I tap my transceiver while mouthing the words to myself.  Imaging, Map.  I hold my arm off to the side as the logic energy in my transceiver generates a sketch of the map Arina sent us a couple of weeks ago into the air above it.  I point at her home.  "I'll be here with Miss Nisita for the time being.  The rest of my team is in Entela while we await a finished aether tunneler, then we'll be using that location as our research station."

So like, the -6 does gain many life but I'm pretty sure no one gets to draw cards off the copy because no one paid mana to cast the copy XD Rest of the card seems great though, 9/10

As Rian finally reaches the center of Celroen, he's beset by visions. Him dying in Allen's arms. Allen dying in his. Himself as a statue, Allen weeping at his stony feet. Petals of shining obsidian, with edges that slice though flesh and bone. And then, suddenly, a great beast descends, like a dragon with too many tentacles. He can feel the core of the Demesne, the source of this madness, just before him—and far below him, the rift back to safety. If the fall doesn't kill him. He can feel his mind breaking, the idea of obsidian flowers cutting through memory and identity...

(Sorry for the delay, I was very busy.)

Rixos fills the paperwork. He writes down that the hat bought a scroll to temporary prevent planeswalking and a liquid that coated in silver any weapon. "Pass the information to Reysha and the girl, please." Rixos smiles as he hands the information to the diplomat, but his smile quickly fades as she (she?) starts talking about his bussines. He stays silent and represses the fury in his veins. He takes the money, and decides to leave, but he turns back. "You know, I'm not a Multiversal corporation that can keep track of everyone who has evil intentions. I might make mistakes, but most of the time I have no way to be aware of them. Anyways, I don't want problems with you but my business is mine and you have no rights to tell me who should I commerce with or with who I shouldn't."

Aiea, Scheming Diplomat: This is a very good desing, a monoblue walker different of how monoblue walkers tend to be, more mindrange that control (well, the second ability and the ultimate are controlly, but you get the point, I hope). 9/10

cajun — Karina, the Trainee: Human no-class? Nice. And that seems like it ought to command a superfriends/voltron deck nicely, if such a thing were to exist. Which it probably doesn't. 9/10

"One of the other trainees is a spear expert—you remember Teagan? I'll schedule for you to practice with them, and we can get you some more formal training when you visit Tena. As for how to planeswalk... you say you've never planeswalked? But our records note your spark ignited while you were here on the Arena. Do you remember that moment?"

@cyanogynist — Magus of the Showdown: I'm a sucker for a good Magus, and this qualifies. The name's satisfying and the effect well balanced. 10/10

The Demesne begins to crumble around Rian, sending him tumbling away from the withering dragon-beast. The world splinters around him, shards of not-stone flying everywhere except in his path. He ceases to consider the possibility that flowers might be composed of obsidian, though flowers of blood drift in his wake. He tumbles to a halt, then is launched though the rift back to the Arena as the Demesne collapses into it. As he rolls to a halt against Aylin's tent, covered in blood and petals, he feels a sudden sense of satisfaction—the satisfaction of a master examining the results of their craft.

Celroen/Yaara is... dead?

Teagan, the Lancer - wew that + seems nasty. Other two abilities seem fine but a smidge worried about the abyss-iness of the + 8/10

I winced, remembering the hat pulling Kirino's soul into mine. "That was a lie from the hat. The spark was given to me by another planeswalker before they died."

Hana recalls the date on the file. "... I'm sorry for prying into such a personal matter, but would that planeswalker be Kirino Oblay?"

I looked at the floor. No more lies. "Yes. She tried to get me free from the hat before. That was the night I finally did."

"Ah. I see. That... is a potential future problem, not a present one, though I'll have to let Dr. Arueth know—he may want to discuss it in one of your meetings. Now, we do have experience teaching confused planeswalkers about their sparks, though you're already better informed than most people in that position. The safest, albeit slowest, way uses what we call augmented reality—like an illusion, but technological rather than magical; you perceive a situation that's not actually happening. I have the proper equipment here, though I'll need some time to get it ready. Would your prior experiences with illusions make that a problem for you, or is that suitable?"

"I can handle illusions. Just as long as the equipment doesn't have like a helmet or anything?"

"Ah, that would be a problem, wouldn't it. It's more like a visor or goggles."

"That should be fine then. When can I start that?" Hannah would have to leave soon. Would I learn in time?

"Potentially as soon as tomorrow morning; but I can't promise a specific time at the moment. Now, there are a few other matters we should discuss. Dr. Arueth tells me he requested a report from you. How's your progress on that?"

"I worked on it all day yesterday, but didn't finish. I'll be working on it again when we finish here."

"I'm glad to hear you're applying yourself, then. There's no point in making mistakes if you don't learn anything from them. On that note... I hope what you've experienced and what you've read so far has taught you something about the importance of good communication?"

"Yes... I don't want to think about what would have happened to Reyhsia if Hannah didn't know to save me." My eyes started tear up. "If I had said something that first day, everything would have been fine. I'm sorry... I was just so scared I'd get sent back and lose everyone again. I didn't want to hurt anyone."

"You're part of an organization that exists because three planeswalkers realized that preemptively solving the multiverse's problems was better for everyone than the usual planeswalker's approach of running from fire to fire, desperately trying to find solutions after the fact. We can only do that if we know about the problems in advance. That's a big part of the Division of Exploration's role. But someone knowing about the problem in advance doesn't matter unless that person tells the people who can act." Hana rests one metal hand on Karina's shoulder. "You didn't know what could happen. Now you do. You'll do better next time you get put in this kind of situation. And Reyhsia and I both survived killing each other, so everything worked out in the end. Okay?"

"Okay," I sniffed a little. "I do want to help. I don't want anyone else to go through what I have."

"Good. Finish your report and let Dr. Arueth know when you're done. If we're satisfied with it, we'll have more varied things for you to do. I'll get the augmented reality equipment programmed in the meantime. I expect you up and in the sparring room at 0630 tomorrow—Teagan will meet you there. Is there anything else you wanted to ask me, or was that all?"

"Um, yes, actually. I passed along a report about a 'dangerous looking' rip in the sky near the Nisita residence yesterday. Last night, a similar one appeared near my room. After both of these, Hannah Delcarlo-Nisita had a nightmare, during the latter of which she accidentally attacked me. I told Doctor Arueth this morning, but would like to make sure you know about them. Do you know if there have been any others?"

"No... but one of the other trainees didn't come in last night, and there could be a connection. Have you seen Varrs recently?"

"No?" I said with a touch of worry.

"I've got a bad feeling about this. I'm going to let everyone know to keep an eye out for him, and put together a group to investigate. I assume the report from Dr. Arueth that's waiting for me details the rips—is there anything else you know about them besides what you told him?"

"I know it sounds a bit strange, but Hanska Myemii's cat seems to know something. It showed up after it happened and told us about the second rip." I bit my lip. "I don't think he's the cause but we should maybe talk to Hanska."

"I owe her a favor anyway. Aiea and I will stop by later tonight or tomorrow morning." She pauses for a moment. "What, you expected me to be surprised that the cat talked? I've seen weirder. I've built weirder."

I gave a small laugh. "I guess I just forget how weird things can be sometimes."

The meeting had gone better than I could have hoped. Might as well try... "I have one last question. My friend will be leaving the Arena soon, and I'd like to be able to visit her, when I am free of course, but she lives in Entela. I know we have all kinds of rules with the LIEU but I don't know the details. Would I even be allowed to go?"

"That's a tricky one—we're negotiating some new rules with the Entelan government right now, actually, so it'll depend on how that goes. But... at the moment, at least, you're not officially one of our agents, just an intern. You going there wouldn't be against the rules we've currently agreed on with Linela, as long as you're not doing any Initiative business there. You'd have to be very careful while you were there not to do anything that might get the Linelans angry at you, certainly—we can talk over what that would cover later—because we'd be very limited in what we could do to help you."

"Oh, actually, hm. I'm not entirely sure you could get there safely from here—the Arena behaves very strangely as far as planes go. Let's talk about it again once we've finished our negotiations with Master Sara—that's the Entelan leader—and once you've learned to planeswalk so you can get back quickly in a pinch?"

"Of course." I said. "It's part of why I want to learn how as soon as I can."

"Which is why you asked those questions in the order you did, I'm sure. Get back to work, and we'll talk again soon."

With just a swift nod and no other words spoken, except an "Apologies." to Teagan, Chrysoplei left.

Reyhsia, Dazed and Confused - Definitely interesting. I quite like it. 9/10

Mei reforms and charges into the gap, Sevid chasing after her. Pidge takes a step towards it, then hesitates and turns to Reyhsia.

"Strike team, go, I guess." Reyhsia grumbled. It was too early for this. She draws Aukashi and follows in after Pidge.

Within the demesne, they find themselves surrounded by a landscape half dream, half memory. The trees of Lys Alana tower around them, the woods growing silent as elvish hunters appear in the branches, bows raised. Suddenly, there is a distant echo of rushing water, growing quickly closer, then rushing around Mei, Sevid, Reyhsia, and Pidge as the woodland floods. The Drowning of Lorywn begins.

Calling for aid for Displacement Wave (X=3) and Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen! If you want to continue towards the demesne's heart, find a way past Dwynen that the Wave won't bounce. Alternatively, the rift back is still above water... for now.

cajun — Kindred Spirit: Seems like a card I'd have expected to see in Lorwyn, yep. I'm going back and forth on whether this could cost 6 or needs to cost 8, so I'm guessing it's about right. 9/10

The pack drop ropes to climb, then lead their new allies towards the center of Lys Alana. "The Director will want to see you," Dwynen notes, and the landscape shifts around them until Lys Alana becomes the Seventh Circle's headquarters on Tena. The door swings open on Dwynen's approach, and she gestures for them to enter. Inside, behind the director's desk, wearing her signature wide-brimmed hat is... Reyhsia?

"Hello, me. Like what I've done with the place? I've cut back on all the trifles and distractions so we can focus on what really matters—Rhak. Our little protege's explorations have been quite helpful on that regard, actually, but you wouldn't believe how much I had to put in her head to get her to be willing to work with us. For a while I thought we might have to see if there were any more such delightful creatures where it's from." She punctuates the last statement with a gesture in the direction of Mei.

Same deal as before. If you want to get to the bottom of this, deal with the hat.

cajun — Mei, the Saboteur: Feels very Rail War. I especially like how both she and Reyhsia are nonblack here. 10/10.
Reyhsia Enraged: This is perhaps concerningly pushed, but I think the deckbuilding restriction makes it acceptable. 10/10.

Okus smiles with Reyhsia's face as she turns to face the charge. "Sevid, quake on my position."
Sevid's voice crackles from somewhere, distorted with static. "Reyhs, you're surrounded by friendlies."
"Trust me."

The ground begins to shake as Lys Alana... Tena... Magresi is flooded for the second time—this time with molten rock. Amidst the chaos, they can feel the presence of the demesne's core, the source of this vileness. It's here in the smoldering office. Somewhere.

(Sequencing here, in theory, is Okus dies to attack triggers -> Magresi loses control of Dwynen again -> flash in the Heart -> Magmaquake kills Mei, Reyhsia, and Dwynen, leaving the Heart at 1 loyalty -> Mei and Reyhsia return under Magresi's control, and take out Pidge and Sevid with ETB triggers. I assume you'll stop this plan before Magresi finishes executing it. I would highly recommend you do so and permanently destroy the Heart—you can just leave instead, but there will be lasting unfortunate consequences if you do.)

cajun — TAG seems fairly costed and cute, if a touch confusing. I had to read it three times to verify that it actually worked as intended. 9/10

Pidge's gambit works flawlessly. The magma pours from the PORTAL, and the world begins to collapse. Fragments of planes flicker in and out of existence: Tirvana, Shadowmoor, Pguqium, Lorwyn, Pyrulea, Tena, Feraguo, Usona, Medranos, and hundreds more. As the demesne collapses, the twisting of space launches the four explorers out through the rift, landing in a heap back on the Arena. As they hit the ground, they feel a sudden sense of satisfaction, as if watching carefully orchestrated plans come to fruition.

Aroa Who Could Have Been

Magresi/Aroa is... dead?

Designation Unknown: interesting name... Regarding the card, I applaud the ingenuity behind its abilities, I enjoy them working as pseudo-ultimates. (Also I enjoy how people treat everything that comes from Aylin as an attack, I was actually going for "Let's work on finding this guy together" XD). 10/10.

"Sevid Fese? Yeah, she's practically right next door. Operations said they'd handled her, and we're fairly busy dealing with the holes in reality that emit nightmares, but if you're paying her a visit we'll send someone along."
"Well, Operantions did a lousy job then, she unleashed an attenuated version of Malextros against me! You know, for guys who try to keep things under control a lot of things happen right under your noses..." she says acidly "Don't worry, I'm going after her and doing your job for you, pro bono!" she adds, feigning humility "You deal with these 'nightmare holes', whatever the hell that means..."
