pacifistwestwoman Nicholai carefully pours a half-vial of blood into a bowl, slowly adding other components as he goes - a pinch of cinnamon, a withered rose, the fur of a well-loved dog - and watches as the half-devil blood reacts, it swirls and stays a little more viscous, before igniting in the wooden bowl. Nicholai watches it intently, staring at the burning flame, as the flame dances from trademark orange, to a deep red, to a fiendish purple. He grins at it, then tilts the bowl back, drinking deeply, the flames sliding down his throat. He swallows hard. "Can never get used to cinnamon..." he says, shaking his head. Wonderful.Nicholai has unlocked Spectacle!Congratulations, half-devil. You are now a part of me.

Neottolemo The Worst Is Yet To Come: Fact or Fiction that requires a team's agreement. Super neat card, and I believe if they tie you get both piles so it usually requires total cooperation. Excellent Archenemy card. 10/10. Also, whaddya know, you can exile heroes! Learn something new everyday. You call yourselves "heroes" and barely show yourselves? Pathetic. Insolent fools. Dok of the Council Legendary Planeswalker - Dok While voting, you may vote an additional time. : Draw a card and gain 1 life. : Each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life for each life lost this way. : Starting with you, each player votes for extortion or filibuster. Each player who votes extortion loses half their life, rounded up, and you gain life equal to the amount of life lost this way. For each filibuster vote, take an extra turn after this one. {Static, +1, 0, -6, 2} Not super sure of the logistics of the -6 not super cooperating with the static. But, I don't play this game for points anymore. They cooperate well enough, the static basically get you two extra turns by default when you -6. I like this. Second ability might afford to be a +1 as well, though I'm uncertain about that. The ult is scary but the low starting loyalty and density seem to balance it. Flavour's nice. 9/10

The veil of light wavers and cracks, and the woman within drops to the ground, putting out a hand to stabilize her fall. She shoots a glance at Nicholai, and, even though he can't make out her features clearly from this distance, the irritation is very obvious. Then she makes an odd, dancing gesture with one hand, and the shell reforms, twice as bright as before - and carrying her twice as quickly away from Nicholai's stand. On Break Tranquility: A potent removal spell. Wording should refer to converted mana cost, but that's a minor quibble; I can see this swinging a lot of games in draft, and linebreaker cards like that are often very useful in moderation. 8/10.

Popcornia Keva Wayfinder: Sure. 8/10. The wizard is polishing his staff, the large blue crystal on top shining. He eyes the centaur warily, all the while still cleaning. "Hello there! I'm sure I've got just the thing for you!"Instill Fear Sorcery Spectacle (You may cast this spell for its spectacle cost rather than its mana cost if an opponent lost life this turn.)Put two -1/-1 counters on target creature. Popcornia Rampaging Decoy: This effect is historically ( Spellskite being the major one) but I think this is a fine bend for ( Bolt Bend), and a pretty hefty bend, leaning towards break for though. On mobile but, just realized I did a dumb and this effect is more in red than I remembered and pretty green. Still, green stuff is still more “can’t be countered” and such, but still. 7.5/10.The wizard just smirked. His eyes turned a brilliant white, and he lifted his hands up. From them, orange chains of energy appeared, shooting towards each thief, the chains wrapping around their bodies. They'd notice that the chains also had small spikes - not enough for significant damage, but they would certainly bleed .Ethereal Chains Enchantment Flash When ~ enters the battlefield, prevent all combat damage that would be dealt by creatures this turn, then tap all attacking creatures. World Step Instant Exile target creature, then return it to the battlefield under its owner's control. Draw a card. To walk the Wolrdbarriers, even just a step, is a daunting task.
A rift appeared in the air, a black-cloaked man stumbling out of it. As it closed behind him, he shook his head and dusted himself off. "That went better than expected. Where am --" Then he paused and saw the man before him. Drawing a dual-headed scythe, he raised a hand in suspicious greeting. "Hail, stranger! Who goes there?"

@jamesbrafin World Step: Displace but replace a creature bounce with a draw. Seems alright, not super sure how it feels flickering opponent's creatures too, but probably fine. 8/10. Nicholai turned from rearranging his jewelry on his stall and cleaning off the counter, facing the man from a rift. An easy target! "Ah, hello! And welcome. Trinket Replenishment: I absolutely love this. The only thing is the activation might be a little cheap, but that's made up for by not doing creatures. 10/10 Merrith looked at the man , a low chuckle forming in his throat. "This thing? It's saved my life more times than I can count. Created by my own hands, too. But If you have the things I need, I might be buying. I have trinkets of my own to trade with." The blade stays drawn as he approaches, but the man seems slightly more at ease. "Do you have anything from The Betweens, by any chance? Something fused with its power could be very useful to me." "...I grow weary of this plane. Business has been dead, and overall, it's been a major loss." Nicholai mumbles to himself, packing up his stall. "It's probably best to set up shop somewhere a little more lenient." he says, and with that, his trinkets and him vanish without a trace.

Soon, a new planeswalker enters the arena. Armed with a spear, she looks around. "A place to test my strength, the crazy detective said. Well, it's as good a place as any." she says, and begins to walk.
Hilda has entered the arena!

She watched the one approach her, tossing the flame behind her, setting the grass behind her aflame. It snapped and licked at her heels but didn't spread far. She lets out a quiet grunt, and gets back into something that resembles a rhythm; even at her best, she moves as though she has wooden joints. Soon, she speaks again. "It's not quite true, actually. I've seen facsimiles of duels, before, on the... stage, and at the opera. Those often featured swords, but it was a lot of half-circles above and below... just entertainment..."Honorable Duel Sorcery Target creature you control fights target creature another player controls. test Honorable Duel: This is interesting. Symmetrical draw, usable in team matches, probably mostly used just for the fight but if you can bounce them off each other to draw it's a functional mode. I think I want to give an 8.5 but I don't do those so 9/10. Whatever ones she doesn't block aren't particularly painful - hard enough for her to register she's hit, but other than that, Hilda holds back. She's hard of listening as she judges what she can do, but catches the gist of it. As Lettie blocks a small hit, she speaks. "To tell you the truth, I might be out of my element here. All I've seen on this plane are fae and these creatures that are made of metal, and you could poison me real easy if you wanted. Meanwhile I wield a spear and flames." she explains, laughing about it, landing a light hit against Lettie's shoulder. As she draws back from her swing, Lettie's slow swing is blocked, but only just. Hilda cracks a grin. "Ah, that was a good swing!" she says, motioning for them both to stop the exercise for a moment after a few more exchanges. "Yes, play duels aren't exactly like real fighting. Or, my version of real fighting. My version includes using any and all tricks available to me - no such thing as 'playing dirty'." she says, stepping forward and clapping a hand on Lettie's shoulder. "But hey, for someone who's never fought with a weapon like a branch, that was pretty good! You're right, of course, that it would be a struggle for you without any potions. But you haven't even started training yet at all, after all this was just me judging your reflexes and abilities.
