Welcome to Nafshire, Traveler!
Art by Jorge Jacinto
To put it simply, Nafshire is an odd plane. Monsters from beyond the veil have existed there as long as anyone can remember, but their intentions are anything but clear. Through sheer disinterest or dumb luck, humanity has been graciously spared from mass destruction at the monsters hands. Of course, the occasional sheep or villager will mysteriously go missing now and then, but for the most part, if you keep your head down, you might just be able to live whatever passes for a normal life here. With safety in such a precarious position, sanity is often the first thing to go.After all, It's their world, and we're just living in it until they decide to finally enact whatever sinister plan they've been working on, or just eat you for a light morning snack. We are merely the cosmic playthings of the monsters who have strangely accepted us in this Lovecraftian World.
Deranged - A Threshold based mechanic that cares if there are four or more creature cards in your graveyard. The more you see random people meeting unfortunate and chaotic ends, the more insane you become.
Morbid - Morbid returns to Nafshire, offering rewards to players who can force trades and adding unusual decisions and considerations into combat to play on the theme of uncertainty.
Horrors and Octopi Matter - I've made it a goal to include at least one bizarre archetype into most of my sets, and this time, it's a strange tribal twist. No one's quite sure what the monsters want, but most of them have at least some influence on the lives of the humans around them. The presence of the unknowable can have odd effects on people.
Undying ::UU::::BB:: - Undying returns as well, representing the futility of trying to fight against the monsters. Not only is fighting them incredibly difficult for the humans of Nafshire, but it only brings them back stronger than before.
