In reverse chronological order.
Set 2 of the Mercadian Tides block: Saprazzo has fallen, and the entire plane is rapidly flooding, as represented by the presence of blue hybrid. A lot of cool hybrid designs... but I have many regrets, like Rebel tribal becoming Nomad tribal that runs on the opposite logic, and some overly complicated commons.
A miniset (48 cards) meant for a BOO draft that never happened, set on yet another Oriental plane. This one sees the return of awaken, proliferate, and extort and introduces two new mechanics, sideswipe and enlightened.
Set 1 of the Mercadian Tides block, a return to the justly despsied world of Mercadia. Reinterpreting themes like Rebel tribal and land sac. Humorously, the presence of both Pirate tribal and Gold tokens predates Ixalan by two years.
Best Set of 2015
Time Hop that takes place during the bad future of Magic, where the plane of Takheim is ruled by the fascistic Djanim. Except when the set is random reprints from old Magic sets in a "hilarious" ABU border. Except when it's cards for Battle Boards characters made by people who have been AWOL since 2014. It's terrible, is what I'm saying. It notably has long game, the literal worst mechanic ever.

It's prehistoric world! I did some designs for this community set and was heavily involved in development. Despite some Constructed balance issues and some generic art/theming, this is probably the best Limited experience on MSE.
A community set, with top-down religious flavor and wedge guilds. Pretty cool.
What if Alpha was redesigned according to modern design standards, and with a weird rarity rejiggering, and also was very bad?
