Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! The old year dies, and from its ashes, the new year is reborn. Make either a creature that gives you some kind of benefit when it dies, or a card you can cast from your graveyard without having flashback or retrace.Note: As this challenge has some overlap with CotW#242, please don't reuse your old entries from that contest. ~Daij_Djan

It's slower than Fool's Demise and more expensive than Journey to Eternity, so that's how I decided on the cost and rarity. Edit: Had artist's name copied and just forgot to paste it. Whoops XD |

Jartis Challenge specifies "creature that helps when it dies" or a "card you can cast from graveyard without flashback or retrace". Yours is an enchantment that cannot be cast from the graveyard, and is not a creature.

I'm out, then. actually on second thought this one was too pedantic. in hindsight I really should've just made the contest conditions narrower but I was afraid I wouldn't have something on time so I put in something without thinking about it too much. your entry does very technically do what I asked so it's valid again. I apologize for the bother |

A love letter to Burning Vengeance. As well as triggering off flashback, retrace, and all that jazz, this will catch rebound and, perhaps more relevantly, red temporary draw a la Act on Impulse. |

Hello, I'm new to the forum although I follow it since quite long time. I want to try the contest with my entry Of course the idea isn't new at all. Hope I have done everything ok! Fairly classic concept for fun graveyard stuff. However, I believe you may want to look up similar cards with persistent counters, because I think the wording is different. Failing that, you could make it based on counters the player gets. But that's less ideal, since it's considered harder to track. |

mrlozano The loot effect doesn’t feel green. The hybrid means it can be put in monogreen or any other color combo with green. I’d argue it doesn’t fit green.

Put that card onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order. 2/2 Careful who you cross at the party, you never know who hides behind the mask. |

In order to avoid confusion, it'd prolly be best if you changed this to "seven or more other cards". What happens when there are exactly seven cards in your 'yard, including this one? Once you cast this, it's no longer in your graveyard, so you've lost threshold, which means that you can't cast it from your gy, but then how did you cast it...etc. You see what I mean? |

But then it wouldn't be Threshold anymore, strictly speaking. Also, there's no need for confusion. Once you've cast the card from your graveyard, losing Threshold doesn't matter.
