Yeah, for those of you who don't bother with Discord drama, (1) you have more restrain than I do, (2) you're probably not going to care about this, but that's fine, I just want a place to put this so that I don't have to say it five times over.
Lately my life has been going into the toilet lately, for reasons that I don't want to go into since we're all pretty much anonymous. If someone calls you a jerk on the internet, whether or not he's dealing with the world slowly collapsing around him and going through a few decisions to plan out the next decade of his life all within the span of a few days, that doesn't excuse that he called you a jerk. There's still an accountability there, and lately, I've been that jerk calling people jerks.
I've been getting into a few arguments with some members of the community lately as a means of both venting part of my stress and to try to answer to a few things that some people have said that set me off, or in retaliation to a few bad faith arguments (I'm still baffled at how somebody can take a politically neutral statement like 'the violent conspiracy theorists of both parties justify themselves with similar reasons' and try to turn it into something partisan), or a bunch of petty things that weren't worth the drama. I'm not going to accuse anyone of any of those since they all have a common factor - I haven't been exercising a healthy level of self-control with snapping at people lately, the arguments involved shouldn't have escalated in the first place, and I haven't taken a step back to leave an argument before things got nasty. I've already had somebody quit on a community project I was heading for this, and I don't want to nurture any worse feelings for anyone involved, or make anyone feel like that's going to be a routine thing.
Just for the sake of clarity, the above screencap wasn't the first time this happened.
That's why I think it's best if I go on haitus until all of this shit blows over. Could be two weeks. Could be never. Don't know.
Normally I would just throw my hands up, log out, and say I'm done, but some people here have been patient with me so far, so I owe it to them to at least provide some sort of closure. Well, that, and I needed to type it out, so that I can keep this in mind when/if I come back.
The Prophecies Begin - I would like to say project is on hiatus unless someone who knows the series volunteers to take up a loremaster position. I tried to gear everything starting from the beginning of the arc, but there's still some stuff that would need cut, but if we're honest here there's nothing physically stopping anyone from making any mechanical alterations to anything and to keep moving forward without me (just please don't touch Battle for the Moorlands because that card is too funny to change). If you want to just quit altogether because you can't dissociate the project from that jerk that eats babies, then that's fine too.
Boo3 - My entries were submitted. Monger reviewed them and gave a lot of helpful criticism, so I think they should be good to use. If there's something you absolutely need me to do for the sake of it being a community project (like a review or anything), PM me on Discord.
I've also went ahead and judged all of the forum games I was involved with. Don't like the results? Well, don't know what to say.
So... Yeah...
Bye for now.
