Long story short, I created a set in Ravnica with general themes of modern urban conflict. I am an author and not a game designer. I approached this project not from the "let's create some magic cards with a background" but from "let's create a world and try to explain it through magic". There's a timeline, lore, concept behind each guild, characters, mechanics, decisions, cycles, architectures, etc but the goal is not to explain them in a lengty document, it's to see if I am able to use a magic set as a narrative/worldbuilding device. My plan was to do about forty cards of each of the guilds, but after having done half of the guilds I am just exhausted. All images are created with AI, you can see some extended artwork in some other post I made here a while ago. I am going to say nothing else for the moment and just show some of the cards. Tell me what you think! Thank you! Boros:
Dimir: Gruul: Orzhov: Golgari:

In the future, please list the AI model you used on the cards in the artist credit field. Thanks.
Few small questions/observations here: - I'm guessing the guilds have evolved/changed a bit in general given Two Minutes of Hate's description of Boros. - It would help your presentation a lot if you started with a card that explained what a keyword did instead of leading with or only using cards that don't explain the keywords. What do Subversive, Entrance, and Scavenger do? (If I missed them, sorry about that.) I think this is why WoTC and other set designers tend to have their introductions to planes be sectioned off as something like : GuildThis is an overview of the guild. <Guild cards here> <Guild Mechanic>This is what the guild mechanic is, and how it works. <Guild mechanic cards here>. tl;dr Organize by mechanic as well as by guild. One sentence to describe each section goes a long way too. - This applies to things that make a rough amount of sense but need the exact mechanic explained too - how does 'Neutral' work, exactly? - Alliance Guild - This means you have alliance for any guild? - How are you checking guild alignment? If you're checking this via watermarks be warned this will be unreliable outside of your set due to reprints of Ravnica cards in sets like Modern Masters or Commander Precons often lacking guild watermarks. - I get what you were going for with Vampirism but it also indirectly implies Boros have vampires (unless that is intended). If you don't mind mechanical nitpicking - damage is removed, not healed, and you'd probably need to rephrase the prevent choice to be explicit about it happening the next time the creature takes damage. - It's really confusing to have a keyword called Scavenger in Golgari when the Golgari already used Scavenge in a different way - see Deadbridge Goliath. - Cognitive Dissonance and Honest Citizen are my favorite cards so far. The former conveys its flavor well with a unique effect and the latter has good flavortext.
