First of all, it's been a pleasure to have this beautiful BBvengers: Age of Kirino arc, and I really appreciate you being such a sport and managing these six-attacks-per-round volley! Reputation for Honesty looks fine. Having a self-mill engine for free is powerful, but giving your opponents information on your hand seems like a fair compensation (especially since in the decks you want to play this your hand probably matters little and your graveyard is already public knowledge XD). 9/10. As Aylin insists on being a part of the final strike, something changes. Something feels odd, but what? Then she realizes. The Gem of Allure on the ring in her right hand has stopped shining. Ever since Kirino's true form was revealed, it had shone with a bright green light to a degree where she actually felt it burn her finger, but having to stay on edge every single second, she had locked it away in a corner of her mind. But now the stimulus had stopped, there was only one explanation... "No!" she says "This can't be it!" But it is, Kirino is dead, and she had nothing to do in the matter... As she falls to her knees in defeat, an all-too-familiar voice rings inside her head."I'll be dead by the time you get hear this, but my Spark will still be there. At least, most of it. If you want to do something... go over there and take it (or, at least, what's left). Otherwise, it will move on to some other young woman elsewhere, and I'll be back. There's a risk - if you aren't strong enough, my memories will overwhelm you. But I think you can deal with it."Even in death, Kirino is trying to mock Aylin. She's definitely not accepting the "gift", who knows what kinds of torture she'll be submitted to if she willingly takes Kirino into her mind..."After all, little kitten, you've gotten good at not taking my bait."Yes, she'll let someone else deal with the burden. When she thinks she's finally free of Kirino, the empath strikes back with a fatal coup-de-grace."Goodbye, Aylin. Please remember that loneliness isn't strength."Kirino is right. Loneliness isn't strength. But right now, loneliness is all Aylin has...After a few seconds of letting everything sink in, Aylin makes a mental recap.Fact, Kirino is dead. Fact, I could've had something to do with it. Fact, I didn't she begins Fact, I was the one who killed her mortal body. Fact, I was the one that gathered the people that ultimately brought her down. Fact, I did help in killing Kirino... She desperately tries to convince herself of this and, for the time being, it's what she tells herself until she believes it or else she will go insane. After all, this is not the first time she's done something like this...But there is one thing left to do. She needs closure and she has a vague idea on how to obtain it, but for some reason she can't exactly make up her mind. What exactly was Kirino to her? A friend? No, she only had one friend, and even if things would'nt have taken this turn, Kirino and her would probably not have ended up as friends. Was she a mortal enemy? True, she had killed her, but for some reason she couldn't see her as an enemy. After all, Kirino had given her the one thing she always looked for: a challenge. True, she'd overstepped boundaries, she'd threatened to bring the pain back, but at the end of the day this had led to probably the most challenging fun she'd had in her entire stay at the Arena. When push came to shove, this entire experience had been anything but boring... She now knows exactly what to do, all she needs is the objective truth. She raises a slate of stone on the place where her attack killed Kirino's vessel, giving it an unmistakeable shape: a tombstone. After setting some charms that will prevent it from being broken by brute force and being eroded by the elements, she carves three sentences on it:
Here lies Kirino Oblay She's the most formidable walker I've ever met But we managed to kill her

CARD: Neat way to beat counterspells, especially for a madness deck. Wonder if this could just be ? 8.5/10. "Dead, I see." There's a hint of sadness to the sheriff's voice, but just a hint. "I guess that's one off the list." The tablet with Kirino's information fades into thin air, hurtling a thousand miles per hour into another list, a list of criminals that have been brought to justice. From behind him, Emil's voice echoes through the calm. "Sheriff?" "Yes, Emil?" "I've never actually heard you sad before. Remorse from a criminal? In you?" "Sometimes, the circumstances are sad. And plus, I did learn quite a bit from her. Under the veneer of legal good and evil, there's a lot more to things." Emil nods. "So how do you do it? How do people make laws to account for that?" "Emil, the law can be shortsighted. Some would say blind, even. But..." he trails off for a moment. "I guess when we aren't doing our jobs - when we aren't trying doing our duties - we can look at things from a different angle. We can, for a moment, look at people in a different light. Does that make sense?" The air still smells of ash. A moment of silence. "Yes, yes it does," he says at last. Lumen leaves a book on her tombstone. An Agathian book about laws that Kirino once gave him. This one's about the same, but it's a revised edition with numerous addenda including context on other planes that had monarchies. There are sections about Fiora, about Reldhym and even sections about lawless planes, such as Muetar. There are even arguments for anarchism written by planar philosophers. "If there's one thing we shared, it was a love for books. And of learning." The book turns in the wind eerily, and they leave.

I gasp as the spark wrenches itself free. It takes some blood with it, but thanks to Finnegan, I've got enough to spare. "Rachkta." I brought the spell back. The blinding mass was shrinking away. "You did it Nisita," I said between coughs. "Never doubted you for a second." The spark continued to shrink away and I dispelled bloodsight. Only then could I see the tiny figure obscured behind the great spark, moving towards the point where it had been converging.
"K...Karina?"
--- When I die, you'd just need to reach out and take it. Please.
What? No!
Ah, Kirino.
Always did care for the little one too much for her own good.
We reached out for the spark, freely given. It did not matter if Kirino was lying. We could contain it, like we had dozens of unruly hosts before. This child and dead woman would be no different. As the spark transferred from the withering soul to the child's, we felt a sense of power we had not felt in ages.
"Thank you, Kirino," she said to the dead woman. "I'll make sure it doesn't go to waste."
Karina has unlocked Red Mastery.
The Life of Kirino Oblay is perhaps as interesting as the story it tells. I suspect it's doing way more than it should be at four mana though. have a 8/10, for whatever valor is worth in the afterlife for things that never existed

Lady Mapi — Switch Happentrack: I'm going to have to compare this to Wipe Away and say that, despite the slightly increased hoops necessary to make it work, the increased power is a bit too much. Still, the design is good—at 3U I'd be perfectly fine with it. 8/10Lance looks around the battlefield, checking on his strike team and his allies. The assassin—barely conscious, what Trainee Enfys' flickering messages describe as 'overchanneled,' but intact. The geomancer—physically albeit not emotionally fine. The lawman—unharmed. The mermaid—cleanly escaped. The soldier—standing strong. The child—wait, why was there a child here? Still, she looked unharmed and decisively not his problem. As for his allies—the grenadier had been thrown into the future, but he'd be perfectly fine when he returned in—an hour, his displays informed him. The artillerist was unharmed, the fight having ended before his weapons were even ready. He glanced around, wondering why he'd brought an understrength strike team, then remembered Reyhsia's presence. Of course, the contractor; she was already on site, but her presence made a full squad. She had a serious chest wound, but between her magic and Finnegan's remaining shield, she'd survive long enough to get back to HQ. "Agent Reyhsia, Agent Zho, our work here is complete. Evac immediately back to headquarters." Leaving behind a small message for Finnegan explaining the situation, Lance joined them, planeswalking away from the Arena.

First off, thanks to everyone for indulging in that story arc - it was a lot of fun, and I feel like I pushed some more personal plotlines forwards (which is pretty good). Anyway, it's time to REINCARNATE!{Here Lies Kirino !Na Oblay} Kirino Oblay ()Image created by Sandra Duchiewicz

Lovely. That explained what happened to "Ms. Oblay", alright. It looked like rumors of the Arena being a savage place were all too true - there probably weren't going to be that many people interested in love filtres or protective talismans. A soldier approaches the cottage, never having noticed it before. Weird. As he glances at the tombstone, he wonders if this was Kirino's. He carries a spear, using it as a walking stick, and has no helmet on, his hair messy anyway. He proceeded to knock on the cottage door, seeing if anyone was in. He would enter the cottage if there was no response, mostly out of curiosity, but his habit got the best of him. Arina had not expected to return so soon since her engagement against Kirino. However, when the promise arrived of a new face, and potentially a new person to study or befriend, Arina decided she had to continue to work on the project that brought her here in the first place.
The gravestone hit her like the rock that it was. It was placed on a hill, surrounded by offerings of others that stood here before, wishing the deceased onto a better afterlife. Arina had never understood the concept, not until now. By the time she was old enough to have items to leave like this, the dread of death had already been forgotten, and there was none who she would care about dying. It had words engraved on its surface:
Here lies Kirino Oblay
She's the most formidable walker I've ever met
But we managed to kill her
"We," Arina mused aloud. The tombstone taunted Arina, serving as a reminder of what happened that day. Of what Arina, and not anyone else, had done to Kirino. As though Arina needed yet another reminder of her potential and her history. Arina drew her dagger, the same one she had slain Kirino with on that day. After a few more seconds of contemplation, Arina tossed it into the air and magically forced it into the ground in front of the gravestone.
"Alura rysia, Kirino." Arina said. "May the Spirits watch you in your rest."
Now for why Arina was here. There was a newcomer here, and Arina had to talk to them. Arina carefully considered the words she would say as she located the newcomer. Eventually, she decided her sentence was correct and made a greeting."Greetings, traveler," Arina said. "My name is Arina, and I hope to study the lives and histories of people in the Arena. This is a strange place that you have chosen to reside in."Solemn Visit Sorcery Any number of target players each scry 2, draw two cards, then lose 2 life.

Lifelink 3/3 Recursive Concerns is a bit of a weird card - I wouldn't want to run it in either a straight mill deck (it's a bit too expensive) or in self-mill. It works as a bit of disruption, I guess? I could see it being fair at for the initial casting. 7/10Aiden nodded, looking down at the cat. God damn adorable he thought, as he leaned down to pet it. Made him regret not owning a pet before -- Maybe someday. "Yeah, she did die recently. I didn't kill her but it was a whole thing, and..." he stopped. "You know what, it's not important. I don't understand it myself. And it's a pleasure to meet you Hanska. I bet your tea is delicious if you're an apoth, too, I'd love some." he said, following her inside. "So, what brings you here? If you know. There's a handful of people who don't know how they're here." he neglects to mention it's basically just him at this point. His spear-tip started to glow a pale orange, but softly, and began to rattle slightly in his grip. He seemed to pay it no mind.Caged Phantom Creature - Spirit Flying, vigilance ~ can't attack or block unless a creature entered the battlefield this turn. Unlike most prisoners, it likes to strike when someone's watching.3/1 Nervous Acolyte: Good stuff, though I question if it should gain you 1 life instead of 2. 9/10. I stared a bit at the glowing spear, then thought better of asking. For all I knew, that was normal in these parts. I moved to serve him some tea."How do you take your tea? I have some milk and honey if you like it a little sweeter. As for me... I'm new to the whole 'planeswalker' thing - I came here because I heard that this is somewhere with a lot of us, and I kinda want someone to teach me the ropes.Like how not to get burned at the stake. That was a fun first trip..."---
Hanska absently rubs at one of her wrists - you can see some scarring.Ashfur Kitten - Creature - Cat Lifelink When Ashfur Kitten enters the battlefield, you may return another target creature you control to its owner's hand. 1/2 Caged Phantom is a pretty beefy critter. It definitely falls on the more aggressive side, but that drawback is pretty hefty (especially since it kinda nerfs vigilance a bit), to the point where I'm kinda thinking it should be pushed a little more. I could see it being pretty sweet in a deck with a ton of creatures with flash, though. 8/10 (it was going to be an 8.5, but you mentioned that you wanted people to round down...)[/i]

Sorcery Target creature doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. If that creature has power 3 or less, tap it. Draw a card. "Oh, right, I was going to ask if there's anywhere on the plane where I could practice my craft? I feel all antsy if I don't have patients to tend... to..."
I paused, noticing the look on Arina's face. Shit, did I do it again? I sipped my tea - shit, it was cold. I had done it again.
"Sorry about that. I have these episodes. Did I say anything... strange?"
---
Hanska is in the middle of answering your question when she suddenly stops and blinks. She continues in a smooth, confident tone greatly at odds with her normal nervous squeak.
"Your daughter is suffering from acute aether deficiency, caused by being cut off from the natural energy flows of your home plane. If your elemental requirements fell under a different category, my venom could directly act as a suitable local substitute - as it stands, you can slow down her decay by placing her near a significant source of running water and hanging fresh sprigs of middenwort in her room. If you give me time, I can form a tincture of three parts of your blood to one part of my ichor - a few drops of the realigned mixture daily should be enough to sustain her comfortably while waiting for a more permanent solution to be set up..."Hanska's tongue flicks out in time with Ylki's. You notice that she seems to have cut herself on a knife left on the table - her blood starts out clear and then starts shading towards a deep, dark blue as you watch. She continues on this way for a few minutes before coming to a stop. She then continues with her original sentence as if nothing had happened.Worldblood Dryad - Creature - Dryad Shaman When Worldblood Dryad enters the battlefield, choose a land you control. Untap Worldblood Dryad and that land during each end step. 2/2 Exhaustive Research is pretty cool, and feels pretty fair - I don't have any major complaints there. A 9/10.

"You seem to know a fair bit about aether exhaustion." Why could I have not met this woman before that demon came to talk to me.
"Unfortunately, I do have to say that I have a solution prepared now that I am aware of her illness." Aylin's life is at risk, as a result of my actions.
I shake my head. These thoughts are my problem, not hers. "I am quite familiar with aether exhaustion, after all, as I should be after so many years of studying bioaetherics. My daughter has access to aether canisters that can be used for her to recover her internal energy." Arina pauses. "If she allows herself to rest more, that is. However, if another situation comes up I will happily direct others to you."
Worldblood Dryad has a minor wording error, since it should have an end of turn trigger. Otherwise, the card might be a little less powerful than it can be? It could probably afford to have another point of power or something, since a 2/2 vigilance isn't super exciting and untapping a land on each end step isn't super helpful for green most of the time. 8/10

Aiden listened to her story intently, knowing the value of being able to get things off your chest. He, uh, didn't really see what any of that had to do with the scars - and who was Ylki? - and then his eyes widened at the mention of tying her to a stake and lighting her on fire. "Ylki, stop frightening our guest and let me introduce you next time. Aiden, this is Ylki, soul of my soul and the reason I was almost burned alive. Not that I blame him, or them for that matter - palescute venom is more toxic than pretty much anything. If he were a lesser snake, I would have been able to live outside the village. But that's not what happened."
I smiled faintly.
"The last time anyone bonded with a palescute, to my knowledge, he used that power to become a powerful witch-king. The final battle between him and the heroes who slew him left the land around his tower utterly dead. Nothing grows there anymore. Nothing ever will."
I belatedly realized that maybe that wasn't the best story to share.
"Of course, palescute venom can also cure anything if you know what you're doing. And healing is what I'm interested in. That's why Ylki came to me - as a gift from the goodly spirits."

dundundun a gift. probably. Oh dear - hopefully history won't repeat itself. (Assuming she gave her full name...) I blushed something terrible.
"Then I guess I'm living in your house. I moved in because people told me no one was living there anymore... I'm sorry about your mother."
Then a miracle happened - Ylki actually whispered to me instead of forcing a channel. Without really knowing why, I reached into my cloak, pulled out a small container of ointment, and handed it to Karina.
"I know it might not seem like much, but my friend smelled some scars on you. I won't pry, but I want you to have this - it smells kind of awful, but it will help the skin heal up nice and healthy. It helps with hair too, but I can't imagine that you'd need it for that."
At that moment, Ylki decided to sleepily poke his head out of my hood.
"Where are my manners? Karina, this is Ylki, my familiar. He looks scary but he's just a big old softy. If you don't mind me prying... I didn't think people could start planeswalking at your age. As far as I've been able to tell, it takes some real tra-"

Whenever damage is prevented this way, put a +1/+1 counter on Acolyte of Ointment and you gain 1 life. 0/2 Karina Oblay is an Oblay, so that's an immediate 20/10 looks like a nice combo-walker. I'm iffy on her costing two mana, but I guess it's appropriate. Theoretically you could use her to double up on an ultimate or whatever, but it's not like she helps you get there any more quickly. Still, that effectively caps her at 8/10, which is what she gets.
