Hi,
So this happens sometimes when somehow my sets get disconnected from their zip files which contains all their images. Typically if I save the set file but the zip file doesn't save with it. Now whenever I open the set I get the following on my console:
"File not found: "image (whatever image number here)" in package '(zip file's directory here)' If you are trying to open a file from another package, use "/package/filename"
I'm not sure what it means by "Use /package/filename". I don't know where to put that to tell the program where its zip file is. Also, the zip file's directory and name as listed in the error - is in fact located there with the name. It's just doesn't want to talk to it for some reason. You can further tell by the last saved dates being different. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone know how to solve it? I couldn't find it on the forums...
To clarify, ALL of my images are gone. The error message pops up each time I click on a different card in the set. That's why it gives an image number, because it detects the error each time it tries to load any image.
Answered: Open the .mse-set.bak file with WinRAR and you can open the actual set file with WinRAR. Then you drag and drop (or save then upload) the image files from the .mse-set.bak file to the actual set file that is still opened with WinRAR. Exit both out of WinRAR.
The actual set file is then re-populated with the image files like normal.

...my sets get disconnected from their zip files...
I'm not sure how to help you as I'm not sure what is happening. The set files don't use zip files (unless you are smarter at using MSE than I am which is always a possibility).
Based upon what you have posted, the only thing I can guess based upon your error message is that you have either moved the MSE program files (and therefore de-linked them from the \data\ folder) or deleted or removed the contents of the \data\ folder within the folders that MSE is located.
Can you tell me, if you go into the folder that contains "mse.exe" there should be a \data\ folder within this folder. Is this folder there and what is in that folder? (we are expecting several other folders ending in .mse-game, .mse-symbol-font, .mse-style, etc., your system may even list them as zip folders mine doesn't but...)

I assume you mean if I go into my "Magic Set Editor 2" directory folder and click on "data", then yes, I have a long list of .mse- folders.
One thing I do is I work on many computers and so it is hard to keep track which computer has the latest files of my projects, and it results in a lot of copy and pasting. Which did cause this at one point. When I figured out the cause I decided to keep the files on a share drive that all my computers talk to.
After posting about this, the only thing I can think of that would cause this is when I leave the file open on a computer, it goes into sleep mode on its own, and when I come back to it, the file is no longer talking to its .mse-set.bak counter part since that is also still on the server. And then I save it just in case I worked on something since then that didn't save, and exit it, but in doing so I save its "disconnectedness" losing the images.
I assume there is someway to get the two linked together again. I explored the old forums too and that's how I found out that the .mse-set.bak is actually a zip file which stores the images, set data, and the set symbol, but I still can't figure out how to repair it...
UPDATE: I FIGURED IT OUT! What you do is you open the .mse-set.bak file with WinRAR and you can open the actual set file with WinRAR. Then you drag and drop (or save then upload) the image files from the .mse-set.bak file to the actual set file that is still opened with WinRAR. Exit both out of WinRAR.
The actual set file is then re-populated with the image files like normal!
Sometimes you just got to talk it out with someone I guess, lol Thanks!

kr2004 first find your set's backup file. It has the same name as your set but ends in ".bak" if you delete the .bak it'll turn into the mse file you had previously saved which should still have the images. This isn't a thing. If you're doing something that makes this look like a thing, I'd suggest not doing that anymore. Playing around with .mse-files as zips when you don't know what you're doing is a good way to break em. impspiritguideThe set files are zip files. The card data and images are in the same 'folder' though so there's no way for them to get "disconnected"

Ninja'ed me, but thanks for the explanation! I didn't know that is what the ".bak" stood for. Thanks!

Thanks Cajun for the help.
I hadn't realized they were just using the zip encoding for their files, this is good to know if I ever need to help someone upgrade an old set file to an upgraded template (accessing the "set" file gets you all of the information). I figured it was just a hex based compressed file of some sort.
As for the \data\ folder and disconnectness I really had no idea what the OP was up to, I knew there was no separate zip file and though maybe they were getting the error messages from having deleted a template or something, knew I needed more info though which we got. Thanks again.
