I feel like one of the defining features of the Rakdos is their constant aggression at a cost. In hellbent, they lose cards in hand so that they get big bonuses, and in unleash, they lose the ability to block in exchange for more power. I figured, as something bad that becomes better are what they do, why not make a mechanic that's as close to that as possible?

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
Im pretty sure this can be used for commons, it's just harder.
Here are some examples (NOT submissions):

Aarhg : Afterlife might feel more Orzhov and/or be easier to balance if it made black Thrull tokens without flying instead. It's a nice idea, though. It would probably be easier to balance, but I decided on black and white spirit tokens because there are two Orzhov cards that already make those tokens, and there are none that make thrulls.

Im going for a Simic design. They tend to love +1/+1 counters. This mechanic will not generates as many counters like Evolve, but if just a small part of there creatures can move the counters around you will keep them. {Entry}

spazlaz: I guess you could also make spells at common that only affect a single creature... although then you'd have the odd case of having Enchantments that function a lot like Auras without actually being Auras.

I don't know if this is as balanced as it could be. The only other 3CMC lifelinker with 3 power is Rhox War Monk. I felt like Unleash got across the Rakdos feel of running in headlong, but it did not facilitate that when the next turn Simic was just going to evolve bigger blockers. Also last time we were on Ravnica, Menace wasn't a mechanic yet.

Ah hell why not Lyev Interrogator Creature - Human Soldier Lockdown-- At the beginning of your end step, if three or more creatures are tapped, draw a card. "You're innocent, you say? Let's see what we can do about that."1/3

{Text}Orzhova Celebrant Creature — Zombie Cleric When Orzhova Celebrant enters the battlefield, create three 0/1 black Thrull creature tokens. Mass — Whenever Orzhova Celebrant attacks, defending player loses X life and you gain X life, where X is the number of creatures you control. 0/4 I don't know if the token theme works with the Orzhov, but I'll try. I liked the double meaning of mass, being both a large number and the religious celebration. {Render}

spazlaz : I love your mechanic. I did a something similar way back called legislate, but yours is a much cleaner execution. Just a tiny note, though—you're missing "as" in the reminder text, i.e. Dictate only as a sorcery. "Some say that money is not always the answer. They've probably never faced an army of elite mercenaries armed with the best weapons money can buy."—Teysa Karlov, Grand Envoy of Orzhov
I chose this image because it reminded me of Gift of Orzhova. The pose is also kinda similar to Glorious Anthem, to which the card also alludes in name. I know, it's certainly not new, but it's never been keyworded. Still, I could change this if Aarhg deems that it violates the rules. Previous Orzhov mechanics mainly focused on general spookiness/spirits and lifegain. I thought I'd focus on one of the most important aspects of the guild—its wealth. I was tempted to instead use Treasure tokens to interact with more cards, but I don't think it fits flavor-wise.
