"Oh! You didn't have to do that..." I feel my cheeks burn a little... I have no idea if that's showing. "It does look good though, thank you!"
Friendly Presence  Enchantment  When Friendly Presence enters the battlefield, you gain 5 life. At the beginning of your upkeep, you gain 1 life.
Friendly Gift - Neat donate, but Donate makes me wonder if this is too cheap... which is weird to say about a card that gives other people free stuff. Multiplayer opens even more break points, but generally that can handle the power a little better so iunno. 8/10 |

The dark-skinned boy and his mechanical angel-like accompaniment nod, then walk with Reyhsia to the cherry tree, where Rian is standing. His eyes are glowing a deep red, and he's now wearing a different ornate black suit. Arrogant Duelist Creature - Human Warrior Arrogant Duelist can block any number of creatures. 3/1

 As an additional cost to cast this spell, discard a land card or discard two cards. Draw three cards.
oof this was a doozy. Give you something to do with that land you pick up Planar Guidance - digging for the land is more in green's wheelhouse, but flavor helps sell it in blue. 9/10 |

Hannah and I look up into the strange starry tear as we try to go to sleep. My head is still whirling far too much for that. One thing in particular is stuck in my mind, and eventually I decide to tell her.
"I'm sorry I made you feel like you did something wrong. I wish I would have known, but, I think I get why you didn't tell me. You told me a whole bunch of times, didn't you? I just never let myself believe you.""I tried. I've never been good at... saying things. Always trying to do things and hope that works."
"Heh, well it took a minute, but looks like it did finally work."
I woke up early the next morning, the sun barely peeking out over the horizon. Part of me just wants to stay here. The rest knows I have work to do. I gently pulled myself from Hannah's arms and get ready for the day.
I put on the transceiver, Hyle's pearls even though Teagan will probably make me take them off, remember to move the transceiver to the other arm, then finally pick up the Sunspear. While I do, I think about what happened yesterday. It had been unexpected, yes. But bad? I look down to the still sleeping Hannah and smile. I had let myself be happy, and for once, nothing terrible happened. Maybe, just maybe, things could be better again.
I turn to face the sunrise. There's a bright new day ahead. Let's make it another good one. Karina has spent 200 Valor and unlocked Sigil of the Commander!
Karina has lost access to black mana and gained 50 Valor!
Karina has taken control of the Board!
Reyhsia and her crew will still be present, but they won't be attacking anymore, and won't have black mana Amusingly, this was the planned setup for Karina on Reyhsia's board back before she was going to be a planeswalker :^)
Rian glances at the group, holding up his bleeding hand. "Oh. Hello." His eyes then drift to Allen. "So, you probably hate me now, don't you." He coughs forcefully, releasing a flurry of bloodied pink petals.Allen approaches him. "I-I'm just glad that you're here. What happened back there?""I don't want to talk about it," Rian sighed. Reyhsia's hands waved over Rian's, coaxing the blood to stay where it belonged. "Can't do much on the cut itself I'm afraid." She looks at the mess of petals floating to the ground. "Or, whatever... that was."Bloodlust Enchantment - Aura Enchant creature Enchanted creature gets +2/+0 and damage dealt by it can't be prevented. Mistbubble Rune - eh. kinda small effect, dunno if this actually makes it anywhere, and is pretty underwhelming for uncommon. 6.5/10

I can feel my grin even though Karina can't see it. "I'll keep that in mind." Reyhsia pokes her head into the room, seeing Hannah still holding Karina. "Well, what are you two up to?" she asks slyly. "Uh..." Karina's cheeks turn a bit pink before Hannah cuts in. "I was waiting on my tunnel to charge up anyways so I came to talk with Karina." Hannah is somehow more smiley than normal. "I see..." Reyhsia says with a small smile. "Well, Karina, we should be going. Little miss Nisita can come if she likes. And I think you'll want to bring this." She sets Aiden's spear against the wall. Karina looked back to where she had set it earlier. "How did you-" "You have your secrets, I have mine." she teased.
"I... I said that because that's what he- we wanted." Allen blushed.

Are you ready for a heaping helping of story posts? No? Well, too bad!
"So little intern, Reyhs has told me you need one of these," the baker pulled out a curved device and showed it to me. I recognized it as something Reyhsia had worn on her ear sometimes. "This is a communicator, uses a bit of magic from Pidge, myself, and," she paused, her eyes flickering to Reyhsia for a second.

"some other friends of mine. You tap this button to turn it on or off, then say the person you want to talk with. You're connected to Reyhs by default, but you can call Pidge or me, Sevid, the same way. Don't try to call yourself though, I won't replace this or your ear if you do that." She gives a laugh at my worried face. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I'll replace it the first time." She helps me slip the comm over my ear.
"I needta apologize to ya, li'l rascal." Pidge says a bit downcast. "The device that trapped ya, that 'bout killed Reyhs, that was on me. I thought'd do a lotta good, stopping the criminals and the like Reyhs deals with all the time, keeping people outta places they shouldn't. That is... not what happened at all."
"I wantcha to have these," she said, pulling out a pair of goggles from her giant backpack. "Callem the SIGHT, they're pretty good at seeing through illusions and the like. Hopefully if that twisted hat ever shows its face again, you'll be ready with these. It can't make up for what I did to ya, but I hope it helps."
"So. You and I have a lot to talk about, I think." Reyhsia had brought me to her room after the funeral. I sat on her bed as she walked around the room.
I looked to the floor. "I know I screwed up. Like, a lot. You almost died."
"What? Oh. Right. That..." she sat down next to me and wrapped an arm around me. "Listen, little bandar. I got a tiny taste of what you went through. I was gone for a week, and I woke up surrounded by friends and a brave little girl who risked a lot to save me. And even with all that, I didn't want to talk about it either."
"Yes, I wish you had. Yes, that is what the 7CI is all about. But I'm not going to hold that against you, as long as you don't do something like that again, alright? You've had your time to be scared. Now's your chance to be brave."
"Alright." I whisper.
Reyhsia lets out a heavy sigh. "Okay. Now, I did want to talk about the hat, just not... that part. I can't remember anything between putting it on and taking it off. There's a few things I know that I don't remembering knowing before, but I don't have any memories of it. Is that what happened to you?" I winced at the memories. "Oh, no, I, if you don't-"
"It's okay." I say. "I've had my time to be scared, right?" Reyhsia's face twisted into a weird frown. "I didn't mean-" "No, I know. I can talk."
"I don't remember much from the beginning. I don't know how I got here. One of the first things I remember is Director Rettai finding me, he offered me a job for some reason, and I said yes. I guess the hat said yes too. Kirino tried to help me a few times. There was this armored cat that tried to help me too. I haven't seen them since then." My face fell a bit. "When the rowboat attacked, it was like waking up from a dream. I only kind of remember what happened before. I know pretty much everything that happened after though."
"That was like, a week before you got out? Two?" Reyhsia asked with that sad face.
"Something like that, yes." My eyes drifted away from her. "I tried a lot of things to get rid of the hat. I... I tried helping the hat even. But I finally beat it."
Reyhsia sits in silence for a minute. "I had... no idea. I was there for so much of it, and I never figured it out. I'm so sorry little bandar." She pulled me into a hug.
"It's... okay." I force myself to say. "I didn't... I don't..." She lets me go and looks in my eyes, her eyes sad and shining.
"You didn't know me, did you?" she finished.
"I know you taught me to read." I said automatically. "I know... you were there a lot. Watching out for me, keeping me safe. But... I didn't really know you, no." She stands up and tries not to look at me. "But... it doesn't have to stay that way?"

"So is this why you and Hannah were so dodgy this morning? Weren't sure you could trust old lady Reyhs?" she laughed for the first time since we started talking.
"What? No! Not exactly... Anyway, she was right. Her tunnel was charging so she came to talk."
"I've seen a lotta stuff kid. Never seen anyone talk with their arms like that." Her smile from before was back.
"We were!" I insisted. "Mostly! We were talking about... well..."
"If you don't trust me, it's fine," she waved away, "I'll find out sooner or later anyway."
I thought for a minute. No more secrets, I decided. "Last night, Hannah kissed me and said she loved me. And I didn't know and I didn't know what to do and kind of panicked a lot. We were talking about that."
"Last night?" Reyhsia raised an eyebrow. "And you still didn't know?"
"She didn't tell me!" I protested. Reyhsia shook her head and laughed.
"Kiddo, I know I missed a lot, but I do know a few things. You basically saved her life, and then barely left her side until she got better. And when she did, she gave you this," she poked at the transceiver, "that lets you two talk and find each other no matter where you end up. Can tell you first hand none of my friends did the same for me, not for free at least."
"I could have used that advice a few days ago." I crossed my arms jokingly.
"Well, remember that before you put me in the medbay next time," she teases back.
I walked into Doctor Arueth's clinic. Time for another round of therapy. After the last few days, I was feeling better about it, but still nervous.

"Last time, we wrote down some things that we wanted to you to believe in, and some things that you actually believed, as far as we could discern. Today, we're going to read through those again and see how you've improved. MAY THE GLORY OF THE SUN BURN AWAY ALL DECEPTION AND LEAVE ONLY THE TRUTH!"

"I brought the hat to the Arena. I'm the reason it attacked the 7CI. Reyhsia almost died because of me." I give a weak smile at the last one.
"I didn't deserve what happened to me." I didn't say. I frown again. That one didn't feel right. Aiden, Hannah, Reyhsia... hadn't they shown me otherwise? Doctor Arueth writes something down and I look up to him, more confident this time. "I didn't deserve what happened to me."
"There you go," he said. "What changed your mind?"
"Over the past few days, I've learned about stuff I did that I never even thought about. Learned that there are people that think I didn't deserve it. And I trust them."
I looked down to the last line sadly. "Do I have to do the last one?" I pleaded. "I don't want to think about that one anymore."
The doctor smiled. "I think you should, yes."
I sighed and looked down at the ugly sentence. "Everything good that's ever happened to me is because the hat did it for me." I mouthed. I looked up to the doctor with a look of surprise. "Everything good that's ever happened to me is because the hat did it for me," I didn't say with a grin. "Everything good that's ever happened to me is because the hat did it for me!" I didn't scream to the ceiling.

Dealing with an unknown enemy is something that usually excites Aylin, but not today. Today she's dealing with an unknown geomancer , and maybe her enemy isn't even that. If there's one thing that has kept Aylin going all these years, it's the knowledge she excels at what she does. After everything geomancy has cost her, at least she's glad that she has something to show for it, so facing someone on her own line of magic always unsettles her, especially since this "Sevid" has proven to have some tricks she wasn't even aware existed.She knows exactly what her first move is. She could go all-out like she did with Kirino, but back then she had an army to back her up. She can't afford to give her all at the beginning, so instead she does something that's powerful enough to send a message but not powerful enough to leave her drained.She raises a massive statue of herself outside the muffin shop, but she makes it hollow, both to save energy and to test a theory.The statue is exactly the same height as the building, and the message it sends is clear: "I've found you, it's your move now."Tribute to GeomancyLand , Pay 1 life: Add .  : Until end of turn, ~ becomes a 5/5 Elemental creature with haste, trample and "Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, that player sacrifices a land." It's still a land.

Dealing with an unknown enemy is something that usually excites Aylin, but not today. Today she's dealing with an unknown geomancer , and maybe her enemy isn't even that. If there's one thing that has kept Aylin going all these years, it's the knowledge she excels at what she does. After everything geomancy has cost her, at least she's glad that she has something to show for it, so facing someone on her own line of magic always unsettles her, especially since this "Sevid" has proven to have some tricks she wasn't even aware existed.She knows exactly what her first move is. Get out."Closing time!" Sevid yells at the few people in the bakery. "Take the plates and whatever, just get out!" The maps littering the walls fly around the room and settle themselves into a bag Sevid was strapping to her back. "If we're still here tomorrow, you can have one on the house."
Sevid stood at a safe distance from the bakery as the lone geomancer strutted over to the doors. Her hand hovered over the Atlas, ready to counter whatever Aylin was planning... But she wasn't expecting something so... pedestrian. She stared in confusion for a moment. She reached to wipe away the monument, then smiled and started walking towards the geomancer admiring her work.
"Oh my sun! Is it really Aylin?" an elf yells excitedly behind Aylin. She's wearing a hat and burdened with a pack practically overflowing with paper, and still holding yet another one in her hand. "I can't believe it! I've been following your work since you arrived on the Arena, and I have to say, I think this one is your best yet! The structure, the magnificence, the giant Aylin-ness of it all, it's perfect!""You've inspired me to create this map of the Arena, and it's really great if I do say so myself, please, please take a look!" she presents the map, one hand covering the bakery as the other points all around the map. "Just look at how perfect it is, from the sandy beaches, to the stone filled fissures, I've even got Kirino's gravestone!" her excitement seems to grow with every word. She moves her hand away from the bakery. "Of course, I don't have this wonderful piece on here yet because you just made- oh no!" she yells, pointing the the statue of Aylin, now just a crumbling pile of sand. Tribute to Hubris Enchantment - Aura Enchant artifact or nonbasic land Enchanted permanent is a colorless land with " : Add " and loses all other card types and abilities.
Tribute to Geomancy - beeg manland. I like it. 10/10 |
