Set Name: Carpe Arcanum
Three Letter Abbreviation: CAC
Number of Cards: 90
Design & Development Team: HerziQuerzi
{Cadence}
{Orchestrate}
{Conjure}
{Animus}
{Rahit}
Homeplane: Kaladesh
Gender: Male
Age: 34
Bio: A natural-born teacher, Rahit excells at guiding others and encouraging them to succeed. While his technical prowess was nothing remarkable, he had a knack for the manipulation of aether. However, an experiment gone wrong nearly cost him his life, only saved by the ignition of his spark.
In the years since, he has made Arcanum his home, becoming a well known face amidst the academics of the plane. Believing that all have the potential for greatness, no matter their walk of life, he hosts free to attend public lectures on a wide variety of topics when he’s not busy writing thesises.
Design Philosophy: Not being one interested in supremacy, his abilities should reflect his helpful, guiding nature. Effects should be group-hug in style. More specifically, letting everyone do the same thing, but with him doing it slightly better.
In terms of this particular card, the first two abilities reflect this idea fairly obviously. Less obvious is the ult, but when you get down to it, you and your opponent are both losing a CMC X card; you’re just in charge of when and how it happens.

{Rulings}XXX. Archive
XXX.1 - Archives are a nonpermanent card type.
XXX.2 - A player who has priority may cast an archive card from his or her hand during a main phase of his or her turn when the stack is empty. Casting an archive as a spell uses the stack. (See rule 601, “Casting Spells.”)
XXX.3 - When an archive spell resolves, its controller puts it into his or her library zone under his or her control.
XXX.4 - If a player would draw a card while they own multiple libraries, and the draw effect doesn't specify a library, that player chooses which library they own to draw from.
XXX.4b - If a player would draw multiple cards at once, each card draw is chosen seperately.
XXX.5 - If an effect would refer to a player's undefined library, and that player owns multiple libraries, that effect's controller chooses any library the effected player owns to apply the effect to upon resolution.
XXX.5b - For continuous effects that refer to a player's undefined library, the effect's controller chooses a library the effected player owns when the effect is created, and the effect will affect that library for its duration.
XXX.6 - If a card would be put into an archive library, that card is put in face up.

{Ardy}
Homeplane: Arcanum
Gender: Trans Male
Age: 17
Bio: Ardy is a young planeswalker with a talent for geomancy. Born on the plane of Arcanum, he still lives there with his mother.
His parents have been seperated for several years now, due to the inherent tension between his father's desire to live a quiet life in the country and his mother's need for the hustle and bustle of the Arpechian Academy. While Ardy stayed with his mother, he still regularly visits his father.
His spark was ignited when he was fourteen, waking one night to the smell of smoke. By the time he realized what was happening and had woken his mother, the fire had trapped them. His sparks ignition whisked him away before the fire could reach him; and while his mother received burns severe enough to cause her to lose her arm (which she has since had a artificial replacement made for), she also managed to escape the fire via more mundane means.
Worried about the dangers the Multiverse could hold for someone so young, Ardy's mother enlisted the help of another planeswalker who worked as a professor at the Arpechian Academy: Rahit. She convinced Ardy not to 'walk without Rahit's oversight, though as he's gotten older, he's been sneaking off on solo 'walks more and more. Meanwhile, his mother and Rahit have been growing closer, and recently Rahit has moved in with them.
Design Philosophy: As a bright and cheerful character, Ardy’s abilities should not be overly aggressive in nature. No burn, no fight, very limited destroy effects (if any). The abilities should also feel loose and full of potential, to reflect Ardy’s creative mindset.
With this particular card, the ult is about as aggressive as I’d be willing to go. Perhaps even too aggressive, but it does a good job of capturing Ardy’s occasional over-the-top showing off.

{Salva Tore}
Homeplane: Festenya
Gender: Nonbinary
Age: 25
Bio: Born in the slums of Stalbrit on Festenya, Salva was a protester against the social structure, especially in how it affected the elves. During a riot, Salva was trapped inside a burning building, igniting their spark.
Now, whenever they return to Festenya, they are caught in the uncomfortable position of being allowed to move amongst the higher echelons of society due to their spark while still being isolated and scorned for their local elvish blood.
Is currently on Arcanum to make use of their vast knowledge on magic as part of their continuining attempts to extend their elvish lifespan to put them on par with Festenya humans, if not more.
Design Philosophy: Since their bio is based upon feeling resentful towards the privilege and power humans have over elves on Festenya, their abilities should focus around the idea of taking from others to bolster themself. Alternatively, punishing others for their greed/affluence.
