Planeswalking's a lonely art at the beginning. Its no wonder so many of them are desperate to work together."
6000j "Esia... whoever you are. I cannot tell you why everyone is trying to kill you." Arina says only barely loud enough to be heard. She jots a few notes into her book, glancing up moments later. "I am familiar with the concept of this place, however. It is likely you are being challenged and not attacked." She motions her pen hand across the field, and a thin film coats the air.
I remember when I faced an allies deck. This seems approximately right given that it's basically a single-target Akoum Battlesinger that can get hooked up to an evasive creature. 9/10
Reduction Field Instant All creatures get -2/-2 until end of turn. If a creature would die this turn, return it to its owner's hand instead. "In moments when all and nothing are alike, perhaps death does not happen as expected." shiftyhomunculus: "I may or may not be the same. I cannot know without knowing more about what these journals say, correct?" Arina tries to recall if she left any journals here. "Arina Nisita, descendant of Master Shaido. Who might you be?"
I think the card I'm trying to think of is Display of Dominance? Although as I say that, the comparison to Heroic Intervention (Drop most colors + indes, draws a card) seems better. Seems strong. 10/10
Enveloping Wind Sorcery Tap all creatures. They don't untap during their controller's next untap step. Scry 2. cajun: "At this precise moment, I am studying the surroundings and community. Overall, I am essentially on vacation."Arina looks at the child. "I likely should ask you the same question."
Lost Wanderings has a few problems that'd make it basically unplayable. Namely, relying on the opponents being on noncreature spells, being symmetrical, and filling their graveyard for them (which I'm about to show why that's a problem). 6/10
Reminder Sorcery As an additional cost to cast ~, exile X instant and/or sorcery cards from your graveyard. Return X target instant or sorcery cards from your graveyard to your hand. fluffydeathbringer: Arina studies the crystals as they vibrate. She recalls studying similar crystals in Entela alongside Fulmen. Arina remains silent as she takes notes.
I love that Attunement Field produces the same crystals that build Volaria's economy (i.e. the ones that Talis produces). Otherwise it seems like a fine Quest-like. 9/10
Silent Observation Instant Whenever an opponent draws a card this turn, draw a card. At the beginning of your upkeep, if Silent Observation is in your graveyard, you may pay and exile it. If you do, scry 2.
WindyDelcarlo Blue regrowth always strikes me weirdly but it is in color and a handy counter to my mill. Nice way to restock late game without getting out of hand easily, 8/10
But maybe I was planning on the symmetry
"I'm looking for my place in this world. I've been lost for awhile, even changed my fab- my face to fit in, but nothing suits me. But this place... this place I'm starting to like. Maybe it'll be a vacation for me too."
Heavy Hearted Enchantment Whenever one or more cards are put into a player's graveyard from their hand or library, you lose 1 life and you draw a card. No one wants to live a tragedy, but for some things there's no better way to learn.
"There are many memories here if one looks hard enough. It was only eleven years ago when I was here for the first time."
cajun Heavy Hearted seems perfectly fine. It has a comparison but I can't find it right now but the cost seems fine otherwise. 9/10
Extended Study Instant Whenever a player draws one or more cards this turn, you may look at the top card of that player's library. If you do, you may put it on the top or bottom of that player's library.
HonchkrowDavid "Is that so?" Arina looks over the... being? Human, maybe? Arina begins a new note in her journal in an attempt to classify the person in front of her. "I cannot say the same. Who am I talking to?"
"Yes, there are a lot of memories here, not many of them happy." The girl looked down. "I fear that won't change soon. Maybe we'll see each other again miss Arina."
Extended Study: Hey, get your fateseal outta my draws :p I'm not sure this /quite/ works as it should, isn't it triggering on every draw and not once per set of draws? Either way this is a bit tricky to use but does some work when it hits. 7/10
The reference you're thinking of might be OPO's Spilling Secrets, which only triggers off opponents library
Honchkrow: That wording's for changing the effects of the same spell, what Wind's got there is right.
"Who are you?" The dragon's sudden eyes suddenly blaze with fire, as if recalling some distant memory, then smolder away as they settle back into that empty stare. "I suppose the stories of you are outdated, perhaps even inaccurate. My question remains."
Cognizant Shinobi Artifact Creature - Construct Ninja Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield, ~ gets +1/+1 until end of turn. , Sacrifice Cognizant Shinobi: Assemble a Contraption. (Put the top card of your Contraption deck face up onto one of your sprockets.) 1/1 "Sacred dragon's blade? Fool. Any tool will suit for a kill."
ZephyrPhantom "I am Arina Nisita, direct descendant of Shaidosta's First Master. Who is speaking?"
Cognizan Shinobi seems fine, if potentially underpowered compared to Master of Etherium. 7/10
Master's Stroke Instant Return target nonland permanent to its owner's hand. Whenever a player casts a spell or activates an ability, if this spell is on the stack, you may choose new targets for this spell. There was a lesson learned from every interaction between Arina and the people of Shaidosta.

"Dracodeus, a retired old tinkerer." The dragon doesn't even bother acknowledging that there is obviously more to that statement. "I seek an individual that is said to hide within time itself, and hear you have experience with such things. Am I correct?"
Hm, but wouldn't actually be approrpiate seeing as Master of Etherium is a rare?
Master's Stroke: If I had to pick a card that represented the quintessential blue player in a nutshell this would be one of them. (Granted, its more complex mechanic would make it a bit harder to grasp than Counterspell, but that's beyond the point entirely.) I actually really like this design as it's a simple yet effective rare that allows for interaction instead of just going for "Can't be countered." Put this in a set. 10/10

"Ms. Nisita, I'm Britt, and I'm here to clarify the Seventh Circle's offer. We have it on good information that you've opposed the minions of Phyrexia in the past, and most notably defeated a planeswalker in their service. We're worried about Phyrexia too, and we'd like to know anything you were able to learn about their capabilities and methods during that conflict; in exchange, I'll help collect and analyze whatever data about the Arena you need. Sound good?"
Britt, Sensor Technician Planeswalker — Britt : Look at the top two cards of your library. You may exile one of those cards. Then put the rest on top of your library in any order. : Look at target player's hand. Draw a card. : Tap target artifact or creature. It doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. : Create a 8/8 colorless Construct artifact creature token with hexproof and "Whenever this creature attacks or blocks, draw three cards."
"Arina" says a young woman surrounded by floating stalactictes glowing in the same pink hue as her eyes "There are whispers in the Multiverse that speak of someone with that name. Are you that Arina? I guess there's only one way to find out..." As she finishes speaking the stalactites crash in a perfect circle around Arina and explode into sharpened stone chunks that fly at her.
Brutal Trial Sorcery ~ deals 3 damage to target creature. At the beginning of the next end step, put two +1/+1 counters on that creature. "Battle scars are for the weak, a true warrior emerges from combat unscathed and stronger." -Aylin, the Geomancer
cyberchronometer I am so sorry, I blanked at first on how to respond to this and then completely forgot. Britt is definitely more balanced than Jace, although that's not an especially high bar to meet. I'm partially concerned that the 0 is still the same net amount of cards drawn, but Jace digs two deeper? 8/10
"I have recorded journals from my fight against the Interan Phyrexians. I have heard stories that they were... in the best definition, incompetent compared to their progenitors, but I can send a copy to you as you wish."
Free Information Enchantment Whenever a player draws a card, scry 1. : Each player draws a card.
korakhos And I'm sorry here because I just completely missed this. Brutal Trial seems like most often a removal spell that feels real bad to get blown out with, since most often the things you want to give two counters to don't have the 3 toughness to survive this. 6/10
In the space between seconds, Arina has drawn up frost shards to perfectly mirror the shards of stone. "I imagine that you were looking for this exact response. You are not the first person to attempt that, and you certainly will not be the last."
Cryonic Dispersal Instant Counter target spell. Target permanent that spell's controller controls doesn't untap during their next untap step.
Cryonic Dispersal: I like the card, I really do, it looks perfectly balanced and it's a cool twist on the typical "Cancel with upside", but it just doesn't strike me as a response to this challenge, you could basically respond to any card that isn't a land or doesn't have a "can't be countered" clause, and I wish you had done something more specific to my card. Still, 7/10.
"The secret to life is to never expect anything from anybody, I was just looking for any sort of response, but honestly, I wouldn't have minded any sort of outcome" replies Aylin "Also, don't insult me by telling me more than one person attempted that same trick, if you want me to bring my A-game just ask, but be warned that it's not going to be pretty."
cyberchronometer "I am simply looking to understand the others here and where they come from."
korakhos To be fair, the only way I have of interacting with this is interacting with it on the stack, and the options were either misdirection, hexproofing, or countermagic, all of which are catch-all answers to anything with targets... XD "I am fairly well-known for this trick, so it makes sense to me that you would intend for me to attempt the same. However, I did not come here expecting opponents to go easily. By all means, throw everything you have at me."
oddnanref Unfortunately, this card is neither blue nor red. These two colors do not hand attack at all. Compare to Cabal Therapy, for example. Speaking of, Cabal Therapy indicates that this card is far too expensive, since the best case scenario is you're both card neutral and you've done basically nothing. 1/10
"Esia!" Arina has an uncharacteristic smile as she speaks to the strange newcomer. "I am simply writing notes for Fulmen to send over to Entela. I am Arina Nisita. Who are you?"
Ressign Sorcery If you would reveal Reassign from your hand, you may instead cast it without paying its mana cost. Look at target player's hand. Draw a card.
WindyDelcarlo Well, it is unfortunate. I am still learning. It was a take on the choose to take damage red cards and Vendillion Clique. Over costed because both cards are rare in those colors.
9/10 Your response is good. If it gets discarded, does it count as being revealed?
Ps: How do I change the colors if I am writing from a cellphone?
My name? Prob*mumble* you can call me Gwelion? Just getting my bearings. Do you happen to know if there is an introduction book somewhere, basic course will do too. I am, no *mumble*
Oh sorry, where are my manners. Just point me to the nearest school.
Edit: I see. I hope you don't mind I just modify my post. Though you might not get notified for it. This makes counter spells hard to use for attacks, on flavor too I would guess. Thanks for the tip. I took a while to hone some design skills.
Let me try this again. Next post for the notification.
oddnanref "I do not know where a school is in this area. You will have to look around for that information."
First, rules clarification: On Due Time would be considered an "attack", which doesn't quite work as a counterspell. Like, the first pair of attack/response are mechanically separate from a second pair of attack/response.
Second, the mobile editor uses the following command: TEXT Where the #AABBCC is a hex code. I think it also works with simple color words, but I'm not sure.
Guess, the book has not heard about any schools either. It can hear right? .... maybe not... I can't expect things to work the same. Though I am curios about what is in that book. Does have a networking system using Grosomors? Those tend to clog up the throughput.... Tilts headYou have no idea what I am saying, are you? How about this, that book looks to be 200 pages thick. I just need 1,2.. carry... add then correct for gamma... Twenty-seven seconds with it, a similar book and I can improve your quasi connectivity improving the information transmission. Basically you can know improve the transit of information from whatever speed to using a pseudo dibreak. Not a bad deal. In return, how a bout a little something on the people here? There is certainly a ship that caught my eye.
Confusing Bargain Instant Destroy target artifact and create a copy of it. Exile the copy at the end of turn. Its okay if it breaks. Its not really mine.
"Arina" says the young, purple haired woman approaching "I know we started off on the wrong foot, or maybe not, maybe you enjoy strangers trying to go for your throat. But I have received information that you are an assassin for hire, and that's exactly the type of person I need right now... My name is Aylin, and I'll be more than glad to pay you a generous amount to help me end someone..."
Price of Blood Sorcery Target player draws 3 cards and loses 3 life. Create a colorless Treasure artifact token with ", Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color." Everything has a price, even life.
"I do not do that kind of work anymore. I have not done so for years..." Arina sighs, looking around at assorted tools, books, and pens that cover both the inside and outside of her residence. "However, you are here now looking for me, so I will listen regardless. What are you hoping to hire me for?"
I like drawing cards and making treasures. The effect an offer like this has on the soul is really great storytelling. Can't really find flaws with it? Rating 10/10
Reluctant Consideration ::U:: Sorcery [Rare] Scry 3. At the beginning of each end step, if you drew three or more cards this turn, you may pay ::U::. If you do, return Reluctant Consideration from your graveyard to your hand.
