Let's try this:  Unity Rules: - Similar to Comp. Rule 702.101a, the teammate of the player casting a split card with Unity has to decide whether to cast the card's other half right as the spell is being cast before putting it on the stack. The teammate has to pay the other half's cost(s). The resulting spell is a united split spell.
- Similar to Comp. Rule 702.101b, a united split spell has the combined characteristics of its two halves.
- Similar to Comp. Rule 702.101c, the total cost of a unitsed split spell includes the mana cost of each half
- Compared to Comp. Rule 702.101d, as a united split spell resolves, the player that casted the left half of the spell follows the instructions of the left half and then their teammater follows the instructions of the right half.

Judging is up! oddnanref So it's either a +1/+1 or +2/+2 anthem on attacking in 2HG? Seems pretty strong, but compared to Adriana, Captain of the Guard it seems balanced. The ability feels a little disingenuous because it reads like it scales better than it really does. @gorgonzola This isn't uncommon. This might even be too powerful at higher rarities, seeing as Rise From the Grave exists. For your team, this is usually going to be a 2 or 3 for one, because you can use it as a combat trick as well as just bringing back 2+ creatures. Love the flavor, though. Flo00 Simple, maybe on the edge of boring, and also very powerful. Your team is going be drawing 4 cards for 3 mana, and while your opponents do get to sculpt their hands, I think that the drawback isn't enough in truly team-based formats. Probably good in Commander, though. @daij_Djan So, if it's united, everyone except the player who cast Healthy is down a creature? Neat and kinda flavorful. I think there's a pretty large power imbalance between the sides though; lots of black decks are going to want Diseased even without having a green partner for Healthy. Fleur So, assist crossed with spellshapers? I like it. Simple demonstration of a complex mechanic, which takes a few seconds to get but I'm a sucker for. A little on the fence about the fact that this lets players have access to abilities that would be out of color for their deck, but someone on the team has to have that color so there has to be at least some adherence to colors. I'm going to give this one to Fleur ! Congratulations! |

Glad you like it  You're right about the imbalance, though. I wanted to use a simple common to showcase the mechanic (because I do wonder whether it might be worth playing with it a bit more in the future) - but the card probably would have been a better fit at uncommon, changing Healthy's cost to  (or similar) and make it create X tokens instead..

CasstastropheWell, that is true. If it is pretty balanced for an uncommon that is fine. This is like an inverted Adriana where it scales better the more teammates you have. It is nice to finally have something that is designed balanced although...disingenuous? Now that I think about it, how is the power level on a game like Archenemy?

Lily has exams, so quick judging: @miku -- Seeker of Origin: Nice one-mana 1/2 with upside. Fits at common, too - well done! oddnanref -- Unknown Mechanism: Neat! My main issue with this is it mentions a threshold without doing anything to contribute to it, which might confuse new players. Other than that this looks cool as a way to help not screw your deck up too much with severed lands, though it'd be better with a lower threshold (e.g: 2-3 or more severed lands) Flo00 -- Kaseto's Call: That's a nice aura. Not sure if it's too efficient at ending games with the unblockable, so maybe I'd just bring the stat bonuses down or the mana cost up by ? Akai Ryu -- Orzhov Official: A few problems -- one, you need to phrase the cast differently I think. "Exile this, then you may cast it transformed without paying its mana cost.", since you can't have an instant/sorcery on the field. The other problem is that there's nothing white about this -- this could easily be monoblack. Overall a bit of a miss, especially because unconditional tutor ain't usually common. Winner is @miku, with oddnanref as runner-up. Excuse the delay |

OMG I am a runner up. So pumped. FleurI have to agree. First draft severed lands to produce mana, but after much thinking the effect it had was tricky to balance. So I ended with this. Maybe there was another way to balance the card with a different effect. Noted on the lower threshold. The comments help because I was debating whether to include it on the set or not. Thanks. |

Common are a weak spot for me at least in designing for a set.
Design a common or uncommon that cares about enchantments. The more creative the more poins. Good Luck.

I guess I'll use an entry from this contest considering it was brought to my attention the card sadly doesn't really fit the given challenge there..
Time to do something weird..  One of the biggest problems with splicing onto permanents is memory issues, but I think an ETB trigger solves this (considering it even disappears if you were to blink an enchantment you spliced this spell onto). Also for the record: The card referring to itself isn't an issue. |
