Back in M15, the number of uncommons per large set was increased from 60 to 80. Not much of an explanation was provided, just that " it makes limited play better." Have you found this to be the case? What is the breakdown you put into your sets?

Greater diversity of uncommons is kind of a double-edged sword. It means more space for the kinds of slightly complex or offbeat effects that wouldn't fit at common, which is generally a good thing, but it also makes proper Limited build-arounds harder to do since there'll be fewer of them per draft - you can't rely so much on being able to pick up two or three copies of a critical uncommon.
I do stick with WotC's ratios, though, partly because the consistency problem is lessened when all drafts are three packs of the same set (as they are now) and partly because I just really like designing uncommons.
