Everybody knows horizontal cycles in Magic. Basically each set includes some five or ten card cycles – like the new common lands in the upcoming Duskmourn set, for example. Your challenge however will be about the lesser known vertical cycles, which means a cycle spanning across rarities.The challenge is simple: Design a vertical cycle. Your cycle may contain four cards (so one per rarity) or three (skipping a rarity of your choice). You may design all cards for your entry, or you may use one existing card as part of your cycle. So you'll end up designing at least two, and at maximum four own cards total.
And just to absolutely clarify: Yes, the entire vertical cycle will be your entry. Have fun, everyone
