I'm tossing around ideas for a mechanic for my first set to give to a U/B faction. I wanted to originally reuse Skulk and fill in some design holes R&D didn't take for SOI, but that doesn't seem like enough "umph" to really base anything around.
Playing around with a mechanic that could coexist with skulk and B/U evasion in general, I started wording an ability we'll call "Trespass."
(Ignore the set logo, I didn't use my sandbox project for this.)
I wanted to go with something that was like an inverse of Afflict, and had trouble scaling the static bonus, so I said 'screw it' and made it give a temporary characteristic of the creature so that other cards could give it a boon when the creature is trespassing.
I already proposed a primitive version of it in the thread for the set's Starting Project's page, but I want feedback for this mechanic in a vacuum, since if we don't use it there, then I want to use something like it elsewhere. Is something like this too weak/powerful? Does it need the static boost dropped or made dependent? Should I give up on giving the characteristic of the card? Is it mechanically sound? Is my wording bad?
I'm open to suggesting, but honestly I'm just looking for feedback and suggestions for this mechanic.
I use this site on mobile a lot, so please forgive the occasional misspelling or two.
