Ridicule: I was gonna say that as an instant it might be undercosted but then I actually read the type XD. 9/10. (regarding Grim Manifestation, yeah, I pretty much overestimated the graveyard removal part when I gave it a double color saturation XD) "The real fight? The real fight! I bet that's what you told yourself when you dropped a mountain on poor Oblay, wasn't it? Or when you nearly killed Reyhsia for telling you you weren't an orphan? Maybe when your personal beef with a demon killed Sunspear and got children caught in the crossfire? Or maybe just now, when you cratered that bakery? Was all that in service to 'the real fight?'"Aylin's face contorts into its usual grimace."Poor Oblay? Poor Oblay?!?! You're right, I shouldn't have thrown a mountain on her, I should have let her use her magic to take over the entire Arena and destroy us all. Aiden, on the other hand, died by his own choices, I never told him to come help me, he made a choice and payed the price! And the demon had a beef with me, not the other way around, but hey, if you were so mad at the consequences of me facing the demon, why was he hiding in the statues you built?! The 7CI guy and me fought him together, that was the real fight, we actually did something, rather than just hide behind a bakery and attack people from a distance while playing dumb. You consider yourself someone who fights the real fight? Great, then, prove it right now!"A circle of stones surrounds both women and shoots upward, trapping them both in a cone made out of stone. cajun Backlash Trap: Weird way of saying "counter target spell and deal 3 damage to that spell's controller". I can see niche circumstances where it's particularly useful but is usually just that. Trap reduction feels pretty easy to pull off, too. Seems fine though. 8.5/10 --> 9/10. ...The monument remains where it is. Unscathed - tall, proud, and perfect. When Sevid would look to her map next, the monument would be as is. It would appear in front of her like it does on paper. However, a new spot on the map would be devastated - somewhere off plane. In fact, everywhere she looked at the Atlas, whatever area was protected with her locking spells, would be in shambles. Fires, floods, lightning, earthquakes - every possible natural disaster, to even natural wear and decay. And then... a whiff of smoke across her nostrils. Coming from the direction of the bakery.Oh dear. It appears you left the muffins on too long. And now the place is on fire. Real fire. Real patrons. Screaming. Horrified. The building may be unharmed because of the lock - but certainly not fireproof, especially while a certain someone wasn't paying attention to her map.Burn it Down Instant Destroy target artifact or nonbasic land. ~ deals 1 damage to that permanent's controller. After all, you can lock all the land you want, elf.
But you can't lock the people into safety, can you?

After all, you can lock all the land you want, elf.
But you can't lock the people into safety, can you? Sevid's eyes remain glued to a cartographer's step as she makes her way to the memorial, looking for any unusual people between her and the monument. She doesn't find anyone, and stranger still, the monument is unharmed. She looks around for someone, anyone, but she's alone. She looks back to the Atlas. Sunspear Memorial is back to normal. Before she can question it, she sees another ruined area, and another, and another. All of them surrounded by the faint glow of the lock spell. Including... They were probably all fine as well, she assured herself. Someone was playing tricks on my eyes. The faintest whiff of smoke passes by her nose. The bakery. She ran for it, her hand guiding a river on a more noble path for the minute. Flames ate away at the building. The Step confirmed the building was clear. The maps should survive, but after Aylin and this, it might finally be time to remodel. With a flick of her wrist, the riverbed catapulted its contents at the burning building. Redirected RiverLand , Pay 1 life: Add . , , Sacrifice Redirected River: Counter target spell that targets a permanent you control. Burn it Down - think this quite more expensive than it needs to be, is easily 1R without the LD for example. think a lower cost or bigger burn'd serve this well. 7/10(re: trap- ye the the weird wording was just to double down on the backfire flavor)
Sevid runs up to a pale, blonde woman who seemed to have been calmly watching the blaze. "Hey! Did you see what happened? Or who did this?"The other woman stares off into space for a few seconds, before simply answering, "No."Sevid's eyes narrow. "Then what are you doing here?""I just wanted one of missus Manji's muffins, but seems you've got your hands a bit full for now. It was nice meeting you though.""What did you call me?" she growls back. "Ah, did it not work out for you two? Shame. Well, I've got places to be, bridges to burn, you know the drill." Before Sevid can object, a freezing wind blows past her, and the woman disappears with it.

Maybe I'm just too used to broken EDH interactions. Still an excellent card - 9/10."Yes," I reply as the woman joins me. cajun The river puts out the fire. People seem unharmed - a couple are burned, a couple passed out from the smoke. They'll recover.A voice distorts the wind around Sevid after the stranger vanishes, sounding suspiciously like her: Reinforce what you will, missus Manji. Turn the land to steel. Make it indestructible.
But creatures tend to be much less reinforcable.Redirected River: Hmmmmmmm. A counterspell on a land. Even if it's just Turn Aside, land abuse is so easily done, but less so in blue... 8/10.

here untap this :3 Keybearer Servitor - hm, seems a bit abuseable and i tried but is still nifty in the normal case. 9/10 This one's interesting - essentially it's saying historic creatures, but doesn't bear the baggage of Sagas (which probably shouldn't have been included in the umbrella of historic, since it would make it so much easier to use the term in future sets without having to bring Sagas along). With this, my Keybearer Servitor, Skullclamp, and a mana rock, you can draw as much of your deck as you want. Aside from that, I can see this one being pretty difficult to break. The cost looks good as well - I like it overall. 9/10
"I was informed that New Phyrexia is ruled by five Praetors, each one aligned with a different color of mana. Each rules a different portion of the plane, and as I have come to understand it, there may be some conflict between them due to uncertainty over who holds true authority over the plane. The Praetor who wields black mana is, apparently, quite ambitious and has been making moves to try and solidify a power base there." I withdraw the sketch that Rolt provided me, and show it to Rehysia. "The only one of the five that they were able to name is the Praetor who wields red mana, known as Urabrask - this is a sketch of him, though I cannot speak with certainty to its accuracy I am assured that it at least was accurate in the past, and should be relatively close to his current appearance. Urabrask's domain includes the furnaces of New Phyrexia... I would assume this would give him significant leverage over the other Praetors."

cajun — Tactical NOPE: Certainly a versatile answer, and fairly costed; but I'm a bit leery of the onboard counterspell. 9/10"Right—but the mana runs out before the aether does; the transformer keeps it supplied with mana long enough for the pocket-plane to run out of aether and dissolve back into the Eternities, or wherever it comes from." Aimi winces at the Skaloran saying. "Believe me, I'd rather be working on anything but more bigger guns. But sometimes, nothing else you could to to help people matters more than protecting them, and the HELLNOPE gives us a way to strike at the nightmares without hurting any of the people... well, except for Volarians and other aetherborn, and we're already helping them evacuate. The day before Karina leaves for Entela...
Shortly after Hannah leaves to work on the tunnel some more, Pidge bounces up to me.
"Hey kid, gotcha stuff here," she whispers, pulling out a box. I peek inside to the fabrics and needles and grin.
"Thanks, Pidge," I whisper back. "I was going to do this today but-" "Nah, no worries kid, I getcha," she smiles back.
"Also have a message from an R?" she says as I pack away the box. "Normally that's short for Reyhs but this wasn't Reyhs, but said you'd know her. Real tall lady with too many arms ringa bell?"
"Rudara? Huh. What does she say?"
"Your aid was appreciated. You have my eye." She frowns a bit. "You're not getting into more trouble now are ya?"
"I don't think so? But I'll keep a better eye out, I guess." I pay Pidge for her package and message, and she portals away with a slight salute.
Some time after Karina returns from Entela...
"Hey, kid with the transceiver, over here!" I hear a shout. I turn to a stranger in a pretty blue- with a transceiver in her hand running towards me. "So glad I found you, thought I'd have to head back home. My transceiver got pretty banged up in a fight earlier. I think I've got it mostly repaired, but think the date's still wrong, can you double check me?"
She holds her transceiver with the name Vaisa Iglae, Researcher across the top. I check her time with my own. "Looks like you've got the days right, but the year is broken. It's 381 VY, not 367... er RVY, because we're not on Volaria, right?"
"Right," she smiles. "Well, thanks for the help, I've got..." she runs her hands over her dre-pockets and somehow pulls out a few ryla. "For your troubles," she smiles as she drops them in my hand. Karina has gained access to her Timewalk spell Karina has spent 100 Valor and unlocked Phasing (which the inspector will be cribbing soon)

(I could see this making artifact spells cast with the mana uncounterable, in a similar vein to Boseiju, Who Shelters All. Looking to the outside, it seems like the tapping is caused by tiny stones who are seemingly moving on her own, tapping lightly enough to not leave even a single crack.
Signal A Presence Sorcery You may reveal a creature or planeswalker card from your hand. If you do, each opponent puts the top X cards of their library into their graveyard, where X is its converted mana cost. Draw a card.
Sevid waves her hand and papers across the room ruffle around. The Cartographer's Step pulls itself to her as she checks who is outside. There's only one set of footsteps, and their name beside. "Lei Koen? Never heard of you," she mutters. She heads for the front door, the Atlas's case magically unlocking as she passes it. It floats by, out of sight but not out of reach, as she opens the door into the night. "Hey, we're closed!" she yells "Come back in the morning! And use the door next time."Check the Perimeter Sorcery Each opponent reveals his or her hand. Draw X cards, where X is the greatest converted mana cost of cards revealed this way. "Nice ambush, did your mom make it for you?" Signal a Prescence - prob fine at 1U as well. 8/10
A gigantic being stands in front of Sevid's bakery. When Lei hears Sevid come out, the tapping immediately ceases and the stones fall to the ground. Lei kneels carefully and speaks. Her tone is soft, but the volume is loud. "My name is Lei Koen of the High Builders. I am not here for the consumption of food. I have been attempting to show her how to control her telekinesis at all times, but despite that, she unconsciously used it in her sleep again, yes? I heard her mind unlocking and locking again mechanisms and doors, and so sensed that a few maps she has drawn have found their way into this building telekinetically overnight. I apologise, yes. This all happened because I underestimated how difficult it would be to teach her. I doubt she will want the maps back, as she dreamt of them being delivered to someone who could appreciate them. All is explained now, yes?"
Enchantment When Telekinesis Lessons enters the battlefield, put up to one target creature or artifact into its owner's library second from the top.
, , Tap an untapped Wizard you control: Tap target creature.
Check the Perimeter: Kinda high risk high reward but overall feels mostly fine? You can use bounce spells and the like to ensure it doesn't whiff, so... 8/10

I nod, and reply, "I see... I know that the furnaces of Phyrexia were not quite at its core - the Ineffable dwells within Phyrexia's core, which we consider its ninth sphere. The furnaces would be the seventh sphere..." I contemplate for a moment before answering, "Still, perhaps it is simply a matter of utilizing what is available within the plane. In either case, I can see how it would be difficult to reach Urabrask's domain in order to meet with him for any reason."Phyrexian Trailblazer Artifact Creature - Minion When Phyrexian Trailblazer dies, you may pay . If you do, search your library for a basic land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library. ( can be paid with any one mana or two life.)1/1 "Yeah, no kidding. Seventh Circle's been doing what they can for years, but it's not a nut we're expecting to crack any time soon."
"Can you remember anything from Phyrexia that might have led to this? Talks of attacks against other targets? Other Phyrexias?"Tirvanan Trailmender Creature - Human Cleric Lifelink Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, you gain 2 life. 1/2 Phyrexian Trailblazer - 9/10"You're most welcome, Karina." The sphere leans slightly further forward. "And no, I suspect this is a very poor time to be alarmed. Fear is a primitive emotion that leads to rash decisions. And I don't know about you, but the last time I acted rashly a whole lot of people who were counting on me died."The drone taps one leg against the ground. "As to the spirit's reasoning, it claims you have thwarted its efforts using stolen magic that lets you manipulate spacetime. You wouldn't happen to know why it thinks that, do you?" You don't have to be afraid anymore. "Okay," I say taking a big breath. "I've hurt people because I was scared too. I should try to not do that again."
"As to the spirit's reasoning, it claims you have thwarted its efforts using stolen magic that lets you manipulate spacetime. You wouldn't happen to know why it thinks that, do you?" It knows? How?!
"Unless it's just very confused about planeswalking, I don't have any idea why it would think that, no." I say sadly. "I don't think I've even met it before, so I don't know what I might have thwar-ted or even how."(Don't really know how to handle this as a gift, so have an 'attack' for Karina dodging the whole truth) Exact Words Instant As an additional cost to cast this spell, you may pay . ( can be paid with either or by removing a loyalty counter from a blue planeswalker you control.)Exile target creature, then return it to the battlefield under its owner's control. If this spell was sparked, return it to the battlefield under your control instead. Impulse Modulator - generally this gets worded as Homeward Path nowadays. 8/10

cajun(Re: Impulse Modulator - It works differently than Homeward Path so it can also stop you from losing control of permanents you don't own) Exact Words: This is an interesting card in its own right without needing loyalty mana (which I honestly don't like much; even in a WAR-esque set the applications are so limited). I'm not sure how the name fits the rules text. At least the fact that sparking costs extra in this case means the swing from useless to broken is hopefully less severe than normal. 8/10."Well, it seemed to imply that the magic was stored in your spear." The drone swivels its spherical body a few degrees left and right without moving its legs, as if looking around, then leans in still closer. "You do still have the spear, right?"Acquisition Module Artifact , : Tap target permanent. If you own that permanent, gain control of it instead.

Yea i really just wanted to use the name >.> WAR I suspect has enough walkers, but ye I see loyalty mana as more of a supplemental mechanic, something to go in like a Commander set or similar where you can fire that more regularly. (and as should have mentioned in that post which might've helped things, using two of my commander's loyalty there) "Of course," Karina said, bringing down the spear, not sure which of the eyes to show it to. "It does have some kind of magic in it, but it's sun magic, not time magic. And I don't even know how to use it."
"It did do a big light blast when whatever it was tried to attack me, and that seemed to scare it away."
"Wait... are you sure it's a spirit? It's mean, has illusions, is scared of the sun, it sounds like," she hesitated, "like a vampire? We had those on Festenya, and I always tried to stay away from them because..."// Karina's voice trails off The Sun May Set Enchantment Each nonland permanent you control has "When this permanent becomes untapped for the first time each turn, untap it." But we never will.Acquisition Module - kind of sidegrade to icy manipulator? dunno that it needs rare but k 8/10

...It seemed Rudarah was on another one of her strolls through the countryside, alone this time. She didn't seem to be in any particular rush, or following any specific path. If she expected something to happen, she was in no way letting that fact escape her thoughts. {Gift? Card - Destined Crossing} Whatever she was doing, something was bound to happen sooner or later, right? Feel free to respond with anyone whose available.

I do think it could probably have more toughness, though, for the cost - or cost less with the current statblock. 9/10I shake my head, and reply, "The only battles I ever was aware of were in regards to the invasion of Dominaria... and I had heard nothing of other incarnations of Phyrexia." I pause, considering for a moment, before continuing, "The closest I can think of would be Rath - an outpost plane created by the Ineffable to serve as a staging ground and incursion point for the core assault on Dominaria. But I know little about it, as I was not dispatched there."
World Generator Artifact At the beginning of your upkeep, you may search your library for a basic land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped. If you do, shuffle your library. At the beginning of each opponent's upkeep, that player may search their library for a land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped. If they do, you may search your library for a land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped. Then each player who searched their library this way shuffles their library.

"If it was an accident she's free to have them back. They are being appreciated if she doesn't, though, yes."Sevid Fese, Realmstitcher Legendary Creature - Elf Wizard At the beginning of your end step, if an opponent controls more lands than you, create a token that's a copy of target land. Sevid Fese, Realmstitcher gets +1/+1 for each Realm your opponents control. 2/3here have a Wizard Telekinesis Lessons - Enchantment that taps is funky, but think this is supposed to be funky? 8/10...It seemed Rudarah was on another one of her strolls through the countryside, alone this time. cajunThe Sun May Set: I'm going to assume you meant 'tapped' instead of 'untapped' the first time around. I like the name and the callback (even if it's before my time), as well as the combo potential. It does feel more green or blue than white, which as far as I can tell hasn't been able to untap noncreature permanents since Burst of Energy back in Urza's Legacy, but it's close and the flavor does help here (and colorless untaps artifacts all the time anyway). 10/10."Scared of the sun? I didn't get that impression." Thin antennae sprout from the drone's body, waving gently in the direction of the spear. "And I've encountered vampires on at least three separate planes. All were physical beings and none of them had illusion magic, as far as I could tell. I don't know what kind of spirit this is, true, but there are many."
The antennae retract into the drone. "Now, are you sure you don't know why it thinks you can time travel? Because that could be key to understanding what to do about this problem."Time-Rending Spear Artifact - Equipment Equipped creature has double strike. Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage to a player for the first time each turn, untap all creatures you control. After this phase, there is an additional combat phase. Equip

cajun — Atlas of Nightmares: Flavorful reversal of the Atlas of Worlds, and a sweet synergy with Lochana (or other Crucibles), especially with the potential for an instant kill with her ultimate and emblem. 10/10"If they're separate planes... can you get a chart of the local bit of the Blind Eternities? They'd have to be practically on top of us to do this kind of overlay." "I... have never tried that before." Nevertheless, she conjures up a map of the Blind Eternities, the Arena surrounded by a mob of tiny smudges... and a trail of others, gradually converging towards it. "They're not appearing. They're arriving! And if we follow that back..." Lochana gestures for Sevid to shrink the scale of the map, eventually finding half a dozen other similarly smudge-covered planes feeding the invasion. "The main source seems to be this one, 'Tikvitai,' but I don't recognize any of these—Ildathach!? We've got an agent from there!" She smooths her own parchment on one of the tables, lines haphazardly weaving across it to mark the nightmare-sieged planes. "Thank you, Det, you've been a huge help. We'll send people to check those planes out and see what it would take to stop these things permanently, everywhere. And... is there anything we can do for you? The way I see it, we owe you one for this fine mapwork."7CI Exploration Legendary Planeswalker — Division Whenever a land enters the battlefield, if it doesn't share a name with another land, put a loyalty counter on each Division you control. : Reveal the top card of your library and put that card into your hand. You gain life equal to its converted mana cost. : Search your library for a permanent card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library. Add . : You get an emblem with "At the beginning of each upkeep, you may put a permanent card from your hand onto the battlefield. It gains haste until end of turn."
