Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our two-hundred and seventy-first! The winner of the "Modern + Timespiraled = Fun" poll was Aarhg with...And the challenge issued by our winner was... Tokens have always been a fun and unique part of Magic design and gameplay, so this week's challenge is all about them. To make things a little more interesting though, let's have a catch. Design a card that, in on way or another, makes one or more noncreature, nonartifact tokens. To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post.And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

Decided to remove the double X. It just felt a bit too expensive for sorcery speed totem armor, especially since it's legendary. {Old Entry} Debating dropping the double X cost since it's legendary, but we'll see

I really love tokens! Difficult not doing creatures or artifacts, but here's my entry, I hope I didn't miss anything and that it's not broken :
[Edit] Thanks to collex I changed some wording ; but I kept the strange-static ability since Mirror Gallery already did it and I used to enjoy this card.

For fans of Imperial Mask:
Pain Inducer Enchantment When Pain Inducer enters the battlefield, if it’s not a token, each other player creates a token that’s a copy of Pain Inducer. At the beginning of your upkeep, if this permanent is a token, you lose life equal to the number of permanents named Pain Inducer on the battlefield.

powernoelI think your card has potential, but if I could suggest a few improvements: The static ability feels more silver-border than black-border, and unless you really want all legendary permanents to lose legendary (including your opponents), I'd simply rewrite the first activated ability with a wording similar to the one on Jace, Cunning Castaway:
Create a token that is a copy of Gleyst Twinman, except it's not legendary. Its loyalty abilities cannot be activated this turn.
That frees you some space to add another ability (wheter static or loyalty) -- have fun. Also, I would tweak the wording on the second ability very slightly Remove up to one loyalty counter from each planeswalker you control. Draw a card for each loyalty counter removed this way.
Finally, "Planeswalker" in the type line should be capitalized. Keep up the good work!

Alright, I've tried to make sorcery tokens work. There would most definitely need to be some new rules added, so that these token spells can be in zones other than the battlefield without ceasing to exist, but it's feasible... I think. If nothing else, it was at least fun to come up something a little more wacky than what I usually produce.
To make gameplay easier, Burden tokens would look the same on both sides. That way they're always visible to all players, as they must be.
As of Unstable, putting things into hands not of their owners is strictly an Un- thing. See X, et. al.

It's not completely far-fetched that WotC could make these changes, were something like this ever to be printed. They've surprised us before.

I wanted to do a sorcery token too, but after reviewing the rules (notably 110.5f) it seems there'd have to be a huge overhaul to the rules before this gamespace could be fully explored. After WAR, I'm stoked about planeswalkers with static abilities and fewer activated ones. They're fun to design for since they can be a little stronger than enchantments due to their combat weakness. I made this card as a spoof on Temple Bell:

Can someone think of a better name? This was supposed to "reset" and protect a permanent but since it could give protection at the beginning instead the name of the sorcery seems a bit dodgy. {New Submission} Newer Submission:

{Token Version} 👀 Pyrenite Twins Legendary Planeswalker — Pyrenite When Pyrenite Twins enters the battlefield, if it’s not a token, create a token that’s a copy of it. If you control exactly two permanents named Pyrenite Twins, the “legend rule” doesn’t apply to them. : Pyrenite Twins deals 1 damage to any target. : If target permanent you control would deal damage to a permanent or player this turn, it deals that much damage plus 2 to that permanent or player instead. EDIT: Tweaked my entry a bit and removed "target spell". What was I thinking? Thanks shifty. Godsbone is a lit name Oh also I tweaked the art to be at the same zoom level so now you can do this. Yay. {Twins}

The idea here is that the creature that dies leaves a legacy in form of an aura. The creature receiving the legacy only receives a plus on base P and T, and the Static abilities of the Died creature. Flying, first strike, deathtouch Whenever Mother of the Repudiated deals combat damage to an opponent, create a 1/1 black, red and green insect creature token. When Mother of the Repudiated dies, create an aura enchantment token with enchant creature and “enchanted creature gets +1/+3 and has flying, first strike and deathtouch” then attach it to target creature you control. My entry this week. Considered making her and the Soul token / but in the end felt like Black was enough. Might change my mind if I make other cards with the mechanic. A few pieces of feedback before I go: gateways7 - Love this card! A great way to do Vampirism. Bravo. ludvikeverviolet - While your card is good, that keyword drives me up the wall. First, you need a comma between dies and the keyword. Second, keyword actions are usually verbs, because the grammar looks all kind of weird otherwise. Third, the name of the keyword feels hyper-specific to this one card. If you plan on reusing it, I'd change the name to Legacy. Fourth, if you don't plan on reusing the ability, don't keyword it. Just cut the first two words of the reminder text and use that.

O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami was something of a letdown. For the first of the Kami of Kamigawa, the strongest and the greatest of them, he had nothing to do with spirit tribal. Which is... fair enough; Kamigawa's spirit theme was one of its weakest mechanically. But there is a mechanic out of Kamigawa I see a lot in commander, and that's the Honden shrines! After all, the strength of Kamigawa was its flavour more than its actual cards, so why not take advantage of that and give Shrine tribal a try? And what better way to do this than with O-Kagachi's replacements, the Sisters-of-Flesh-and-Spirit, guardians of Kamigawa and unification of Michiko Konda and That-Which-Was-Taken, also known as Kyodai. Kyodai and Michiko Legendary Creature — Spirit As Kyodai and Michiko enters the battlefield, for each color, create a Shrine enchantment token named “Honden of Flesh-and-Spirit” that is that color. Sacrifice a Shrine: Target creature gains your choice of vigilance, lifelink, flying, or indestructible until end of turn. 6/6 I tried a few approaches, including giving your opponents shrines that if they messed with the Sisters would punish them, but the fun of running the shrines is getting all of them out yourself. I tried making the shrines actually do things, but it felt too complicated and word heavy, and I liked the idea of having a shrine of each colour. Given it was Kamigawa, I also wanted it to drip with flavour, but I couldn't fit that on the card itself. In the end I went with having a clean, clear design, with the draw being the interaction with the existing shrines more than any new gimmick, and let the tokens do the talking. Overall, I'm quite happy with it, and loved the prompt! Here are the individual renders:
