Hey MSE Board! I'm new to MSE and custom MtG cards and have been driven to these boards with a few burning questions about using MSE. I'm hoping someone here can help me.
I am a cube enthusiast and have recently stumbled onto iDerp's classic shifted cube (link below), a true work of art. I am trying to create some additional cards using the same template, but am running into issues with MSE. I have installed iDerp's template "Classicshifted V 3.0" into MSE and it works great except for 3 issues:
1) Cardname text is white instead of black. When I switch to any other stock MSE template the text shows up as black so I don't think it is the font. Seems like it could be a template issue. 2) There is no text box on the card where I can input creature type. If I add creature type in a different style (say pre-8th edition or something) and then switch styles to iDerp's template, the creature type line disappears and that area is just blank. 3) I would like to remove the set symbol but have no idea how to do this.
I can't figure out a way in MSE to edit these things, so I'm assuming there is an issue with the template. Can anyone here offer suggestions?
iDerp's MSE and completed image files can be found here: drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B-S9ADELGMXOM195OUp1VXJpVG8?usp=sharing

Black text would be unreadable on most of these frames. This also lines up with the "classic" frames it is emulating. 2) I'm not having any problems with this, and the only potential problem I can see would mean you're using an MSE that's 7 years out of date. Are you getting any console errors on the final tab? 3) Open the symbol editor, click the square/set symbol, then delete it and save.

Cajun, thanks for the reply.
1) Wow, you are right. The first card I was working on was a white card so I just had a brain fart.
2) Maybe I am using an out of date program, here is the download link I used sourceforge.net/projects/magicseteditor/files/Magic%20Set%20Editor%202/2.0.0/mse-win32-2011-02-05-full.exe/download?use_mirror=cytranet. The date in the hyperlink is 2011 so maybe I am using an out of date program? I don't know exactly what you mean by 'final tab' but if the above link is not the most up-to-date MSE, then perhaps it's an easy fix. Is there a more recent version you would recommend and, if so, could you point me in the right direction?
3) Is the set symbol editor part of the main MSE program or something I edit in the data folder? Having trouble finding it.
Thanks again, you are a life saver.

You can check the Downloads page for relatively recent updates or Additional Downloads for even more recent ones. The primary thing you need from all that is updated game files, which you can get by itself here. Unzip whichever and move the multiple folders inside to ME/data the Set symbol is in the Set info tab in MSE.

Cajun, thanks again for your comment, turns out I had an old copy of the program. Once I reinstalled the new copy all of those problems were fixed. I've run into another issue, however. When trying to print my files (individually) to PDF I get the following error: --------------------------- Error --------------------------- An internal error occured: Cannot find resource file at C:\Users\thesa\OneDrive\Desktop\MSE/resource/selected or C:\Users\thesa\AppData\Roaming\Magic Set Editor/resource/selected Please save your work (use 'save as' to so you don't overwrite things) and restart Magic Set Editor. You should leave a bug report on magicseteditor.sourceforge.net/Press Ctrl+C to copy this message to the clipboard. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- Any advice here? I've reinstalled a few times but it doesn't seem to be helping.

Go into the resources folder where you installed MSE, and rename selected_yes.png to selected.png
You should change selected_no.png to deselected.png as well.
