Brush Predator Creature - Cat Biosphere - Whenever ~ attacks, if you control four or more creatures, put a +1/+1 counter on each of up to two target creatures.
2/3
While making a set with unbalanced colors is generally a bad idea, I think it works fine as a booster pack game.
Torment was a graveyard-focused set - Flashback, Threshold, and Madness made the set's black theming come through stronger. I thought a similar ability word to Threshold could have a place here - caring about something that's thematically connected to green, but could fit in any color.

Common #3:Hybrid favoring green seems pretty sensible for this set. Bitter-leaf Balm Instant Choose one: - Tap target creature you control. It gains indestructible until end of turn. - Draw a card if you control a creature with power 4 or greater. You lose 1 life. A riff on how regeneration was a shared Green-Black effect. It also mixes together Green and Black's conditions for card draw for a somewhat niche cantrip.

Common #4
Widening Woods Enchantment — Aura Enchant land When ~ enters the battlefield, create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token. Enchanted land is a Forest. The Great Grove grows ever greater. An analogue to Spreading Seas that would be a perfect fit flavor-wise. Changed the card draw effect to something that suits better.

Common #5:Gablaxan Grimhorn Creature - Rhino Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, you may sacrifice it. If you do, proliferate. 2/1 A dying charge to a glorious, brutal, death. While it's tempting to have everything directly support green/be green and call it a day, I do think it's important to make it possible for other colors to still work. This is meant to be a single-instance aggressive proliferate common similar to Pollenbright Druid, as Thrummingbird and Grateful Apparition indicate repeatable Proliferate should be Uncommon or above.

Adaptive Cub Creature - Bear Evolve (Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, if that creature has greater power or toughness than this creature, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature.)2/2 I am surprised there has not been a vanilla creature with evolve. Let's not stop now

Common #10 Raging Punch Instant ~ deals 3 damage to target creature. If you control an attacking creature with a +1/+1 counter on it, ~ deals 3 damage to that creature's controller. A Searing Blaze type effect that tries to give a little nuance to +1/+1 counters-matters effects. Red gets offensive combat tricks fairly often encouraging the use of attacking creatures, so why not play around with its burn on this axis as well? EDIT: Fixed, thanks.

A Searing Blaze type effect that tries to give a little nuance to +1/+1 counters-matters effects. Going to try to bump this one seeing as we were really close to finishing: Uncommon #2: Spellcrush Instant ~ costs less to cast if you've put a +1/+1 counter on a creature this turn. Counter target spell. Compare Wizard's Retort.

Uncommon #3 Kanzem Knotmasters Creature - Kithkin Warrior When Kanzem Knotmasters enters the battlefield, exile target creature an opponent controls with power 4 or greater until it leaves the battlefield. Some might wonder how the Kanziams manage to survive in this world. They learn to see strenghts as weaknesses, and they learn to work together. Without either of those, they'd surely die.
2/1 I figured a little bit of hate would be a good idea. Also, kithkin.

Mythic #1:Invigoration's Envoy Creature - Snake Whenever you put one or more +1/+1 counters on a creature you control, add one mana of any color. 2/1 Lotus Cobra except it's a more interesting combo-based build-around since you typically have to pay a decent of mana or tap as an ability to put a +1/+1 counter on something. We use "one or more" terminology like Zabaz, the Glimmerwasp so that single cards that start with multiple +1/+1 counters like Graft or Modular creatures don't generate a large pile of mana out of nowhere. gamma3 - Looks like we're good to go

Judging in progress! Please waitThe Day of Judgment has arrived! { dangerousdice } Ariku Runner: Simple hasty one-drop with a set-appropriate bonus. 10/10 Overall: While you technically have a perfect 10/10, I'd like to have seen a little bit more from you. It's hard to compare your work to the others when your only card to compare with is a single common. { thaneofglamis } Brush Predator: I like the biosphere ability word, the payoff is pretty good, and seems appropriate power level for a common. 10/10 (As an aside, the +1/+1 counter theme was my attempt at emulating the graveyard theme of torment - something mostly tied to the color, but is a space that the other four colors cam play around in) Canopy Eagle: Card filtering that becomes a decently sized threat later. I see no issues with this card. 10/10 Taproot Shambler: Cool concept, solid design. I feel referring to evolve specifically, rather than just +1/+1 counters in general, is probably not the best idea, but I otherwise like the card. 8/10 Overall: You did a good job of keeping green the focus, while also branching out into working non-green designs. Well done. 9.5/10{ ZephyrPhantom } Bitter-Leaf Balm: Green-brid is a solid move here. Not sure how I feel about the second mode; I agree that it's pretty niche, but the design concepts are solid. 8/10Gablaxan Grimhorn: A solid proliferator that feels very black. The flavor text is just icing on the cake. 10/10 Raging Punch: An elegant combination of Searing Blaze (as you mentioned) and the +1/+1 counter theme. A fun little card for red aggro. 10/10 Spellcrush: Your one comment in your post is basically all I have to say about this card. 10/10 Invigoration's Envoy: That looks like a real fun payoff card. Not sold on the name, but the actual design and callback looks great. 9/10 Overall: Similar to thaneofglamis , you've done a great job keeping things feeling green while still making nongreen cards work with the set. Again, well done. 9.5/10{ Fermat } Widening Woods: Token maker fuels Biosphere, while playing into soft land hate. I almost think this might want to be uncommon, but Evil Presence suggests that this should be fine. 9/10 Gluttonous Ape: I feel like this card wants to be uncommon; it's floor is not great even for limited, and sacrificing a land is a pretty steep cost to have at any frequency. As an uncommon with a slightly higher floor, I can see this being a solid design, but as is, it seems unfun. 5/10 Overall: You came out the gate strong, but faltered a bit with the ape. You played well to the themes of the set, but I think you could spend a bit more time thinking about how the card would work in practice. 7/10{ foureyesisafish } Woodheart Evoker: Not a bad choice for this set. I like that you played into ZephyrPhantom 's idea of green hybrid for the set. Ultimately though, like Manamorphose itself, I feel that this card is much more mono-green than hybrid. 8/10 Adaptive Cub: Evolve fits right in to the structure so far. As a common, I'd probably have it start off as just a 1/1, since it's going to get big anyway, but otherwise, very solid. 9/10 Overall: There's not much to say here. You did a good job of keeping in mind what came before, and following the direction the set seemed to be taking. Good job. 8.5/10{ lordpat } Kanzem Knotmasters: Yes, something to deal with the runaway counters in the set is probably a good idea. Attaching it to a creature helps with the themes of the set. Nice card. 10/10 Overall: You came in at the end here with a much needed check on the crazy big creatures coming out of this set. I'd love to see what more you would do, but like with dangerousdice , I don't feel like I have enough of your designs to compare to the others. The winners: Everyone did really well with this challenge! In the end, this ended up being really close. The win goes to ZephyrPhantom , with thaneofglamis as a very, very, very close runner up. Well done to all of you!

Copyright Rocksteady Studios and Warner BrosYour next plane is PuratorImagine the brilliant shining steam works of Kaladesh, the intense debates of the schools of Strixhaven, or the constant guild politics of Ravnica. A complicated, conflict filled system kept in check by some established order that manages to run society in a way that benefits the populace. Now imagine a world where that shaky order doesn't exist. Vulturous Aven Creature - Bird Shaman Flying Exploit (When this creature enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice a creature.)When Vulturous Aven exploits a creature, you draw two cards and you lose 2 life. 2/3 "Fresh rot-secrets here! A small purloined series of executive exams, a list of shipments of imitation lotuses, all for a small price!"Whether Purator was once like those planes doesn't really matter anymore - what does matter is that to get ahead, you'll have to outwit and outlast everyone around you. Careful you don't expose any sense of morality, or it'll get trampled on and scraped out by the nearest chunk of the underworld. Brash Investigator Creature - Dwarf Warrior When ~ enters the battlefield, investigate. (Create a colorless Clue artifact token with “, Sacrifice this artifact: Draw a card.”), Sacrifice ~ and an artifact: ~ deals 2 damage to target creature or planeswalker. 2/2 "There's nothing we can't solve with a little spark to your skin."Tireless Investigator Creature - Elf Warrior When ~ enters the battlefield, investigate. (Create a colorless Clue artifact token with “, Sacrifice this artifact: Draw a card.”), Sacrifice ~ and an artifact: Draw a card. You may play an extra land this turn. 2/2 "You want the deed to Shamrick Lodge? Sure, but I'll need information of Baron Vun's newest scandal..."Needless to say, those who fight for a sense of right tend to either die young or compromise fast. Everyone is in someone's back pocket, even if they don't know it. Frenzied Fugue Enchantment - Aura Enchant permanent When Frenzied Fugue enters the battlefield or at the beginning of your upkeep, gain control of enchanted permanent until end of turn. Untap that permanent. It gains haste until end of turn. Patrolman Zor didn't know how far he would go for the Gordak Family until his husband was the one threatening him with fire in his eyes.In this cesspool of crime and corruption, whispers tread among the underworld of a few who aren't falling in line with anyone. A violent disemboweling here, a convenient mass arrest there..... many speculate a new player, biding their time to become Purator's new Kingpin. But these individuals may seek something else entirely. The Gordak Reign Ends! Enchantment - Saga (As this Saga enters and after your draw step, add a lore counter. Sacrifice after III.)I - Creatures you don't control get -1/-1 until end of turn. II - ~ deals 3 damage to any target. III - Target player loses 1 life for each creature and planeswalker card in their graveyard. Some other notes about the set: - This is a set based loosely on criminal investigation type movies and mythos like Sherlock Holmes, but more specific inspiration has been taken from Gotham City from Batman, specifically the idea of a corrupt modern city overrun by criminals that may be difficult to change or reform conventionally. - Enemy colors were chosen to reflect the more grim nature of the set. Ally colors represent something else entirely... - The returning mechanics are Exploit (to show the plane's affinity for the criminal element), Investigate (to represent the plane's law enforcement), and Saga (a sort of a wink and a nod to comic books and their serialized nature). - I debated having the exclamation mark on the Saga, but since +2 Mace means characters on a keyboard are probably okay, I figured reasonable use of punctuation is acceptable. - How you choose to represent the 'heroes' of this world is up to you, but I would prefer if you kept the line of heroes vs. broken society clearly intact. Someone like The Punisher would still be a hero here - the point is that they have somehow managed to stay clear of the all consuming social corruption rampant in Purator. Common #1 is up to the first poster. Good luck and have fun!

Substance Shifter Creature - Elf Merchant When ~ enters the battlefield, put a +1/+1 counter on another creature you control and draw a card. "Of course I never felt bad about this, Merion. I exist to satisfy the need of the market! Supply and demmand! Now, hand me the rope before his spider hallucinations start to kick in."
1/1 Thought that hybrid was a good way to introduce shifting alliances, convoluted criminal networks, untrustworthy people, etc. Techincally a bend in blue, but Wizards has made blue play with +1/+1 counters a lot, I think this is fine.
