Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our two-hundred and eighty-third challenge! The winner of the "Goblins in Standard?!" poll was viriss with...And the challenge issued by our winner was... Design a two color dragon! To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

CotWCs making me wonder about weird Magic trivia. Is there a dragon type in every set? Likely answer is: no. But, should there be!? In any case... dropping this here for now. Faerie Dragon
Creature - Dragon Faerie Mischievousness Sorcery - Adventure Each player chooses one: • Draw a card • Reveal the top card of your library, if it's a land put it on the battlefield tapped. /// When ~ enters the battlefield, choose one: • Flying creatures get +1/+1 until end of turn. • Other flying creatures get -1/-0 until end of turn. 1/1

As far as I know, nowadays WotC tries to do one card for each of the iconic tribes (Angel, Sphinx, Demon, Dragon & Hydra) per set if possible - but even before that was the case, they definitely tried doing this for Dragons in particular. I think it was when Balefire Dragon was revealed and some questioned the need for a Dragon to show up on Innistrad, that MaRo talked about some players loving the Dragon cards in particular and collecting them from every set.

Yeah, sometimes they fail
Anyway, here's my own entry - decided to go with a hybrid colored design for this challenge:
(Might add some flavor text later on.)

I wanted to test out that new Adamant mechanic from Eldraine. I also run two tribal commander decks--Jund Dragons and Mardu Vampires. So I thought, rock on, I'll make a card that's both a dragon and a vampire!

Dragons clearly always prefered Goblins to Food.

ALL HAIL SQUEEKNOR, OUR NEW LORD AND SAVIOR! Get your bitchass outta here, Vectron!
So, I designed this card for Hipsters of the Coast's Great Designer Training, back during the runup to GDS3. The prompt was something along the lines of the Sarkhan/Ugin business on Tarkir never happened (or happened vastly differently), so design a card that's a melding of two of the wedges.
Silarka, the Secret-Breaker Legendary Creature--Dragon Flying Whenever Silarka, the Secret-Breaker or another creature you control is turned face up, you may draw a card. If you do, you may have that creature deal damage equal to the number of cards in your hand to another target creature. : Turn target face up creature you control face down. Morph (You may cast this card face down as a 2/2 creature for . Turn it face up any time for its morph cost.) 5/5
"Punch" or "bite" effects are primary in , and key off of that creature's power. However, a punch based off of the number of cards in your hand feels like it would need /be a thing that would do.

I'll admit, now that my card is posted, I'm curious about feedback. Not just on the mechanics, but also my photoshop work (The non-title text font is Matrix, but it still doesn't look quite right to me)

@haiku -- That's... that's just straight up Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind. But with an older looking frame. I feel like that's not allowed, for some weird reason. Psychonoid Dragon Creature - Dragon Flying Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, that player exiles a card from their hand. 3/3

My card is about a dragon but also about a survivor. Village Decimator Creature — Dragon Flying, haste When Village Decimator enters the battlefield, each opponent chooses a creature they control, then sacrifices the rest. Creatures your opponents control have protection from Dragons. As long as a Dragon you control is attacking, they also have reach. 5/5

You can throw him under the bus to permanently destroy a particularly difficult to kill creature (ie Bloodghast) or boost him into bomb city. I figure 9 mana is about right for such an obscene monster.

Works well with "must attack" mechanics and fight mechanics.

Here's a rather whimsical one. It's a little pushed, but probably fine.

Creature - Dragon Flying, menace When Possessive Dragon enters the battlefield, create a Treasure Hoard token.
Possessive Dragon can't attack as long as you control a Treasure Hoard. 5/5
----- Treasure Hoard
Token Artifact Shroud Sacrifice Treasure Hoard: Add two mana of any color. Only any opponent may play this ability as a sorcery.

Sacrifice Treasure Hoard:
I think you cannot sacrifice anything that you don't own, but as long as everyone 100% understands how to play the card i guess it's fine.
