Dieule straightens itself out after missing Troischa, and fires three small containers at the limbs approaching it from a barrel at its front. The quarter-sized cartridges attach themselves to Troischa's glowing limbs before firing off rocket fuel to the sides, finishing their bursts as Troischa's limbs hit the ground around Dieule. Wiry Chaincutter Artifact , Sacrifice ~: Destroy target artifact or enchantment. Wiry Chaincutter: Having Phyrexian mana in the activation cost but regular colored mana in the casting cost feels off to me, especially when that's the only ability on the card. I'll grant it's much less ugly than a naturalize would be, but it still doesn't feel like it's making great use of the mechanic. 7/10.The limbs detach from Troischa's chassis as the cartridges hit them, clawing at the ground in an attempt to slow their momentum and crawl back toward Dieule. She twists in midair, her one remaining limb coiling into a spring beneath her to soften her fall. Her landing is accompanied by a series of rapid clicks, as what might be her chest opens up to reveal a deep cylindrical pit that hums with radiance: a dim red glow that grows to blinding white in a fraction of a second, moving slower than light should but still much too fast to grant even a moment's hesitation to anything in its path. Scouring Beam Instant ~ deals 2 damage to any target. If an artifact creature is dealt damage this way, exile it.

The wave engulfs the freed faerie, knocking her back. Her wings quickly buzz, throwing off the oil from them, and she flees from the tendrils and the fight completely. Alga flies up, the oil wave barely touching her leg as she goes to join the aggressor faerie. Together, the two try to pull the trapped faerie free, and will quickly follow the fleeing faerie if they do.
Briar sneered at the machine and her own fleeing soldiers. She wouldn't be able to win this battle alone, but she wasn't going out without one final blow...
Faerie dust gathered again, this time a very dark color, forming around her like a storm cloud. She flies higher as she chants.
"I call on judgement from the throne, To strike down forces yet unknown, Let living flesh, cold steel, and bone,
Be step by step, turned back to stone!" // At the final word, the collected dust surges for Dieule, if they're still here. If the curse works, Dieule will be very slowly turned to stone. Or perhaps it will backfire and only make
the machine even tougher...
Legendary Enchantment - Aura Curse Enchant opponent Whenever enchanted player casts a spell, put a curse counter on The Fae Queen's Curse. Then that player loses X life unless they pay , where X is the number of curse counters on The Fae Queen's Curse. , Discard three cards: Destroy The Fae Queen's Curse. Any player may activate this ability.
that can go as fast or slow or be worked around (or just plain dodged) as you like. is based on an actual disease where your muscles and other tissue slowly turns to bone over time. Overdrive Core - looks good 8/10I'm so sorry, I thought I replied to thisThe Fae Queen's Curse: 9/10. I want the removal cost to be less mana, but other than that I like it. Dieule looks on as they allow the faeries to escape, and faces Briar as she recites the spell. "My chassis is warm enough." Dieule directs oil from the ground around them and fires it towards the dust, creating a large, oilball-shaped rock that falls to the ground almost dangerously close to Dieule, as remaining specks of dust fall and create tiny patches of rock out of the oil and grass. "I would recommend joining your allies for now. I am sure we will meet again, Ms. Faerie."
Whether or not Briar leaves, Dieule begins to retreat into the forest. Mindless Drone Creature - Spawn As long as you have one or less cards in your hand, Mindless Drone gets +3/+2. 2/3 *The idea being that I pay 3 and discard 3 cards to be at or under 1 card in hand

Scouring Beam Instant ~ deals 2 damage to any target. If an artifact creature is dealt damage this way, exile it. Scouring Beam: 9/10. It seems situational, but I see it as one of those commons that gets used a lot in limited for an artifact-heavy set. Which is a respectable niche. Before the humming even finishes, Dieule prepares to dodge, and falls to the ground in order to make way for the blinding beam that soars above its chassis. Jumping back up, Dieule scutters away from the limbs approaching it. "A laser is rather intense weaponry for a friendly duel, no? I imagined we would just inflict wear and tear." A click is heard as Dieule readies a shot. Flexible Hardware Sorcery Target creature gains hexproof until end of turn. If it's an artifact creature, it gains indestructible until end of turn. "All living things think they know how to move, but often they learn new strength and speed when the oil is the one moving their muscles."-Dieule

Gift of Experience: There's a lot going on here. I feel like "Choose X" cards should either have a connecting theme or simple, focused effects, and this appears to have neither. The hand revealing and scry both feel tacked on, particularly the former (and I really dislike unnecessary hand revealing in general, because it removes most of the game's bluffing element and can also be fiddly on paper.) As for the trigger itself, I don't really see the point; 99% of the time it happens right at the start of your opponent's turn anyway if not sooner, and I think you'll usually want to use it right away (and if you don't, it's an onboard combat trick, which is fine if the card demands it but can lead to decision paralysis in sufficiently high densities). The Phyrexian mana also feels tacked on to me, but I guess I shouldn't mark you down too much just for trying a Monomania run with a mechanic that I happen to dislike. Lastly, I don't understand why a card named "Gift of Experience" is an artifact, let alone one with this particular set of abilities. I'll give it this, though: it clearly provoked a strong emotional reaction from me, so I can appreciate it as an art piece even if I don't like it as a card. (Edit: This was really, unnecessarily harsh and I apologize. I want to be clear I don't think any less of your design skills just because you made one card I wasn't a fan of, and I will try to avoid posting after 2 AM in the future.) Tl;dr: There's a nice, simple sorcery somewhere in here, but it's covered in unnecessary bits I dislike. 5/10.The spheres splatter against Dieule, coating them in immobilizing goo.At the admission of defeat, Troischa's limbs and metal plates retract, revealing a recognizably human woman once again. The ooze instantly comes loose, flowing downward to pool at Dieule's feet."Oh, please. That was nothing. You should see me when I'm mad." Troischa waves her hand dismissively and saunters back toward Dieule, grinning with pride. "But let's focus on the important question: did you have fun?"She pauses mid-stride, frowns. "Did that translate? I don't know if you Phyrexians have a word for that."Lost in Translation Instant Exile target spell. Its controller reveals cards from the top of their library until they reveal a nonland card with lesser converted mana cost. That player casts that spell without paying its mana cost if able, then shuffles their library.

Spellgranter Orb: Now this one I like quite a bit, though I don't think the first ability works with phyrexian-mana spells cast purely through life payments, which is unfortunate. In any case, this seems like a better use of phyrexian mana than most. 9/10.Troischa gives the phyrexian a small smile, sadder but more genuine than her previous manic grins. For a moment, she looks almost vulnerable."I get it. Well, that's progress, at least."
The moment passes, and her usual confidence returns. "Let's do this again sometime, OK? I'll contact you once I find a way out of this scrapheap."
{Do you remember when we were human?}The boy's scowl of disapproval hurts more than years of walking barefoot on rusted metal ever did.
"We're not people, ********." He spits out the word 'people' like a wad of plastic at the bottom of a soup can. "We're something better. All these things you think make you human are holding you back."
"But people aren't all bad." She reaches around the oldest, darkest corners of her mind for a reason to justify this burning conviction inside her throat. Something, anything, before it fades again. "My mother-"
"The one who abandoned you?"
"She didn't-"
"How would you know?" The boy is loud enough to make their presence known. ******** wants to shush him, but the fear and pain and anger and feeling-she-doesn't-know are locked in a deadly battle inside her head, trapping her in the eye of the emotional storm. "Do you even remember what she looked like?"
The anger wins out. Her hand flies out to slap the boy across the face... and falls to pieces inches from his skin.
She stares, too shocked for coherent thought, at the exploded anatomical diagram her flesh and blood and finger bones trace through the air. She can feel every screaming nerve ending, every clump of meat inside the disconnected archipelago. Nothing else matters, nothing else could possibly have space to exist, besides this awful twisted monument of pain. She waits eons for the mercy of unconsciousness, but it never comes.
And yet... some part of ******** still knows the hand is hers. She tries to shift one of the fleshy islands, and it moves aside under the strain. Slowly, excruciatingly, she realizes that she is piecing her hand back together. And the pain begins to fade.
She remembers her life, though a part of her wishes she couldn't. She remembers the boy she sees standing in front of her, inches from her recreated hand. She remembers what had happened in the moments before eternity.
"You... broke my hand." Is all she can think of to say.
There is no warmth in the boy's smile. "And you fixed it. Could a person do what you or I did just now?"
"I... guess not?" She stares again at the boy, the beautiful cruel boy in the ragged blue jumpsuit whose eyes showed no trace of humanity, and notices something new amidst the awe and terror and unnameable something she felt before.
Perhaps she was a monster, something both more and less than human. But there were worse things to be. Like lost, scared, hungry, and alone.
What had people ever done for her anyway?
She stares at the boy who promises freedom from all her torments. And, for the first time she can remember, she smiles.

pacifistwestwoman "There you are. "Really, I'm sorry for leaving so abruptly last time. I… suddenly had a lot on my mind." "But this should make up for it!" Troischa's hair fades to a light brown, her irises turn silver, and the bones of her face bend and crackle as they ever so slightly rearrange themselves. Dieule flinches at Troischa's explosive entrance, before calming itself and listening to her proposal. "Oh, absolutely..." The machine doesn't have much of a face to smile with, but it radiates a devious energy nonetheless. The ground around Dieule shifts, becoming wet and black, as oil surges to the surface, then atop the chassis of the arachnoid, like an upriver rapid, before seeping into the machine, leaving it looking mostly the same, apart from a dark tint on its formerly reflective body. "For the record, while I have met the ice mage, I would be more worried about the alchemist and the chronomancer. If they find out that we mean to leave the plane, I imagine they'll try to stop us, and I encountered some difficulty with managing them the last time we fought." Skittish Spitter: The fact that killing even one of these board-wipes you if you play 4 of them and another X/1 creature turn 1 is an amusing balance mechanism, but I'm not convinced it's necessary (and honestly I think it sounds frustratingly swingy in practice), so I'd prefer the trigger as a may. Either way, it should probably be an uncommon for board complexity reasons. 8/10."Yeah, I've met the 'alchemist' too and quite frankly I'm not impressed." Troischa waves a hand dismissively. "Destination? These tunnels are typical newby junk, we're lucky they even work at all, but they've got to lead somewhere nice enough that... wait, hold up."
Her body tenses as if expecting an attack, eyes still trained on Dieule. "What sort of chronomancer are we talking about here? And they didn't by any chance happen to look like a twelve-year-old, did they?" Uncoil Fate Instant Return target spell or creature to its owner's hand, then that player puts a card from their hand on top of their library. Uncoil Fate: 10/10. The fact that it can target either a spell or a creature is balanced well with the fact that it's just return to hand, and being blue/black means there's plenty of opportunity to mill the card that got put on top, though it also gives a choice of which card leaves the hand. Dieule seems confused at the question. "Female, red hair. She did appear young at first, though it seems that she shifted into a more matured form during the fight. Showed the ability to slow and stop momentum within a small area, and opened an unknown portal to a high density of aether."

It's not bad, but I don't see why it would change base power and toughness. Fits nice in red, and in equipment decks in general, but feels really weird and potentially bad outside of that niche. A couple of black, oil tendrils emerge from Dieule's chassis, and lift the phyrexian a few feet off the ground, and carry it towards Troischa. pacifistwestwoman Caltrop Field: I like the flavor on the first ability. Second one I'm less sure about; why are caltrops making your creatures tougher? Would have expected some kind of reactive damage effect instead. Also a bit worried by how much harder it could make combat math, but it's an interesting effect and on a one-off rare, so I think it's justified here. 9/10."First, happy to have you on board. Second, this is my cautious approach. Third, I'm more worried about what they might do to the portals if they arrive before us. The Hunt Begins: 9/10. This is interesting. It gives the vibe of an Anti-Fog. It seems just a bit cheap, though. Out for Blood: 7/10. I like the idea, but I'm very cautious about the execution, especially because I don't think making Bladebrand a sorcery is enough to justify it targeting all creatures you control. As the faeries and Entelans chase after Dieule, they see two small yellow glowing balls, similar to the one that was within Dieule's oil "head," hidden in the shade of the underbrush, moving around, moving... closer, keeping pace with those in pursuit. Suddenly, Four oil tendrils lash out from the shadows at the Entelans and the faeries. Dieule attempts to use the distraction to hide in the bushes. Some of the faeries have eyes on the glowing orbs, but do not see the tendrils coming. A male dives to block for Briar, but they both take the hit from the tendril.
A report comes in as she tries to right herself. "Its headed into the bushes!"
Briar growled. The Skull Court already had their grubby mitts all over this brush and her strength was already fading from so many Decrees so close together. But that machine wasn't getting away. Green magic swirled around Briar as she coaxed the brushes to grow and snare Dieule as they hide. Dig Down Instant As an additional cost to cast Dig Down, pay 3 life. Destroy target artifact or enchantment. Its controller loses 3 life. Cultic Unifier - i suspect this would be at rare between making combat math weird and the ability to kill X/Xs 9/10

Leira's dragonflies are undeterred. They smoothly glide around the tendrils without consequence, and so they end up hovering above the Phyrexian as it tries to hide. The humans are slightly more deterred. The three soldiers jump away from the first attack from the tendrils, and the two that actually have weapons immediately duck as the third one pushes off against the ground in a jump high enough to clear his ducking squadmates. A pulse of electricity generates itself beneath him and shoves itself outwards, just overhead of the other two humans.Radial Convergence Instant Radial Convergence deals 3 damage to any target. If Radial Convergence was cast during the declare attackers or declare blockers step, it deals 2 damage to each creature you don't control. (Because this friend had to block.) Speaking of this friend, it's only doing things that colors can do in a set where counters can exist. Unsure about 2/5 for 3 with that upside but it does cost 4 life, so hard to tell. 8/10 cajunRadial Convergence: 9/10. The only thing I think I would change about it is make it specifically attacking creatures or blocking creatures. Although I'm torn, because I would love to cast it while two other players are fighting, to deal damage to both sides. Dig Down: 10/10. I think it fits well at uncommon. The tentacles are stunned by the electric blast, leaving themselves open for a few seconds. If allowed, they resume their attacks, grabbing and disarming anything they can. Briar's magics caused the bush beneath Leria's dragonfly to grow, twisting and deforming as it grabs Dieule, however, as it does, it also seeps with oil. Whether that's due to Briar's magics or Dieule's actions, it's hard to tell. It may well be both. "Ah, I don't think I've seen anyone use lightning magics on this plane yet. And alongside such impressive weaponry. May I take a closer look at one of those?" Phyrexian Reanimator Creature - Phyrexian Wizard Whenever another nontoken permanent you control is put into a graveyard, you may pay . If you do, mill 2, then return to your hand target artifact or creature card that wasn't put there this turn. 2/3

Maybe that meant their weapons were better for the job though...
Vines grow from the hands of some of the faeries, another of them picking up the end as they grow long enough. Any tentacles that survive the aether they'll begin wrapping the vines around, then try to pin them to the ground. The brush around Dieule twists, doing its best to obscure their "eye" while exposing the rest of their head.

Dieule isn't attempting to mind control anyone here, I'm just using it to take an indestructible creature and use it to block another one. "Oh, no, I don't mind at all." The Entelan pulls the explosive free of her belt. "Actually, you've made my job much easier by doing that."
The grenadier tosses the explosive device into the air, latches onto it with some kind of spell, and flings it towards the Phyrexian. If the device hits anything with any appreciable velocity, the internal components break and aether contacts the mass of tenebrite inside the explosive, resulting in a detonation of brilliant golden light the size of the one that crumbled the building in EPIC's outpost. A shimmering, curved field of magic is ready to deflect any energy or fragments of debris sent in the directions of the faeries or the three Entelans. This one manages to find itself into out-of-color territory. Green, white, and red don't get to do this, even with a payment of 4 life. Probably also too cheap given the usual cost on these is what you have it costed at when people aren't paying life for it. 6/10 Tenebrite Collapse Sorcery Creatures and planeswalkers you don't control lose indestructible until end of turn.
