Ascension Stories SIBREENA Responsibility she thought At the end of the day it all comes down to that. My people rely on me, and it is my responsibility to keep them safe, even from themselves… ESPECIALLY FROM THEMSELVES!“Vorreia!” she said looking to her right, where her faithful companion stood “Send a warning to our allies in the Multiverse, Kellythross must be brought back immediately!”The elf nodded, bowed and vanished into the Eternities. Sibreena knew she could count on her. Vorreia had ascended just a few years ago, but she now knew what Sibreena felt: all of eternity at the tip of your hands, yet refusing it in order to keep your people safe.Yes she thought It all comes down to responsibility.* * * * * 71 years earlier, when Sibreena was only twenty-five, Demmurya was an entirely different place. The elf had been born into nobility, so her future in government was ensured, but not even her parents thought she’d have an innate ability that would forever seal her fate as the ruler of Spiralis, the great Demmuryan citadel: the Sight.Ever since she was a baby, her eyes would occasionally glow blue, and when her parents caught up on it, they sent her to the best physicians they could afford, but none could find anything abnormal with the child. As the years went by, her loved ones noticed a direct correlation between her oddity and her behavior, as every time she was faced with an important decision her eyes would glow blue and she’d always make the choice that proved to be the right one! When she was finally able to speak, she revealed the truth behind her powers, and had she been a Lubryoss rather than a Vollta, she’d probably been considered insane: Sibreena could see the future! It started as a few scattered visions, but as her mind developed so did her talent, and soon she was considered one of the most important and noble people in Demmurya. Now that she was twenty-five and on the threshold to womanhood, her powers were stronger than ever: she could not only see months into the future, she could occasionally choose when to trigger her visions, and they were increasingly detailed. Not only that, it seemed she was the herald of a whole new generation, since reports of new Vollta developing the Sight had increased in the past few years. Yes, even though she still couldn’t see it, her future as the ruler of Demmurya was guaranteed to happen. She headed towards the highest chamber of Spiralis’ tower: the government building. She was going to be interviewed and, should she pass (she would, as she’d already foreseen), she’d be offered a job in the tower. It would be menial at first, but from there she’d be given the opportunity to rise until once and for all to power. She could see her future and that of her comrades, she’d know what was best for them. She’d be the perfect ruler…“There she is!” she heard someone yell. It was a hoarse voice, one charged with violence and despise, it couldn’t belong to a Vollta, so it had to be…Before she could finish the thought she felt a stinging pain on her side, a knife tearing her muscle and liver as it plunged inside her body…“How did I not see this coming?” she whispered in tears as she fell on her knees, the movement increasing her pain. But there was something other than pain inside her, a wholesome feeling that seemed odd in the turmoil she was experiencing. The knife fell over her ready to stab her skull but before it came into contact the woman, she was already gone, vanishing into thin air.* * * * * When she woke up she was in a bed, but the material was unfamiliar, and she got up startled. She immediately realized her mistake as a stabbing sensation crept through her side. She looked at the wound and was surprised to find it bandaged. She thought the Vollta must have rescued her, but the bandage’s material didn’t seem to match their aristocratic status, they looked… cheap.“So you’re finally awake!” said a blond woman with a smile “My name is Vadinna, what’s yours?”Sibreena felt dizzy, that woman’s name didn’t make sense. She’d never seen robes like hers before, they were a dark blue color that contrasted with the woman’s blonde hair, and enhanced her already beautiful face.Sibreena liked them, she even wanted some for herself, but first things first…“My name is Sibreena Omenspeaker, I was on my way to Spiralis’ tower when I was assaulted by a Lubryoss man… I can’t recall anything after that…”“Is this your first time planeswalking?”“Planeswalking?” asked the elf bewildered.“It is then… you’re lucky you arrived at a populated village and that the people here are nice, you could’ve died from your injuries before anybody found you.”“What do you mean by planeswalking?” asked Sibreena with a slightly hostile tone. She didn’t know what that word meant, and as the first Demmuryan born with the Sight she didn’t enjoy not knowing something.“Whatever world you’re from, you’re not there anymore. You are now in a place we call Mellyner Blue… You have been given a special gift: the planeswalker spark. Every single world is contained in what we call the Multiverse, and the few of us who have the spark can walk between them. You must have ascended recently, and the wound on your side shows it was a traumatic one…“I myself come from the land of Althestra. I must have ascended about ten years ago, and I’ve been traversing the Multiverse ever since. As of now I’m here exploring the mysterious force that seems to have split the world into six realities.”That should be easy thought Sibreena smugly All I need is to focus in the future and the answer should…But something was wrong. It didn’t matter how hard she tried, the future was not coming to her. She wasn’t even having blurry visions as she used to when she was younger…“No, no, no, no!” she screamed in despair “My power, it’s… gone!”She breathed heavily, how was she ever going to reach her position as ruler if she lost her Sight? How would she even return to Demmurya if she didn’t understand planeswalking at all?She felt a weird sensation. It wasn’t unpleasant, but it didn’t feel right. She’d seen parents of less noble families do it with their children, but she’d never experienced it herself. It was a hug.“It’s going to be okay… I’ve been where you are. Many planeswalkers’ powers are bound to their homeworlds, but yours may be lost temporarily. With the years I’ve learned to empower myself regardless of the world I was in. I will aid you in your quest, Sibreena Omenspeaker, if you take me as your mentor.”The elf pondered those words. Everything she’d dreamed of accomplished was supposed to start that very day, and now here she was, in a completely foreign land, with a complete stranger. No, this wasn’t a stranger, it was Vadinna, the woman who’d selflessly rescued her and was willing to put herself aside to help her. Was this was maternal love was truly meant to feel like?“I will join you as your apprentice, Vadinna” she replied with determination. The research in Mellyner Blue yielded no results, so a year after her arrival, Sibreena left alongside Vadinna to a place called Dominaria, where they studied the time flow to see if it brought her Sight back.Gradually but surely her future visions began reappearing, blurry at first, but stronger with each passing day. Eventually Vadinna decided to return to Althestra and train Sibreena in the same magic arts she’d learned for years. Her training yielded wondrous results: not only did her vision reached further and further each time, her magical abilities grew exponentially. Three years of training in Althestra and she’d grown into a formidable woman. She’d even begun to ponder whether or not she’d ever return home, she was so happy here… until that vision came. She could see herself standing atop the balcony of the highest chamber of Spiralis’ tower, her hair decorated with the most beautiful golden crown she’d ever seen, giving a speech to all her people, her subordinates! She’d finally rule Demmurya. But there was something else there, a vindictive darkness that would begin to grow inside of her. If she returned she’d understand why she’d been attacked that fateful day, and she’d use her power to crush the responsible parties. It looked like she’d be able to contain that darkness, but she couldn’t exactly see how that would turn out? Was it worth taking that risk if that meant she’d get everything she’d ever wanted?“What time is it?” asked Vadinna as she was startled awake.“A few hours past midnight… I’m sorry to wake you up, but I had a vision…”She explained what she’d seen to her mentor. Vadinna simply smiled piteously and pressed her hand against her cheek.“I know you, Sibreena. It is normal to feel those emotions, but I’m sure you’d never give in to that. I would love to keep you in here, but a greater destiny seems to be calling you. Just follow your heart…”Sibreena teared up and sighed. They stared at each other silently for a few minutes and, when the elf stood up, both women knew what her decision was.Vadinna was not surprised to find Sibreena’s room empty the very next morning. THELLIOR The day wasn’t particularly eventful, just a regular day in Althestra. Inside the castle, after following an intricate pattern of corridors, one could reach the Throne Room, where Thellior sat, a golden goblet full to the brim with blood on each of his rugged hands. He drank emotionlessly as his pale hair fell over his sullen, ashen-gray face.He was already full, but that didn’t stop him from drinking. The one weakness he acknowledged his lineage having was gluttony, but he could live with that. After all, the vampires of his bloodline were stronger than other Althestran vampires: their muscular mass was bigger and their reflexes faster. Not only that; unlike their brethren, Thellior and his kin were capable of standing in direct sunlight and not be burned to ashes, possibly a consequence of the magic used by his predecessors to create the Eternal Seal…Yes, he was powerful. In fact, he was so powerful it was…“Boring” he whispered annoyed as he finished his second cup.The thrill of the hunt was gone, storming into villages and feasting on citizens had lost its appeal. The only thing that kept him going were the vampire-hunters’ raids. He’d met quite a few knights who tried to bring him down. Most of them had been formidable opponents, but he’d been able to defeat them as well. This world had nothing to offer him…“My lord” spoke one of his many servants as he entered the room “The preparations are ready; we await your orders…”At last, a worthy challenge! Tonight was the night Thellior would change the rules! Tonight they would storm the very headquarters of the vampire-hunters: the Valtrian Castle. He recalled the tales he was told by his patron (the vampire who’d transformed him) about an Althestra were vampires ruled and humans were but mere animals constantly hiding from them. If only he could bring that world back without breaking the Eternal Seal…The mission was clear: a commando of twenty younger vampires would storm the vicinity of the castle, attacking citizens in order to draw the knights out. Once a substantial group had left the castle, Thellior and his twenty most powerful subordinates would enter the castle and seek to kill Thiador, the most elite vampire-hunter of Althestra. If he could fight him one-on-one, Thellior knew it would give him the thrill he so desperately sought! The rackets and the fire in town indicated that the first part of the plan was in motion and it was time to get into action. The Valtrian Castle was a gigantic and sturdy structure, one of the first buildings the humans created when they seized control of the plane, and it had endured through the years. It was believed that all villagers could hide there and survive for a hundred years, but Thellior was about to put that to the test. His lackeys charged against the wooden door for about five minutes before they stubbornly accepted it wouldn’t budge.“Fine,” said Thellior “I’ll do it myself!”He grabbed a vial filled with a dark black liquid; it was a special refined blood, meant to enhance both his physical and magical capabilities. He ingested the content and veins immediately started popping inside his body. With a macabre grin he leapt at the door, his fist extended with an ominous aura surrounding it.The door cracked slightly, but that was enough for the rest of the army to break a hole into it and enter. This was enemy territory, and Thellior was about to teach those hateful vampire-hunters what it felt like being assaulted in their own homes. The entrance was clear, the only things visible in plain sight the armors and weapons carefully laid around so each knight could quickly prepare for battle immediately before leaving the castle. The group advanced towards the giant staircase at the other end of the room, scattering everything they found around. They reached the first floor and split into groups to scout. It wasn’t long before they found out it was where the trainee dormitories were. Thellior’s diabolical grin didn’t stop as he mutilated recruit after recruit with his minions, wiping an entire generation of vampire-hunters.Unfortunately reinforcements came before he could finish them all off.“Time to play” he said turning around and facing his new opponents. They were about ten knights, each already clad in glistening armors, swords unsheathed and shields up. Thellior reached for his belt, extracting two daggers made of polished bones and rotating them dexterously. He plunged forward and engaged three hunters at the same time. The first one struck as soon as the vampire got into his radius, but Thellior was expecting it and swiftly dodged him. With another quick movement he placed his arm around his opponent’s neck and got behind him while turning him around, creating a meat shield. The two other knights hesitated before striking at their friend, and the vampire used those seconds to kick his victim’s back, pushing him towards the other two enemies and making the three fall down to the floor. He heard a swish that indicated a sword was heading his way. He kicked himself upward and, with a graceful midair pirouette, he made strategic cuts in the man’s unprotected places, his daggers penetrating deep enough to cut crucial arteries and bleeding his foe to death. He landed immaculately, licking the blade of his weapons and rejoicing on the taste of blood. He saw the three men he’d previously faced charging at him out of the corner of his eye. He cackled softly and threw one of his daggers at the knight closest to him. The projectile flew with so much strength it pierced the head plate and embedded in the man’s skull, killing him immediately. The two remaining vampire-hunters charged as one, striking so quickly Thellior found himself too busy deflecting the strikes to be able to attack. That was the fight he’d been waiting for. For the next few seconds he simply avoided strike after strike while studying their fighting pattern until… Eureka! He saw an opening and took it. As he bent backwards to avoid both swords heading for his heart, he raised his foot, kicking the weapon out of his enemy’s hand. Without missing a single heartbeat (not that he had one) he grabbed the knight’s arm and applied enough brute force to crack all its bones. The man fell to his knees screaming in pain and Thellior jumped towards his last foe.
It was gruesome. The vampire wrapped his legs around the man’s thorax and placed a hand on his face. He pressed against it, his fingers penetrating the eye sockets and forcing the eyeballs to explode. Thellior immediately began biting the knight’s neck and swallowing gushes of blood until his mouth looked like a red sea.“Stop this madness!” spoke a stern voice. He turned around towards the source and saw the man he’d longed to confront for so long: Valakor, the most elite vampire-hunter in Althestra. He was around forty years old, although his hair was grizzled and his face weathered. He had a considerable amount of scars he’d earned through the years but they seemed to only make him mightier. His face was completely expressionless.Thellior saw the scenario surrounding him and saw all his minions bound in chains of white light…“We’ll settle this once and for all one-on-one” said Valakor without a single muscle in his face twitching.Thellior smiled and cracked his neck, then charged. He moved with uncanny speed, too fast for any human to follow, or so he thought. When he was a few meters away from the man, he jumped, releasing a few kicks that Valakor deflected effortlessly with his shield.Don’t think you can keep up with me thought Thellior as he landed while his arm descended while holding a dagger that was ready to sever the man’s head off.But the knight simply ducked and thrusted his sword towards the vampire’s stomach. The creature was caught off guard and had to quickly step backwards to avoid the strike, losing his equilibrium. Valakor used that as an opportunity to jab at his face with his shield. A horrible crack was heard, and Thellior staggered backwards as his head buzzed from the pain. This was unreal! He breathed heavily as his face contorted to an angry grimace, and he pulled three vials of his refined blood. He’d never taken so much at the same time, and was unsure of the consequences, but he was not going to surrender to this mortal. He swallowed the black liquid and started screaming and laughing at the same time as his ashen skin turned pitch black and his muscular mass increased to the point it ruptured his clothes. His eyes bulged to the point he felt they would fall off, and his hair thickened, giving it the aspect of wire.Thellior ran towards his target with both arms extended, breaking the stone walls that surrounded him as he advanced.Valakor remained impassive. All he did was raise his sword and wait for the right moment.“Luthgra” he spoke when the vampire was a few meters away. The knight’s weapon began glowing and a beam of white light shot from its tip. Thellior was sent flying backwards as the rays burned his skin and forced him into his usual form. How could a mere man defeat a vampire lord?He tried to get up but his energy was abandoning him.“Surrender, you scum” said Valakor “I cannot be defeated by the likes of you!”That phrase added insult to injury, and Thellior wouldn’t take it. Something stirred inside him, and he found his second wind, standing up and drawing a his favorite knife.“So be it” said Valakor.Vampire and man ran towards each other, weapons held high, ready to tear the other one to pieces. When they were close enough both blades descended at the same time, but something didn’t seem right about the situation. The same energy that Thellior had felt kept increasing inside him. It wasn’t just a second wind, it felt like so much more, unnatural even. Was this a side effect of ingesting three vials of refined blood?
Whatever it was, it was blurring his vision. Valakor was slowly fading away, being replaced by darkness. Maybe he was going to faint, maybe his body had just given up, but it definitely didn’t feel like it.His knife finished descending and he heard a scream, but it wasn’t the one he’d expected. This scream had come from a woman. The body fell to the ground. She looked like a simple villager, but her clothes were odd. He checked his surroundings and was confused. Where was the village he remembered? Where was the Valtrian castle? He fed on the corpse he’d left behind and then headed towards the village in order to find some answers.* * * * * He found the answers in the next few weeks: Innistrad. This brand new world was similar to Althestra but it had a crucial difference: vampires were more feared and respected. Unfortunately there was a catch: one of their own had betrayed them and created an angel to protect humanity, pathetic. If Thellior wanted to fight angels and humans he’d remained in Althestra. No, he needed a new challenge, but there was a silver lining, for he’d learned he was a planeswalker, and that meant he had the ability to travel to countless worlds. And so the hunt began: Nimunot, Theros, Disturbia, Celestia, for years he traversed the Multiverse in search of new challenging hunts. The more he saw, the more he wanted. Soon he’d be the most feared predator in the entire Multiverse. He knew he’d have to return to Althestra eventually, for he was a key piece to keeping the Eternal Seal standing. But in the meantime, why shouldn’t he enjoy the hunt? LAIA She looked at herself in the mirror and liked what she saw: a small, slender blonde woman with vibrant green eyes covered in nothing but a glistening white toga that covered her from shoulders to toes. It was the first time she ever wore that white tone and it she was grateful for the cause: today was the day of her ascension. Her name was Laia, and she was from Celestia. The hierarchy in that world was clear: the absolute rulers of the plane were the Heavenly, angels and aven that had been the foundation of all Celestian society, ruled by the High Council. One step down were the Syurrai, Land Dwellers (non-winged beings) who dealt with the Heavenly themselves and were in charge of relationships between both factions. Then came the Vullynos, who worked in the Land Dweller world.Of course not all Celestians could be placed into one of those categories: though technically Heavenly, the dragons did not wish to participate in the Celestian society. Things were at peace with the dragons, but everyone knew it was an unstable peace and a war could ensue at any moment. And then came the Outcasts. Consisting mainly of viashino and goriana, those two Land Dweller races wanted nothing to do with the High Council and their government, and so they kept to themselves (it was obvious they envied those who had wings).Laia’s mother was an angel and her father a Land-Dweller which meant Laia had been born into the Syurrai. She’d been born human, but today that would change forever, for today was her seventeenth birthday.Syurrai who were born from the union between a Heavenly and a Land-Dweller were given a choice when they came of age: spend the rest of their lives as accommodated Syurrai or develop their innate wings and ascend as a Heavenly, meaning they’d have a higher status but more responsibilities. Ever since Laia found out about the system, she’d yearned for her wings, and she was finally going to get them.
She entered the ritual chamber and her heart skipped a beat. It was a glistening chamber with gigantic windows at the top that allowed sunrays illuminate every corner of the room. It was a circular structure with eight pillars etched in the wall and holding it together and, standing in front of each pillar, a Heavenly member ready to begin her ritual. Laia almost couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw Moreena standing in front of one of the columns.Moreena was the most renowned soldier of the Heavenly army and it was rumored even Volthragos (the dragon patriarch) himself was afraid of her might. It was also said she’d soon be taking a place in the High Council. And yet here she was, ready to help her earn her wings. Laia was overjoyed! She stood at the center of the room, her gorgeous blond mane shimmering under the sunlight as if it were made of crystals.“Laia of the Syurrai, daughter of the angel Selenia and the Syurrai Falkner. Today is your seventeenth birthday” spoke a dark-feathered aven standing immediately in front of her. His teal robe and golden cane indicated he was the master of ceremonies. “You are here in this room because you have chosen to ascend as a Heavenly. Is that correct?”“Yes” replied Laia determined.“Being a Heavenly requires much responsibility, and you’ll start at a lower rank than right now. You can live as an accommodated aristocrat for the rest of your life should you stay as a Syurrai. Do you still choose to ascend?”“I do!” she exclaimed ecstatic. The aven stared into her eyes without blinking and asked her a question.“Do you have compassion?”“I do.”As soon as she answered, the platform she was standing on rotated and she found herself staring into the eyes of an angel clad in red. The ceremony required her answering truthfully while staring at each of the eight Heavenly that were evaluating her. They would know if she was lying, but if they found her worthy, then she’d finally become one of them.“Do you have determination?”“Yes.”“Do you have ambition?” asked a pale owl-like aven in a blue toga.“I do.”"Do you have patience?”“Yes.”"Do you have humility?”“Yes.”“Do you have integrity?”“I do.”“Do you have devotion?”“Yes.”She was finally faced with Moreena. The angel was wearing robes that were very similar to those worn by Laia. They stared at each other for a few seconds when the Heavenly smiled and spoke.“Do you have courage?”“I do” answered Laia smiling back. The eight Heavenly looked at each other and nodded.“We all agree that you have spoken nothing but the truth” said the master of ceremonies “Laia of the Syurrai, today is the day you are reborn. Today you become one of us!”She turned around, her face drowned in tears of joy, to look at her parents, standing in the doorway. Both of them nodded at her with sheer pride. The eight Heavenly that had judged her pointed their hands at her, white rays of energy flowing to and through her.She felt empowered by the feeling, her whole being radiating with a whole new energy as something sprouted from her back: a beautiful pair of pale white wings. Her face was overcome with ecstasy; she had one thing left to do…She shook her new wings and began taking flight. It was harder than she’d envisioned at first, and she drifted clumsily across the room, but she began getting the hand of it soon enough and began to ascend at a steady pace. The ceremony would be complete when she emerged out of the hole in the dome’s roof, and the entirety of Celestia would know there was a new angel in the skies. She rose faster and faster. The skies and all their infinite potential were waiting for her. She flew higher, and higher, and away, and away, and away…She could notice a blinding light engulfing her, a beam even more radiant than the sunrays that had been bathing her for the past few minutes. She closed her eyes to shield them and, when she opened them, she found a surprise…These were definitely not the heavens she remembered. What should be an endless white sea under her feet was instead a dark mass that rose ominously above her, clouds crackling full of thunder. But what scared her the most was not the landscape or the sky, but the creatures that were flying around her: dragons!Could it be? The only logical explanation was that something had happened during her ascension, and she’d been out for a few days. In that short period of time the fragile peace between Heavenly and dragons had broken and the latter had taken control of the plane. One of the creatures seemed to focus on her. It was a specimen she’d never seen before: it had four wings rather than two, both of them with featherlike scales and it seemed to spit out lightning rather than fire. She tried to fly away but the creature was by far faster than her, and quickly caught up. She did manage to avoid the lightning bolt that flew in her direction, but the creature hit her with its body, and the size difference took a toll on her.She began falling, her body hurt and her consciousness failing. As her eyes closed and she felt her imminent crash against the ground coming at any second, she mourned her world and began recalling its previous state with as much detail as she could, wishing her last thought to be a tribute to the most perfect place in the world. She didn’t know that the place where she was right now was called Tarkir, that she’d planeswalked to it, and that in trying to evoke Celestia’s memory, she was returning home once more…* * * * * She woke up in a comfortable bed a few hours later. She was greeted by an aven with a healer’s gown. Had it all been a dream?“Oh, you’re finally awake” he spoke “Get some rest and eat up. Mirathen has requested to speak to you!”She had clearly misheard, or maybe she was delusional, or maybe this was the dream! Yes, it was far more probable for dragons to take over Celestia than for Mirathen to request speaking to her… An hour later she was proven wrong when she actually entered the seraph’s quarters.Mirathen was older than he looked. He was a tall, wizened angel, three immaculate wings spreading on each side and long white hair revealing his old age. He was the most ancient member of the High Council, and one of the most venerated Heavenly. He’d earned his position by both effort and wisdom. No Heavenly considered themselves worthy of being in his presence, why should she, a new Heavenly be any different? She knelt before him, shaking with expectation.“Raise, my child” he spoke in a friendly tone. The rumors were true, he was a gentle soul after all.“Th-t-thank you, s-sir” she said, trembling slightly.“I’ve called you because it has come to my attention there was an… incident during your ascension.”She blushed. He simply smiled piteously and continued.“Do not worry, you are not in trouble. Quite the contrary, I must say. I believe you have been given a unique gift, and I am here to help you control it. Have you ever heard of planeswalkers?”She had to admit she hadn’t. Mirathen gave her a long lecture about worlds beyond Celestia, and wonderful beings capable of walking between them. Apparently she, of all creatures, had been blessed with a planeswalker’s spark. The world overtaken by dragons had not been Celestia after all!She did share her discovery with the elder, and his face seemed to lose all amiability.“Yes” he said concerned “I understand your fear, and I must confess you were not that off. Unfortunately, during your journey to this world and back and while you were asleep after we rescued you from your fall the peace between the dragons and us has broken. War has ensured, and I am afraid we will have to fight until either us or they are extinct.”Laia regretted hearing this news. The Celestia she’d hope to be a part of had begun to change the very day she was finally ready to enjoy with her full potential, but apparently there was a silver lining. Now Mirathen would become her mentor, and she was far more extraordinary than she’d expected. Not only that, but that very day the chain of events that would lead her to becoming a part of the High Council and finding love would begin, even if she didn’t know it yet.Yes, there were dark days coming, but she was ready to face them head on!

I decided to establish a timeline of my stuff, I'll be adding to this in the future. The calendar I'm using is the Khalizor one, since it all begins with Pandora:
-1992: Khaliz-Dorahn is created
-50: Makranos travels to another plane for the first time
-35: Pandora is born
-15: Malextros travels to another plane for the first time
00: Pandora ascends at the age of 35 (the new Khalizor calendar takes Pandora's year of ascension as year 0)
257: All life disappears in Mellyner, along with any sign that there was ever a civilization there. The plane is split into six parallel realities.
386: The Watermaker creates Iscathia
1465: Thellior ascends at age 60
1479: Vadinna ascends at age 41
1516: Heletrios arrives at Khaliz-Dorahn
1519: Heletrios has a son he names Merkurio
1527: the Evil One is created and the War against the Evil One begins. The Evil One is imprisoned a few months later which results in the deaths of Heletrios, Seluriel, Makranos and Thellior, Merkurio ascends at the age of 10
1530: The War of the Shield begins
1608: Korrinayru faces the Titan's Descent, Allagras ascends at the age of 16
1628: Allagras arrives at Khaliz-Dorahn
1629: Amrhotep ascends at the age of 40
1631: Aylin ascends at the age of 16, Akrianos ascends at the age of 36
1633: Jeska is brought back to life by the Watermaker, she is then set on a quest to recruit planeswalkers against Phyrexia

CHARACTER PROFILES Lich Lord SommerethAge: unknown Gender: male Birthplace: Disturbia Color Identity: Brief biography: over a hundred years ago, Sommereth was just a regular human being who lived happily with his wife in the suburbs of Disturbia. When his wife fell fatally ill and no doctor could cure her, he decided to turn to more dire methods. He went to see a witch who gave him a strange green elixir she promised would heal his wife. By the time he got back, his wife was already dead and, in his anger, he shattered the vial holding the mysterious potion. The substance entered his bloodstream through the cuts in his hand and, after a few days of excruciating pain, he was reborn as a zombie. Even though he tried to fight his desire for human flesh by escaping civilization, he eventually had to feed on someone since he was starving. Regretting it with all his soul, he wished he hadn't killed that man and, wishing he could bring his victim back to life, what was left of his victim's corpse was reanimated into a mindless zombie. After realizing he apparently had the power to bring the dead back to life, he decided to delve into necromancy, but realized that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't do it. When he feasted on a new victim, he felt a strange surge of energy and, trying to put a theory to the test, went to a graveyard to exhume a body he successfully reanimated, this one with slightly more cognitive capabilities than the first one. It was then that he realized the truth: to give life, he needed to take it from someone else first. He spent the next few decades amassing an army with which he eventually conquered Disturbia, rising as its new ruler. His first decree was gathering dozens of the most vital citizens, feasting on them in one night to absorb their energy to do what he had been waiting for for so long. That very night he went to his wife's grave and used the accumulated energy to bring her back to life with all her memories and mental capabilities intact, something that worked. Sommereth was ecstatic, but the same couldn't be said for his wife Karele. Having been disturbed from eternal rest and brought back against her will to an undead existence made her resent Sommereth. Now she is his sworn enemy, seeking to torment him for the rest of his immortal life.
