I've been looking around for an unsubscripe or unfollow function and I haven't been able to find it. Is there any way for me to tell the forum board that I no longer want a Participted notification for a thread?

I have to admit I'm not 100% sure due to a lack on experience with the Participated list in general (I never use it), but as far as I know / could find out on a quick first research there's indeed no way to remove things from it..
EDIT: Feel free to ignore my previous answer. While it's apparently indeed impossible to remove threads from the list, they will disappear after a while all by themselves as you continue posting elsewhere. To quote a ProBoards admin:
So this means if your last thirty posts happened in thirty different threads, your Participated list will contain these thirty threads. However if your last thirty posts all happened within the same thread, that thread will be the only one featured in the Participated list. Source. |

Don't you know you shouldn't "participate" in your own threads.... 
Course now this will be a thread I participated in.
For those of us with non-sequitor minds would wonder if sheep are aware of the threads they participate in... 
For someone familiar with language you would know that participated is a past participle which leads us to wonder
"If people pause on their profile to peer at participated posts perhaps they ponder ProBoards purpose of past participle projections."
