Hello. I am trying to create a custom mana symbol for a planeswalker themed set. Below are the symbols I am trying to include in the mana cost of my cards. I have been using this tutorial to code them into mse but I haven't been able to access them in the application. magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/node/6118 I coded them in the symbol_font file as symbol: code: L/C image: Blind_C.png and replaced (WUBRG) with (L/W L/U L/B L/R L/G L/C)(WUBRG) in the script file. These were the steps presented to me by the tutorial but I couldn't get any results. Can anyone help me get them into mse? I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have the latest version of mse and I'm using notepad ++ to edit the scripts. I am reposting this here because no one in the starting projects page could help.

Indeed, which is why I moved the thread - this really is the best place to find someone to help you with issues like that (sadly I'm not one of those people as I have no idea how to work with templates, sorry )

After I double-checked your work. It works when you place them into the "magic-mana-small.mse-symbol-font" segment for use in the rules text. For some reason the template isn't allowing "L" to be used in the large symbol font for the casting cost. I tried several other characters and none of them worked either. I would guess that there is either a script restricting the input or something else I couldn't find. I did find a Janky work-around if you want to use it. Use the codes
symbol: code: HC image: Blind_C.png
make all of your inputs similar to the phyrexian mana but without the slash for the symbol codes. An additional thing you should add is the following to the end of the symbol-font file
item: type: line item: name: planeswalker item: HW item: HU item: HB item: HR item: HG item: HC[/div][div]
This will make sure that the symbol codes are accessible from the drop-down Format>Insert Symbol MSE menu. Perhaps one of the people more familiar with the MTG templates knows where to find the appropriate blocking script for the better solution. But this will at least give you the band-aid so that if you only want one set you can use them.

I believe the filter for that is in magic.mse-game/script
Any of the text within # Sorting mana symbols that references all the different symbols or # The text box seems to be where the filtering takes place, so by adding L into those should make it so that your custom mana font works properly.

Ok, so I used HW, HU, HB, HR, HG, and HC and follows the tutorial and impspiritguide's comment and I still can't get it in the textbox or the cost. I also added the bit to get it in the menu and they were not in there. Every time I typed HW or [HW] it gave me a colorless phyrexian and a white, not the white custom. I looked in the script file and added the codes but It still wouldn't work.

Attachment DeletedI've fiddled with this idea a bit and gotten it working with some caveats. I used F as the symbol for your custom colourless mana and F/W for colours, since using FW only ever allowed one use of the symbol in the mana costs (unless you use unsorted mana). You might be running into trouble since you're overlapping with phyrexian mana.

I managed to get them into the textbox but I am still unable to do the cost. I set the Symbol, code, image for the cost symbol font file then copied it into the text symbol font file so they are the same. I did what the tutorial said and replaced the two instances of (WUBRG) with (F)(WUBRG). I wrote [F/W] in the text but it didn't turn into the symbol but I selected and used Ctrl+M (Symbols) to change it and it did work. All I need now is to get the cost to work. I Type F/W in the cost and it makes the / and the W symbols but doesn't recognize the F.

For the cost you need to alter the template, since the card pulls its mana symbols from some coding in there. I took a copy of M15 Mainframe and changed some values to make it show up as a slightly different template, then set casting cost: name to magic-mana-blind-large instead of magic-mana-large and redid the dependency.

What is the M15 Mainframe (M15 w/Text altering) folder named? I have way too many frames for finding one to be easy.

It is magic-m15-altered.mse-style (for me at least, but I also do some folder re-jiggering every so often so it might just be magic-m15.mse-style Check that one if the first one isn't right)

What do I edit to make F a valid symbol? I changed magic-mana-large to magic-mana-blind-large but nothing happened. Do I need to make a copy of a the magic-mana-large.mse-symbol-font folder? I don't understand what I need to do to the file.

I can type "F" to get the colorless blind mana but when I try to type "/W" afterwards it removes the symbol and gives me / in a mana bubble and White mana.

I set mana_sort on line 8 in magic.mse-game/script to be
mana_sort := sort_text@(order: "XYZI[0123456789]FDHSC(WUBRG)") in that exact order, and now it functions exactly the same as phyrexian mana. Is your script file the same?

I just set it up in the same way and it still isn't functioning like phyrexian. It shows up as colorless and then dissapears when I type /W.
