The Knights Templar was a large organization of Christians during the medieval era who carried out an important mission: to protect European travelers visiting sites in the Holy Land while also carrying out military operations. I tried to capture that idea in this card. What if you did something like:

sade612 : Your entry is deceptively powerful, so much so that it needs to both cost more, and be higher rarity. There's a reason WotC doesn't do this effect anymore, and that's because it makes combat math a nightmare.
I'd recommend at least & .

Tesagk Personally, I think your card is doing too much. It has three unique abilities on each side, which is way too much to keep track of for one card. I'd cut it to 2 effects per side.

This is a lovely card and really scary. Wording seems a little awkward but you have far more experience than I do.

Demand for Zeal Sorcery Destroy each creature with one or less colored mana symbol in its mana cost. "Your piety leaves much to be desired." —Heliod, god of the sun This card is awesome. I love it! EDIT: Just noticed it only has one symbol itself. If that was intentional for the sake of irony, that's even cooler.

Gods? Alright, lets do God. Not a god. Not God of the Something. God. The one. The almighty. That one. Yes. Give him/her your devotion. What devotion? Any devotion. It doesn't matter. He/She just wants it. Because he/she is the one.

Something from a project I'm working on. Inthrullgences are pretty self explanatory: the Church forgives your sins, in exchange for being able to reanimate your flesh as a thrull after death and being allowed to use it for forced labour. Nobody really knows what actually happens to the souls, though. I discussed the setting a bit in the Discord, then shiftyhomunculus later said: So, I made this top down design from that mental image, because it's honestly a pretty good idea, imo. The card's first ability comes from the fact that most Thrulls in the set (well, all of them so far) are 1/1 tokens (but it gives -2/-2 to hose the other prominent type of token in the set as well). The second ability, on the other hand, deals with the soul after death.

mrlozano: You need to be very specific with the clause for turning on your entry. Right now, there are at least two interpretations:
1) A loose interpretation of "As long as your devotion to any color is three or less..." would mean that it turns itself on, as your devotion to any color is, in fact, five. 2) If your intention was a stricter interpretation, then you should've had it read: "As long as your devotion to any one color is three or less...".
I suspect you intended the latter.

So...hi everyone! I'm new here, this will be my very first post. I just found out about all this the other day, since I've gotten back into Magic after a few years on hiatus. I've also started outlining a set I would like to start working on, but I saw this was a weekly challenge, so I thought it would be a good place to start. So, this is my first attempt at a custom card. I decided to try my hand at representing how the Divine affects everyday people...especially when used as a threat. Attachment DeletedAlso, MSE is convinced the reminder and flavor text are italicized, but clearly they aren't, so if anyone knows what's up with that, I'd love the help XD; Edit: Apparently I also don't know exactly how to post yet. I'm trying to work it out so please bear with me.

Jartis - Hey there and welcome! A few things to start you off - you're probably getting that plain font because you don't have the M15 font installed. try checking here, specifically under "Fonts for Magic Templates". As for the card itself: Humble is a bit vague with its current reminder text. Does it refer to any attacking creature or just this creature? If it's the latter you'd be better off saying "When this creature becomes blocked, you may tap up to one target non-legendary creature blocking this creature and remove it from combat." (Note that I replaced the number 1 with "one", numerals typically get saved for things you declare 'values' for like power, toughness, damage, and mana.) I'm not really sure what makes this card Black - I do get that it works as a sort of evasion in combat, but combat manipulation tends to be Red and tapping things down in this context tends to be White. Also, it'd probably be in your best interest to define an additional "race subtype" for the card as well (Human, Elf, Dwarf, etc...). It's not necessary but these days it does look a bit odd for a typical creature to "just" be a Warrior/Cleric/etc...

Attachment DeletedYou were spot on about the intent of the ability, so I used your suggested wording, as well as fixing the fonts, mana, and race subtype. I think the card itself is good now, but I'm still not entirely sure why the card is showing up so small. I think it's because I'm attaching the exported card image but I'm not sure how else I would do it, so if anyone could help with that, I'd appreciate it. Sorry for all the questions, I'm just new and trying to get a grasp on things.

@ Jartis : To get a bigger image, use an external image hoster and then imbed the direct link offered like this:

But don't worry, I'll make sure your entry will be included in full size in the poll anyway
This thread is now closed, the poll can be found here. And here's the next challenge!
