A relentless champion of the God of Adversity, Ni'ama, dedicated to bringing salvation from the twin demons of ignorance and moral degeneracy... well, to badgering everyone who he feels (accurately or otherwise) is exhibiting these things, at any rate. Self-assured and confident (or, as many would call it, relentlessly smug and prideful) in his duty, As'han will not falter in guiding the lost into being their better selves... defined solely by As'han's own conceptions of what people should be doing with their lives at any given time. His methods may be abrasive and even dangerous, but As'han means well... although not as well as he thinks he does.
A recent ignored epiphany means As'han is now even more fervent about haranguing people into being stronger. Unfortunately, since he still hasn't grown a halfway consistent ethos for it, he's now going to be even more of a nuisance, most likely.

Forewarn Instant Target player reveals their hand. Each of that player's opponents draws a card. Forewarn: Neat multiplayer card. Sort of begging for FT, but that's minor. 9/10.
"Oh, you flatter me too deeply, seeker!" says As'han, trying to make a show of humility by hiding his face with a paw -- but underneath, a satisfied smirk forms. "I have yet to even begin my sacred work! But I must thank you for bringing this boy to my attention. I am needed! But fret not, seeker, for I shall not forget you, either! Tube: Quirky manarock that I like. 8/10.
"Ah..." To tell the truth and to say that it's a basic spell priests of Ni'Ama are taught, only to imply his own kin's ineptitude through his poor performance; or to lie and claim this style of magic his own, endangering his standing as a figure of moral authority? "Who's to say how much learning is from our own brow, and how much it is the will of exalted forces our greater? I have learned only that which Patron Ni'Ama has seen fit to let me." speaks As'han, settling on the smokescreen of deep-sounding vagueties.
Obfuscatory Oration Instant Activated abilities can't be activated this turn unless they're mana abilities. Triggered abilities don't trigger this turn. Draw a card.

I do like this kind of card though so 7.5/10
Only half-listening within the protection of his angel, As'han has been preparing a spell while Aylin's been ranting, and releases it as she finishes; three barriers of light, in a triangular formation, manifest and attempt to seal her within. "You yet persist in your stubbornness? Honestly, I have overestimated you." laments As'han, sounding sincerely disappointed. "Fine, then. I will relent for now. Rampage as you will. Blinding Velocity I like that you designed a card with a name referencing speed that doesn't use the word "haste". Unfortunately, according to this rule multicolor level also applies to color identity, so I'm forced to give you a 0/10. Were that not the case, I would be giving you a 9/10 for this cool take on blinkers. (Also yeah, I forgot to add the Elemental to the ability in my last card). Aylin is enraged by the vermin's constant insult, but when she sees him leave, she decides she doesn't have time to deal with a coward like he is. Eventually someone she's instigating against him will give him what he deserves. In the meantime, she'll just have some fun...Premature Celebration Instant Exile target creature that entered the battlefield this turn. "Hah! Missed me you stup-!" -Telam, last words

Yeah, I didn't really know how to price raw Aura Swap. Hence what you see above. Conversely, Proof of Clarity feels rather nice, and has a good price (though I am amused at the number of creature-facing attacks/responses I get - Kirino doesn't do critters ). A 9/10. oh g'wan then
(since I have been not doing this for a while (six months holy hell) and y'all seem to have developed a fair bit of Intricate Lore involving Timeline Shenanigans during this current BB renaissance, I'm gonna utilize the patented fluffyDeathbringer Wibbly Wobbly Timey-Wimey Stuff Ball approach to canon and say that these following responses are as Canon as you feel like them being. please don't respond to them with cards and complicate things for me even more as for me, after/during these responses As'Han took a long trip back home, got caught in Shenanigans, and only "recently" returned)
The soldier walks into an empty field nearby. "Said he'd be here..." after the fox thing scared the living daylights out of him during the whole crown situation, he took a day to recover and rest from his adventures. 'A reward for his humility... doesn't that defeat the point of humility?' he thought. Foxes couldn't, well, talk where he came from, so he wasn't sure if it was the trauma of this situation, but he decided to call out anyway. "Hey, uh, fox! You here somewhere?" he shouts into the empty air.Unwavering Guardsman Creature - Human Soldier First strike : Target creature gains lifelink until end of turn. : Target creature gains vigilance until end of turn. "Nothing scares me or my comrades, especially not some fiend like you."2/4 The field is indeed empty save for two things: a note written in worn parchment and the more mundane sight of a spear formed entirely of pulsating red energy, surrounded by the occasional crackle of black lightning. The note reads as such:
Aiden, you have shown me, with your humility and fortitude, that there will be hope for the denizens of this 'Arena' even in my absence. Hold fast to your strength of heart, but never grow complacent in it. If you find that possibility lurking behind the corner, merely say the word, and my services are once again yours. Until then, may this gift, a fraction of the Father's power, serve you well in whatever trials may come. May you walk ever with open eyes. Yours under Ni'Ama's gaze, As'han
Pierce the Sinful Sorcery Target creature gets +2/+0 and gains first strike and trample until end of turn.
"If you cannot purge the bile from within them with your words, another approach must be taken." --Lichirih, cardinal of Ni'Ama
Guardsman: Cool card! Not common (specifically due to repeatable keyword granting that doesn't even need the bad boy to tap). 6/10
"Oh, you flatter us both!" As'han tries to dismiss the remark with a wave of his paw and sound sufficiently dissuasive, but behind his other paw, his gleeful reaction is all too apparent. "All too easy it is to assume one is just plain incapable of straying from one's task at hand, but that is not so! Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer."
Rebuff Overconfidence Instant Counter target spell unless its controller pays . If that spell is countered this way, put it on top of its owner's library instead of into that player's graveyard. "You have still not executed the criminal that is pride from within you. Again." --Arachaiha, drill instructor
Insular: UR Control? More likely than you think. 9/10 for clean design that encourages a certain kind of off-the-beaten-path deckstyle
In the meantime, As'han is rather occupied by a matter involving two priests, a hamster, and a whole deal of bilberries, and so is unable to give this impending calamity any sort of thought.
Ignorance is Bliss Instant Choose one -- :: You gain hexproof until end of turn. :: Return target creature you own to your hand.
Telam closed his eyes, and for a brief and lovely moment, he could pretend that the rather angry pyromancer was no longer there.
Premature: even with the leap from hero's downfall to vraska's contempt this card is real weak compared to what canon gives us so 6/10

Aiden looked at the spear and read the note. "Huh. Weird." he picked up the spear and looked at it, the quiet crackling of red energy causing his lips to tighten into a frown. Suddenly, his current spear shone white, the sunstone shaking violently, before a blast of white shot at the energy spear, causing it to absorb into the physical weapon. After the fact, Aiden stared at it in shock, as it had it's own crackles of energy now. "What... what the Hell was that?" he shook his head. Off to see the rowboat.
Pierce the Sinful: I like it. Got that Temur Battle Rage feel to it, though I've never been particularly fond of sorcery buffs. 8/10.

Ignorance is Bliss: glad I took time before responding and you edited it This card is just wonderful! Simple design but it looks like such a neat modal spell. 10/10. Glad she finally chased the vermin away (hopefully forever) Aylin returns to her business. She'll probably need to talk to Lumen and send him on the fox's trail just to make sure...

Well, I just had to respond after that Darkest Dungeons quote. It's like I'm contractually obliged or something. "You flatter me as well. I'm a bit concerned about how you're wielding the White, though. That stuff is rather disgustingly corruptive and stale , after all."Procrastinate - Instant Exile target spell. At the beginning of the next upkeep, that spell's controller may cast it without paying its mana cost. "Eh, I'll deal with that tomorrow."Rebuff Overconfidence is a nice White counter. Procrastinate: considering this is next upkeep and not that player's next upkeep this does pretty much sweet fuckall and is just a way worse remand, and even if remand's a hot commodity this doesn't need to be this much worse. 4/10 (before Kirino Oblay Vs. The World)
As'han's train of thought is interrupted by a sudden vision, a leak from future Kirino breaking up with her relationship with linear time: a gigantic wall of stone, rupturing the earth itself, with he himself exerting great power to try to slow its course. As soon as the omen enters, it departs, leaving behind one visibly rattled fox with a strange new boost of mana. Perhaps it is just as well: as a fledgling planeswalker whose first walk was to this very plane, As'han would've no doubt presented himself in a negative light in trying to answer the question for which he had no context. And that would be an unprecedented tragedy.
"I. I must. Uuh. Leave now. Yes." With that elegant response, As'han darts away from his little shrine, not knowing where or why; the vision fades quickly from his memory, and soon, it has left completely. Oh well. Back to being a general nuisance training the souls of these lost lambs. Surely this vision and this power, whatever it was, was merely the will of Ni'Ama Himself, reaching even here.
Reality Unstuck Instant Scry 3, then reveal the top card of your library. Add an amount of equal to that card's converted mana cost. Until the end of your next turn, you don't lose this mana as steps and phases end.
(after Kirino Oblay Becomes An Old One) (this blurb writing-y thing kinda went into dark places but at the same time I feel vaguely good about the writing in it so I don't really feel like removing those parts? anyway warning for vague self-harm descriptions if that is some kind of thing for you)
He could only run, after that, run and then collapse onto the floor of his shrine, his mind a howling void. After watching her die such a sudden death. Such an undeserved death. She was his responsibility. Every single little soul on this world where Father sent him is his responsibility. And he could not stop it. Could not save her. When the realization hits, he convulses as if struck. No. Could have. Maybe. If he hadn't held back. A stronger barrier, and she'd be alive. Tempered her soul more rather than had insipid conversation, like with kin, and she'd be alive. Held back. Why? To ease the people here into his work? Do see if she could rise to the challenge? No. The shields aren't there anymore, in the armory within. The swords that loom in the small hours of the night have nothing stopping them now. Fear. Overconfidence. You thought you knew best. You thought you had the right to decide. You. The capacity to judge. The capacity to be anything less than waste. The cardinals had been right. They had been right all along. With no ego to stay them, his paws unsheathe their claws and begin to scratch at old marks under arm fur. He failed her. Scratch. Failed this world. Scratch. Failed his gift. Scratch. Failed Father. Scratch. Failed. Failed. Failedfailedfailedfailedfailedfailedfailadfailedfailedfailefefffaildaeda
No. A voice interrupted the chorus. You did not fail. You cannot. You are As'han. As'han Highest. Remember. Trust yourself. Trust the church that gave you that title. Could a failure have done what you did? What gave you praise from Father's people at last? What made it never stop? What saved you from doubt? They're not wrong, are they? Your siblings in the Work, are they stupid? Do you dare spit on them, now, after what you'v- after this? The voice is thin, its words flimsy and contradictory, but As'han clings to every syllable, whispering his assent less weakly each time. "Yes. That's right. I didn't fail. She failed. She wasn't strong enough. She was the one who wasn't enough. She was the one who was weak. I was too kind." He rises, on shaky legs. "I have been too kind. Too lenient. Too gracious. I see now." He stares at nothing with glazed eyes, then... laughter. Desperate laughter, desperate to become real. "Oh, of course! A test! A test from Father! Well, I have found the truth you sought to show! No more mister patient As'han! No more mister kind As'han! From now on, no more holding back! I will reckon this world like it has never been reckoned before! You thought you could break me? No one breaks me! As'han rises again! Rises again!" tl;dr prickfox got a skill point, spent it, has rarity upgrader now. also had ignored epiphany

Heck, I was even thinking "this means that you'll get an untap step before you get to deal with whatever they did", but did I double-check my work? I did not. Prickfox would find me lacking. --- Reality Unstuck is a dangerous, dangerous card. We're talking no-reason-not-to-play-in-any-primarily-red-deck, Apex of Power-on-turn-3 power here. I can't rate this any higher than a 4/10 due to sheer "this would be banned with all due haste". Which is a shame, really - I love the idea. It just really needs some help with the execution.

Holy Sunspirit, suddenly knives. Something in him seemed to crackle awake, and as he thrust his spear upward to defend himself, a shield of white light erupted in a dome around him. "Woah..." he said, looking at his spear. "Alright, don't know how this happened, but..." and then the sound of knives clinking against the light and falling to the ground. "Come on, fox guy! I don't mean any harm." he shouted out, the barrier coming down.Unwelcome Visitor Creature - Spirit Flying When ~ enters the battlefield, other creatures you control gain vigilance until end of turn. 2/2 Rain of Knives: I see you changed the name halfway through I like it, plus imagining the art as that flavor text linked card is really flavorful and I like it. Definitely a red card. 2 mana for 5 Sparkjolt's concerns me a little bit, but it loses the scry... should probably be a sorcery? 9.5/10 but I should practice what I preach so 10/10. (Also Message Hawk is the first card you've rated for me above a 7 probably ever so I've accomplished something today)

"You pathetic shell of a man." As'han's voice seems to be projected from everywhere at once. "You think it matters what anyone means? You think your failures... anyone's failures... can be amended by just whimpering 'I didn't mean to' loud enough? You are old. You know you have harmed countless. Will sh- will they tread this earth once more if you declare your innocence to their graves? Sickening. To think I thought you worth a reward, once."
unwelcome visitor is a solid etb lord thing but I'm not sure where the vigilance comes in from the unwanted part so this gets a 7/10
March of Subjugators Instant For each creature your opponents control, tap that creature unless its controller pays . As an unwritten rule, Mious' villages and towns rule themselves and keep to their own ways of religion. Unwritten rules, however, are easy to forget.

What the hell was he talking about? "Listen, fox-man. I didn't actually do anything to you yet, so I think you should at least come and talk to me. And I don't need to justify my past actions to you - I've made my bed and I'll lie in it in my own head. So have you I imagine. How'd you feel if I judged everything you did to people, huh?"Emboldened Envoy Creature - Rhino Soldier , Sacrifice ~: You gain hexproof until end of turn. "Yes, I'm sure we can take this shortcut - you've got me on your side!" - Gorask, rhino envoy right before The Disaster3/4 March of Subjugators: Something in me says "white doesn't tap" but an effect like this feels more like Blind Obedience so it's okay but for one seems pretty strong as an aggressive maneuver. 7/10. Edit: of course white taps what am I THINKING today. Still seems strong for one white though.

Emboldened Envoy: solid draft common that does the trick, 8/10
As'han has spent a skill point to purchase .
Defiance in the face of deconstruction. Assertion of morals. Hope. For a moment, in his hiding place, As'han sags. Maybe this is enough. Maybe Aiden will survive the coming days. Maybe he does have what it takes. Maybe As'han can stop, he is getting tire There is no stopping. When the next calamity comes, and he dies in it, you will know that every misguided clemency you gave was why. Just like with her. She was your responsibility. He is your responsibility. Everyone here is. Because Father sent you here. Now push. One last trial for him. He passes this? Then you can stop.
Why haven't you used the Path of the Merciless Hand yet? Make up for lost time. He will be the first. But not the last. Will he? Are you who they praise or are you not?
A deep breath. Another. Another. The fourth banishes the nameless dread, and As'han begins to weave a spell to pull horrors from the darkest recesses of Aiden's very mind. From aether, two spectral figures emerge, dreadfully familiar. Their faces are obscured. Of course they are. How could a two-year-old remember things like that? They are old now, older than Aiden is. They would not be very frightful if they were his junior, would they? They grow, grow far past a human's measure. The perceptions of an infant to whom every adult is a giant--but these ones, these ones are gods.
From above, Aiden's parents stare down at him, silently demanding that he justify his existence.
As'han didn't know that the spell would produce that. The Hand is only that, not an eye--only when it manifests its results can the caster surmise what flaw or wound brought the trial about. A satisfaction spreads across him, warm like stolen mead and sickly like knowledge of its origins. Now then, Aiden. Show me. Show me if you can become what I've become.
Scorn of the Ancestors

oh and a post for BB peeps: As'han has a thing in his arsenal called the Path of the Merciless Hand now, which pulls from someone's mind their deep personality flaws, fears, emotional connections, etc. and manifests them in the form of some kind of harmful spell or another. I don't wanna be metagamey with this, so
- anyone who wants to share these character details with me for the purposes of a Path attack is free to do so via dm but no one is obligated to do that just because I put something like this on the table - the same thing applies here as to any other attack, if you want to make it fizzle fluffwise then that's totally fine and I'm not gonna be That Guy about it

Aiden watches with bated breath - he knows something is going to happen. He prepares himself. Another trial? Something of strength and conviction? Bah, he had all of that. He'd already proved it numerous times before, what was going toThem. They don't even have to grow and Aiden knows exactly who they are. They age. They grow. "No..." Aiden mutters, staring at the black figures as they grow and grow to the size of Gods. "How could you..? How could you?!" he exclaims, and it's unclear if he's asking As'han or the figures before him. He knows it's fake, he knows this can't be real - they are long dead by now, he's sure of it. But it feels so... so... so real. His knees buckle beneath him, giving way to his weight - but he does not fall to his knees. He is merely awkwardly crouching. He remembers. And he looked back up to the figures. "No!" he shouted, slamming his spear's wooden end into the ground, it glowing brightly. "Not anymore." he said, rising from his awkward position. "You can't control my life. Not anymore." he said, standing tall, looking directly at their blurry faces. Aiden, Reborn Legendary Creature - Human Soldier When ~ enters the battlefield, you may gain X life, where X is the number of soldiers you control. Lifelink Whenever ~ attacks, create two 1/1 white soldier creature tokens that are tapped and attacking. "Never again will I falter." - Aiden of Sunspear3/4 Scorn of the Ancestors: Super flavor for the whole parent thing I like it, discarding feels like a bit much though, maybe feel better at . 9/10.
