Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest!
Here we go, competitors: our two-hundred and twenty-sixth challenge!
It's more likely than you think. This week, design a card using any mechanic from either Ravnica block. The catch? That mechanic can't share a color with any other canon card that has the same mechanic. (for instance, , and evolve cards are all invalid).
To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post.
Kickback Kingpin Creature - Human Rogue Extort (Whenever you cast a spell, you may pay . If you do, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain that much life.) If an instant or sorcery spell extorted by Kickback Kingpin would deal damage to a permanent or player, that spell deals that much damage plus 2 to that permanent or player instead. 2/2
Creature - Wolf Unleash (You may have this creature enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it. It can’t block as long as it has a +1/+1 counter on it.) Creatures with power less than Trained Canis's power can’t block it.
Bonds of Battle Sorcery Overload (You may cast this spell for its overload cost. If you do, change its text by replacing all instances of “target” with “each”.) Return target creature card with converted mana cost 2 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield.
The Stitcher Legendary Creature - Wizard Graft 3 (This creature enters the battlefield with three +1/+1 counters on it. Whenever another creature enters the battlefield, you may move a +1/+1 counter from this creature onto it.) Other creatures you control with +1/+1 counters on them are black Zombies in addition to their other colors and types. Zombies you control have menace. 1/1
Color Spray Sorcery Radiance— Tap target creature and each other creature that shares a color with it. Creatures tapped this way don’t untap during their controller’s next untap step. In the hands of an Archmage, even a lowly cantrip can bring an army to its knees.

Amantis, the Envious Legendary Creature - Insect Evolve (Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, if that creature has greater power or toughness than this creature, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature.) Whenever a counter is placed on Amantis, each player loses 1 life. 0/1 From nothing to nightmare.
Minister of Oubliettes Creature-- Giant Cleric Whenever you attack with one or more creatures, detain target creature defending player controls. (Until your next turn, that creature can’t attack or block and its activated abilities can’t be activated.) Whenever you detain a creature, Minister of Oubliettes deals 2 damage to that creature'scontroller. It is said that those unfortunate few who are sentenced to the Hollow Cells never again take a breath without knowing torment. 2/5
Last Edit: Jul 28, 2018 7:07:08 GMT by Icarael: Edited wording of 1st ability
"Take the bridge, men! Victory! Victory is ou - Retreat! RETREAT!"
When Arkhan, Grand Pyromaster enters the battlefield, create a 1/1 red Elemental creature token.
Instant and sorcery spells you cast have convoke. (Your creatures can help cast those spells. Each creature you tap while casting an instant or sorcery spell pays for or one mana of that creature's colour.)
ZephyrPhantom: And just when I thought that Zuty would be an easy winner. Very nicely done, stepping up your cookie so well.
Icarael: You might wanna clarify who's being damaged by the 2nd ability. As you have it now, the player who controls your card gets damaged. If you want the controller of the detained creature to get damaged, you should word it thusly: Whenever you detain a creature, Minister of Oubliettes deals 2 damage to that creature's controller.
As an Legendary I feel its a bit lackluster in terms of its power level, as it its now. With that ability it should be a Legendary, because 2 of these at the same time on the battlefield, dont do any thing.
1. I could see its mana cost just be . or 2. It could be a (1/2 or 1/3) and make 2 tokes instead. or 3. Maybe give it haste
Chief Engineer did not break any thing. So i can't se this design should too, with one of these upgrades, as I think it needs some power.

Been a while.
Saturn Alley Skitterfang Creature - Vampire Rogue Lifelink Bloodrush - , Discard Saturn Alley Skitterfang: Target attacking creature gets +1/+1 and gains lifelink until end of turn. "Skitterfang zone. Watch your flanks, if you value your breath." - Sergeant Temperance
A very indulgent flavor piece from my own "magic city" setting of Stratopol, which is definitely 100 times better than Ravnica, don't @ me
