I removed the reminder text for Dash to add some FT. I think as a Rare it's fine

sdfkjgh Oh, so it's almost like reverse-kicker? Clever. Looking at it, it's one of those cards that's multicolored because the plane is multicolored and not because the card's effects are, but I figure, sins of the father and all that. No, this card is very good. 5 mana for a 6/6 or 3 for a 3/3? Sign me up. It's a strong contender, I'll tell you that.
ameisenmeister I totally agree with you that manifest is underexamined. Shape Form doesn't quite get around what I see as the big obstacle of manifest, that noncreature permanents can't be flipped over, but I reckon that even if you just use it as a 1GG tutor that can't trigger ETB effects, that can still be a killer play. Like a manifested card, this spell also looks far less strong than it really is. Bravo.
viriss This card seems dangerously effective, honestly. Sure, your opponent can ping it, but if they can't destroy it outside of combat then you can really easily ensure that it can bounce from the battlefield back to your hand over and over again. Which means you can really easily trigger certain effects over and over again--and that's just from Tarkir block itself! The core of the card is solid, but not at these low costs.
Boogymanjunior A perfectly reasonable black piker, I see. It's not flashy, but it doesn't have to be flashy to make an impact. It's certainly effective at doing its job. There's not a whole lot I can say about this. Acceptable statline, perfectly good flavor, and its frailty is almost an asset in a proper Mardu raid deck. Good job on this one.
Tesagk Like Queen of Ice, almost. Reasonable, almost scarily cheap mana cost for its statline. Still, it's so frail that if I were playing it, I'd never block with it unless I absolutely had to, because chances are good that it's just going to splat against something and die immediately. It's a nice card, but I'm just not a fan of this effect.
nazsmith Ooh, this is neat! There are only three cards whose dash costs are higher than their normal costs, and they're all in black, so I think this makes for some really interesting unexplored design space. It can destroy a lot of creatures, but six mana is a lot, so I figure this is pretty balanced on the whole. As a normal creature, 4/3 flyer for 2RR is probably fine too, at least at rare. (Also, it's totally fine to cut out reminder text on rare and mythic cards. Totally valid.)
This was really tough to judge. Everyone's submissions had really interesting angles and clever designs. The winner is ................... sdfkjgh! Second place goes to ameisenmeister and third to nazsmith. Well done, everybody!

Huzzah! I always knew streamline was a good mechanic.
Hokay, zo, we're going aaaaaaaaaaaaaaallll the way back to early Magic for dis one, kiddies. In The Dark, there was supposedly a small subtheme of self-loathing among the colors, to represent various internal conflicts. So I want you all to design a card, monocolored, multicolored, or colorless, that hates on its own colors (or lack thereof). Judging will be in one week.

With any luck I'll be able to find art for a proper render.
Hermit's Decree Instant Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to and dealt by target attacking creature this turn. If that creature is black, destroy it. “It is good that you stay away. Those who feel kinship with me are cursed indeed.” —Uncle Istvan
"But Morgan, isn't this ability better suited for blue or white? Doesn't this card violate the color pie?" It does! And so did every third card in The Dark. You want a card that's like what The Dark had, here it is.

In the vein of Martyr's Cry and Riptide: Burning Hearts Sorcery Burning Hearts deals 2 damage to each red creature.

Hey, it's Leviathan's smaller distant cousin! It looks to me like a bit of a mixture of The Dark's color self hate and today's design direction. {Old version with "swamp" instead of "Swamp"}

Sorry I'm late with this, it completely slipped my mind. I should know never to trust something that's so close to being nonexistent as makes no difference: my sense of time. Anyway, judging:
FLAREdirector: While I appreciate the metadesign sensibilities, your entry is still too much of a color break. 4th place.
viriss: This feels both unfun to play with & against, and like it might be a necessary multiformat safety valve card vs. colorless strategies. While that's not the best place to be, designwise, I still can't fault the potential to be the chemo that cures an unhealthy format. Strong 3rd place. You might've placed higher, had other entries not been so good.
Flo00: Simple, clean, elegant, as effectively useful in the mirror as it is in aggo vs control matchups. I worry that it's a tad undercosted, but then again, it is rather narrow. Excellent job. See below.
Boogymanjunior: Normal Brain: Nice Tammy fatty. Galaxy Brain: Spike sees an 8/7 hasty trampling finisher for six. Universe Brain: Mel recognizes that there's absolutely no need to play with any Swamps whatsoever! See below.
lizstar: Clean and simple, but just a little too simple. Also, depending on the format, the damage prevention is virtually guaranteed to be trinket text. It's a nice design, but you could've done more to excite. Plus, the prompt was for a design that hates on its own colors or lack thereof, not a design that hates on itself. A more appropriate design would've been "Deathtouch for colorless" or something. Distant 5th place.
A WINRAR is Flo00, with Boogymanjunior a close second. Great job, errbody.

Next challenge: Show me something flavorful for Throne of Eldraine!

For example, if X is 4, you could discard one card and sac three permanents, or discard four cards, or any combination thereof.
By the way, I found this lovely art, and it seems perfect for this sort of challenge. Maybe it will inspire you.

It bothers me that Throne of Eldraine references "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves", but not the other Snow White story. ...and if this post looks familiar, it is, and I apologize. I realized after putting it up that the hasty first draft of the card needed some serious reworking, and deleted my reply in disgust. This version is much less undercosted, more flavourful, and I'm not ashamed to have my name associated with it any more.

I was genuinely disappointed that the Porridge Pot didn't feature, especially since Food was such a central mechanic.

(even if I still think Peasant's superfluous as a type in general) You're not wrong. Peasant's not doing anything that couldn't have been covered by Citizen, or even Serf. That's really just an issue with Throne of Eldraine's design, though. (If I were to guess, they didn't use either of the existing types because they are classified as "Token Types", though that may be weak, since there is at least one example of Citizen on a card, not counting Changeling.)

"New guild mechanic" do you mean a self-designed mechanic or a guild mechanic from the newer Ravnica blocks?

Inspired by this comment I made, here's the self-proclaimed, self-titled new leader of the Golgari Swarm:
Greatmaw, Heir to Svogthir Legendary Creature--Zombie Beast Warlock Consume (Your creatures can help cast this spell. Each creature you sacrifice while casting this spell pays for or two mana in any combination of that creature’s colors.) Trample, vigilance, deathtouch, hexproof, aggressor Greatmaw, Heir to Svogthir enters the battlefield with an additional two +1/+1 counters on it for each creature it consumed. , Remove a +1/+1 counter from Greatmaw, Heir to Svogthir: Return target creature card from a graveyard to its owner’s hand. 4/4
Just a reminder, aggressor means "This creature must attack each combat if able."

when in doubt, make a common
Inspiring Recruit Creature - Goblin Soldier First strike; exemplar (When this creature enters the battlefield, if it's not a token, you may pay . If you do, create a token that's a copy of it, except it's 1/1, and its name is its creature types.)The strength and respect he has earned in the ranks inspires goblins Ravnica-wide to aspire for greater things.
