Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our two-hundred and twenty-forth challenge!
The winner of the "Monkeys with Typewriters" poll was CanterburyEgg with... As sadly neither our winner nor our runner-up responded in time, here's a backup challenge... From the famous Flying all the way to the rather infamous Banding – people love having creatures with evasion. So your challenge for this week is quite simple: Design a card that either has or grants evasion. However, there is one important restriction: You may not use a mechanic that either is or has been an evergreen. This means no Banding, Fear, Flying, Intimidate, Landwalk, Menace or Trample. Have fun, everyone!
Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Well, if I couldn't use them for the previous challenge, at least I can use one of them here. Rakness is my entry, I'm just including Burmac so people know what they both do.
Rakness, the Scorn of Sieges    Legendary Creature--Giant Berserker  Partner with Researcher Burmac (When this creature enters the battlefield, target player may put Burmac into their hand from their library, then shuffle.)
Trample, haste
Other creatures you control get +2/+0.
Each creature you control can’t be blocked by creatures with higher toughness. 6/3
Researcher Burmac   Legendary Creature--Vedalken Merfolk Mutant Partner with Rakness, the Scorn of Sieges (When this creature enters the battlefield, target player may put Rakness into their hand from their library, then shuffle.)
Graft 1 (This creature enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it. Whenever another creature enters the battlefield, you may move a +1/+1 counter from this creature onto it.)
Evolve (Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, if that creature has greater power or toughness than this creature, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature.)

Whenever enchanted creature attacks, up to two other target creatures you control can’t be blocked this combat except by creatures with flying or reach. I was total inspired by the great designer search circus week challenge. |

gateways7: See also Canopy Cover, Spire Tracer, and, to a lesser extent, Elven Riders.
jynx316: While shadow was never evergreened, I do feel like its use violates the spirit of the challenge. @daij_Djan, am I right in this assumption? |

Zuty I came up with the same ranged keyword exactly for a test set I made for fun a while ago lol. the only thing different is I worded it as "Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to this creature while attacking" (Added my card, hopefully this counts as it's a deterent to blocking it that also is somewhat evasive) City Patrol  Creature - Human Soldier  Vigilance Whenever ~ attacks and is blocked, create four 1/1 white soldier creature tokens tapped and attacking defending player. Exile the tokens at the end of combat. Whenever ~ blocks a creature, create four 1/1 white soldier creature tokens blocking that creature if able. Exile the tokens at the end of combat. 2/2

sdfkjgh: evasion allows you to pressure a life total or planeswalker by going around creatures. My entry is random, but can help you kill your opponent or their planeswalker.

I actually stole my wording and the idea from Armored Transport but I guess either wording works. xD

Im not sure if returning mechanics were okay to use, but I would have loved an elegant combo like this when they introduced skulk. Mistwalker 2UU Creautre - Elemental Uncommon Skulk (This creature can’t be blocked by creatures with greater power.) U: Mistwalker gets +1/-1 until end of turn. U: Mistwalker gets -1/+1 until end of turn. 3/3 Attachment Deleted |

spazlaz: Ok, but the challenge is "Design a card that either has or grants evasion", and yours does neither. I'm not saying it's not a good card, I'm just saying it doesn't meet the requirements.
inverness: Ok, that's a really good design. I just worry that there'll be a feelbad when the defending player learns that it's secretly a 3/1 if they let it through. |

Jeskai Firedancer  Creature - Human Monk Jeskai Firedancer can't be blocked by creatures with lesser power. : ~ gains +1/-1 until end of turn. : ~ gains -1/+1 until end of turn. 0/4 sade612 - The abilities are cool but I think it's a little silly to keyword everything just for the purpose of the contest. Focusing on featuring one (Probably Cover or Extrude) would probably be better. Also, this might be just me but it's a little hard to read the white text on the bright flames.
