Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our two-hundred and sixty-eighth! The winners of the "Under the Sea" poll were melono (left), shiftyhomunculus (right) and spazlaz (bottom) with...And the challenge issued by one of our winners was... Design a card that in some way represents something to do with any organized sport. Be it soccer, hockey, football, curling, gladiatorial combat, or jellyfish catching to name but a few. To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

Goblin Cricket Ball Artifact - Equipment Whenever Goblin Cricket Ball becomes attached to a creature, flip a coin. If you lose the flip, sacrifice Goblin Cricket Ball and it deals 4 damage to that creature. Equipped creature has “ : Attach Goblin Cricket Ball to target creature.” Equip Cricket is a goblin game mentioned in The Colors of Magic (in the Red section of course). Basically they play American football with explosives.

I'll consider this a shitpost only if it doesn't win.
Perfectly Comprehensible Sport Legendary Enchantment Whenever an opponent fringes a ring, you may ramble a grassoof. If you do, you may Jolly Roger a rounder, then peggle a threelawn. Otherwise, gnaffle a squamish.

Small update to my entry. It's now a sorcery, and I added a needed "until end of turn" clause for the +2/+0.
I'm contemplating having it cost just a single now though.

It's a little tricky to get the balance right, 'cause if you look at a card like Flame Slash, you can reasonably put 4 damage on a creature at sorcery speed. Joust could very well end up putting more damage on the opponent's creature, but there a high chance you're putting your own guy at risk of dying as well, basically 2-for-1'ing yourself. With Joust costing , I don't see it as much more than a limited card. At one mana less, it's a riskier Prey Upon that probably has more of a home in aggressive token decks than in big stompy lists.
Edit: Ah, screw it - I'll make it cost . It doesn't seem better than Prey Upon to me, and even that card doesn't see much play. Gotta push the envelope just a teeny bit.

Spark Ball, a game played among Planeswalkers that lets them show off their unique magical talents in an effort to score points with a ball of pure magical energy.

Bowl Over Enchantment When ~ enters the battlefield, create ten 1/1 colorless Construct artifact creature tokens with defender under an opponents control. At the beginning of your second main phase, untap each creature you control that attacked this turn. After this phase there is an additional combat phase followed by an additional main phase. You set'em up, we'll knock'em down!

Probably will still have to make some corrections to the wording on future edits but... Well, here it is XD
