Create mana symbol using two images

Creating this post made me think a bit: Is it possible to create a mana symbol in MSE by telling the program to place two images on top of each other? For the snow color symbols I used the mana_circle_g.png images and placed the snow symbol on top. But I had to do this for each color separately and had a few tries until I got the size right. Can I somehow let MSE do this for me. I know there is the blending where you can say "take this part from this picture and that part from another picture" but is there a way of saying "take this picture and then put that on top"? I'd put on top of the circles. If I need to adjust the size of the snowflake, I'd just have to change one picture, not five.
