I'm thinking of running a contest to add cards to my set. It'll be a good way for me to ensure it gets completed sooner rather than later, while also learning more about better card design. I'm by no means well-off, but if people are contributing to something I'm doing, I'd like to be able to say thank you. So I'd like to know what people would enjoy as small prizes. Anything from MTG cards to promo cards to even maybe booster packs. Cheers! (p.s.) If you want to join the set team regardless, you can post in the thread  |

When I read your question a few days ago, I didn't really have the time to answer - but I'm finally back 
So just to make sure: You basically want to make a few design contests to get cards for your set and give people RL stuff as additional reward? That would be.. unsusual, I admit. In most cases the "reward" is to get your card in in the first place - or to get free reign to design a  or ::mythic:. slot card or similar. Not that I'd (try to) forbid the RL rewards, but I don't think that'd work well especially considering our userbase pretty much literally spans around the whole globe So even if you have some nice but not too pricy rewards, shipping costs probably would be huge.. |

I'm willing to pay out a bit for shipping costs. The biggest hurdle I figured I'd run into is people wanting to stay relatively private with their addresses and I hadn't thought to ask mods about being go-betweens. Gift cards are pretty universal though. But those sorts of less tangible rewards are also a great idea. I'll sort of pan it out. Maybe people will earn points towards a grand prize, with intangible rewards going to individual contests. |
